New park operating procedures
DJeXeL replied to Sue's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
All of these coasters that are having seat belts added all have 1 thing in common. They are all owned and operated by SF. So manufacturer is irrelevant. Some states (CA for example) require that all modifications to a coaster (modifying/adding restrains, reprogramming etc...) be approved by the manufacturer. In SFMM's case, Goliath was manufactured by Giovanola who is now out of business so by default, SFMM is now the "manufacturer" so they can do as they please. -
^I remember that as well. I was on a train that vallied on 1 of the inside turns. There were 10 riders on the train of which, 5 were little kids so clearly not enough weight. We crawled through the 1st inside turn and at that point I was thinking we weren't going to make it and sure enough we didn't.

The parks Horticulture department removes Bees and Wasps hives/nests however they will still linger around the area long after the hive is gone so the park puts the sign there as a precaution. Bees aren't as much of an issue as Wasps are. Bees will only sting when provoked whereas wasps will sting regardless. -
^^No. Dispatch sequence: The operator at the tower console presses the "enable" button. This allows the operator in the dispatch booth to start the "weigh sequence" where you'll notice the passenger cart goes up about 7-9ft and pauses. During this 4-10 second pause the PLC is calculating the weight of the riders so it knows how much air pressure will be needed. Once the PLC is done with this calculation, the screen in the dispatch booth will say "ready for dispatch" and at that time the operator presses the "start" button and the PLC does the rest.

Love the color scheme. I'm glad Vekoma sold another one of these. Deja Vu was my favorite coaster at SFMM. -

^It is nice of a park to let guests know of attraction closures (be it permanent or for refurbishment) but in no means are they required to tell you anything. We all know SFMM isn't known for their guest relations anyways so this shouldn't come as a surprise. In regards to X2: No one knows what the real issue is with the new chain installation. All we do know is that the chain broke, they ordered a new one which takes time as you can't just go to Home Depot and purchase a 4D coaster lift chain. There were confirmations of a crane over by the X2 lift and that new chain installation had started. Then the park confirmed it wont be open until after the 1st of the year. That's all we know. Sounds to me like they ran into some issues with the new chain. Hopefully the park is taking this time to work on the On-Board audio and give the trains some TLC but this is SFMM we are talking about and they are obviously more reactive than proactive. Also as an FYI, DOSH isn't required to sign off on something like a lift chain replacement.
