  1. Totally agree. I don't think I've walked through that building since the first time I was at that park. Anything with more dinosaurs gets an automatic approval from me. Very hopeful that a new attraction ties directly into the new movie; an amber mine sequence, like "Temple of Doom," but with marauding subterranean dinosaurs could be sweet.
  2. All this talk about how awful Voyage can be is such a bummer. I've only ridden it over one HoliWood Nights event, back in '08 or '09, and I guess we got super-lucky, because I really don't like very rough coasters, and we LOVED Voyage, so much. But "Iron Voyage" could be INSANE.
  3. I sure do hope Knight Valley has plans to get that flume ride running again; looks very odd and incredible. And the shots of Wood Coaster... damn, just beautiful.
  4. SWEET! I was really hoping it wouldn't be coming up quite so soon. PSYCHED.
  5. I'll just leave this right here... http://thrillride.com/RidesIWant/ColossusMut.html
  6. Seeing the progression photos is awesome; can't wait to see the finished documentary!
  7. ^Wait a minute, you want to actually make money with all the work you put into the site, the videos, etc. HOW DARE YOU?! This is the way the Internet is supposed to work: Someone starts website with passion for a particular subject. Website becomes really popular. Owner of said website is able to monetize that popularity and pours some of that back into website, which in turn grows more, becomes more popular, makes more money. Owner wins, visitors to web site win. There's a problem here?
  8. All points above are great ones; it's just staggering how media has changed and fragmented in the last 25 years. Remember when hit shows like Friends had tens of millions of viewers each week? The viewer numbers for the biggest hit network shows today are way down from that. But are people watching less TV? Not at all. They're just doing it differently, and they have thousands more options available to them. Remember Friendster?
  9. This park looks really cool, and the Ghost Ship is squarely on my bucket list. Bravo to China for all the wacky haunted attractions! The mist pouring out of the restrooms, though, that is pretty bent.
  10. ^Fighting... temptation... to make off-color, immature jokes... WEAKENING... MUST... LOG OUT SOON... [raises arm and waves enthusiastically]
  11. Another wicked update; thanks! Seeing the "Entrance" letters in place gave me a particular little kick.
  12. Isn't "Fail" the opposite of "Win?" (I can't keep up with internet jargon any more...) Anyway, this wristband thing sounds like a great service improvement, and I don't even want to know how many ways I'm already being tracked by my phone, my computer, my bank, the black helicopters over my house, yada, yada. Might as well have Disney know what I'm up to at all times at their parks.
  13. So many awesome gifts!!! That Gary K. book is legendary! I'm already looking forward to ChrisHanKwansivus 2013.
  14. In hindsight, it does seem unlikely that the court would have ruled differently, but the fact that the suit went this far... crazy. Anyway, YAY for reasonable legal foundations of personal responsibility! Now, I'm going to go jump on a trampoline while juggling kebob skewers.
  15. I second the Shelob dark ride idea. That was one seriously horrifying, badass spider. (And I'll admit that the big spider encounter in Forbidden Journey made me scream like a little girl every time I rode that thing.) I see what you did there.
  16. You know what this thread needs? Another opinion! So here's mine: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/making_things This may be one of the greatest things I've ever read. Also, the TPR videos are hysterical, and beautifully produced. Anyway, Happy New Year, everyone!
  17. It's been a bit since I got caught up on this thread; one beautiful shot after another, and those Christmas at Europapark photos are insane. Thanks so much; can't wait to see what 2013 brings! Happy Holidays, Hanno!
  18. I just discovered this thread and HATS OFF TO YOU, man! These are spectacular! I'm learning things here; thanks so much! Please keep up the GREAT work!
  19. ^^^Snow Coaster 360, totally. Then add a non-working yeti.
  20. Disneyland's Space Mountain. Michael Giacchino's score, NUFF SAID, yo.
  21. So I got touched by the magic of ChrisHanKwansivus and it was extra-magical. To my Secret Santa, YOU (SB) ROCK! Thanks so much! And thanks so much to Brandy for being the tremendous ChrisHanKwansivus coordinator and Happy Holidays everyone! He/She knew that "Little Shop of Horrors" is one of my favorite movies, and I've NEVER seen the 20 minute alternate ending, which had been restored in full color and is just one of the bonus features on this fantastic Blu-Ray! SUPER-FREAKING MEGA-AWESOME. And speaking of bonus, a USB Pet Rock, too! My santa tells me he/she has one of these, and that they named it "Steve." I am calling mine "Knute Rockne." Here he is, a little listless after the trip through the mail... But after I plugged him in, he perked right up! See?! Here he is telling me a joke: "How many rocks does it take to turn on a light bulb? ... None. Rocks don't have hands or anything. How the hell could a rock turn on a light bulb?" Then I sparked one up. As you can see, he got pretty stoned. (Knute is kind of a lightweight.) Then he did his impression of the asteroid from "Armegeddon." Not bad, right? (Turns out he LOVES that movie; go figure.) Again, thanks a ton, Secret Santa! You really did make this holiday season special for me! And now, I'm off to have some quality time with Ellen Greene...
  22. Very on the fence with this idea. On the one hand, I love the old Rye Playland art deco look and feel. On the other hand, it's losing money hand over fist; it can't survive in the form it's in now. Adapt or die. And if some corporate entity has to take the reins, the Lego folks would certainly do things better here than anyone else who seems interested. And you KNOW they'd do something awesome with the Dragon coaster.
  23. Re: Pooh, DAMN, that is wicked about the whole floor/room but color me even more impressed, then, with what SeaWorld is doing.
  24. ^"Better than pooh..." heh. But seriously, doesn't the Pooh vehicle also have some motion-base action to it? Anyway, I never would have guessed that a ride about penguins would be one of the coolest pun intended rides of the next few years. Last, I, for one, welcome our new dolphin overlords.
