I know you didn't ask but I'm going to answer anyways . That green piece of nylon that's curved on top is used to toggle the train's anti-rollbacks up and down as the train passes. The proximity switch you see directly after that counts the anti-rollbacks to make sure they're all accounted for. All B&Ms have this.
Fantastic trip report. Thank you for Posting.
2012 will be a great year for So Cal parks. Cars Land @ DLR, Transformers @ USH, and Manta @ SWSD. Your pennies would be spent wisely.
Transformers is at the top of my list. I'm still wondering if it will be a "Pandora's Box" design from Vekoma.....
^^^Nothing they can install would beat Steel Eel. Can't wait to ride that again this summer. A lot of airtime was had on that ride.
Not to mention the trench will give a heightened sense of speed.
A 300ft Intamin Gyro drop would be a nice fit up there as well.....
Elissa is right, MM has plenty of space. If Knott's can still wedge attractions in all over the park then you can bet your a$$ MM will continue to find room. Robb, does Newhall Land still own all the land surrounding the park?
Any rides corporate puts into SWSD are good rides. Yea it's not exactly going to be the most thrilling ride but families will enjoy it which is the important thing. I'm all for it. Whenever I visit SWSD I never find myself being bored.
Not to mention this ride will keep the park's cranky neighbors happy as their skyline will not be affected.
I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of b*thcing going on in this thread.
It's a great ride however it can become a nightmare very quickly if the seat belt starts digging into your hip.
Not really a fan of Grinder Gearworks however it's important for a park to have a nice balance of Non-Coaster rides being that they're already scarce at MM I'd hate to see it go. Not to mention little kids 42"-48" absolutely love rides that spin!
