  1. I'd thought nobody had brought the trims up in quite some time.
  2. I believe a (suicidal?) man was tampering deliberately with the restraint locks (whose on-board locks are not reached by accident), and jumped off of the train just before the breaks, where he died.
  3. (Warning! I may be incorrect/deceiving myself) I visited the park yesterday, having visited a week prior, and having heard a rumor of some new wheels I decided to look, and saw two or three (on the one side visible to me) top-wheels near the front of the train (I beleive the wheels were uniform before this, though I can't be 100%) and these wheels had much thinner material, larger (and shinier) centers, and the contact material was solid gray as opposed to translucent blue. When I rode the ride (remember, it had only been a week for me, but this could be placebo effect nonsense), the trims pulled just as hard, but the remainder of the course seemed to me to go somewhat faster, most noticably in the 150 foot and 75 foot hills, which had improved air. Last week, I felt like the train was sitting on the top of the 150 foot hill with no air, but yesterday it was actually strong floater, and the 75 foot hill is performing much better, with ejector air that has insane duration. (speculating on my own speculation: could the trims have been the first step in testing stronger, but faster wheels? After all, I'm sure they did not want the ride to travel faster than opening day)
  4. I really cant imagine at all what was hard to follow about the finale. Besides some pointless specifics, the entire series makes sense. Jack and friends save the world and find peace in death.
  5. Both the midcourse and final brakes have fins on both sides. This looks like a bracket for a long, single fin trim, to slow the train more gradually than either of the other brakes.
  6. I'm not sure about the board policy for posting 'illegal' pov's is, but a good way might be to search "intimidator 305 pov" into youtube, and organizing the results by upload date.
  7. Took some art classes in college, heres a charcoal thingy.
  8. Aaaahahahahahahahaha Ok in my defense I had quite a fever last night and said in sensationalist terms what I thought, which came out as backwards, which is that the park had planned already to make these changes this week. By damage control I meant the act of putting the new restraints on the test car days before it would be appropriate. (as they've had the correct as of no restraints there for weeks). I know that parks don't care about enthusiasts but probably have a few staff mambers monitoring online sentiments to the park and ride, which have probably been a mix of 'it was awesome' (probably for the most part, people love the ride), 'I blacked out', 'hurt my neck', and most recently a spattering of 'wtf trims'. If they were planning to take both steps (straps and trims), doing them at once would surely make the soft straps the first thing anyone notices (as many of their repeat customers have ridden by now and could potentially notice reduced speeds). Perhaps my post was poorly worded, but to think that the park doesent value the opinion of the thousands of guest that like the ride alredy seems dumb too. Or you could just think I'm dumb and that the park is putting non-corresponding restraints on their test seat for no good reason at all. While the enthusiast crew couldn't affect the fate of the ride, maybe they can effect the day that someone straps a restraint to a seat. (which could come down to a decision as simple as "They're talking about the trim hardware? Ok put the new restraint on the test seat and they'll talk about that.") Or you could think I'm dumb regardless who cares really?
  9. The soft restrains were added this past sunday. This seems like damage control to me, showing the ride fans something we like because we may be dissapointed in the incoming trims. I predict that this friday the ride will open with the trims and the soft straps. It's a real shame in a way, the ride was one of a kind as it was IMO the best ride in the world. Hopefully it can stay that way.
  10. Sony Pictures Animation is a huge studio (and makes pretty good movies). They will never produce a straight-to-DVD. Again, this movie wont be made.
  11. So from what I've read, one guy took one ride on it, and called it 'neutered' or something to that effect, and 5 other accounts say that the ride experience is unchanged as of now. Some kind of new hardware has been installed, but it supposedly does not run under the train as the rides other brakes do.
  12. Sometimes the best business decision is to simply not invest in a park. (SFA is technically my home park too, but I have given up all hope for that park. Don't expect it to get better "just because they deserve it". I personally do not believe that park will ever improve at this point.)
  13. Don't worry guys, they bought the rights but this movie will not be made.
  14. I rode on hurler this past sunday and the trims were barely on. This could have been a unique occurance, but is it possible they havent finalized the power of the brakes at this point?
  15. Griffon, its the only B&M that takes my breath away. Alpengeist and Dominator are fun loopers too.
  16. Went to KD for a day, and it was the first time i'd been to a park on a sunny saturday, so there were definite crowds that I wasn't used to. I rode Stunt Coaster for the first time and thought it was great (awesome tunnel), and of course, Intimidator 305 continued to be my #1. ERT was awesome, I got a train to myself on FoF with the lights on, a proud moment in Roller Coaster fandom. About 8 305 rides, including ERT, and night rides are unreal. On to the pictures, which were taken by my Girlfriend, who is a photojournalist and not an enthusiast. Dominator from the event luncheon Unique view from picnic grounds Some doods on Drop Tower (actual name) Its big. Yours Truly walking to the aweseomest ride. Who needs on ride photos? From across the park Awesome Piggy Prizes Long exposure madness begins You can see his quarter moving! Triple Spin Entrance plaza madness ERT excitement Walking into our very own Intimidator 305
  17. Immediately after Behemoth, and before any market data from Intimidator 305 exists? Color me unconvinced.
  18. Yep its me, the real fooz . Its been like 6 years but I still live and occasionally post on the internet.
  19. Wow. I am just realizing how amazing this place looks. Even BGE isnt all that close to the extent of themeing there.
  20. Even a park like kennywood will forgo tradition if they believe that it will net them more money overall. "We are quaint and historical" may have garnered all the attention it could, and "we have a launched looper with a top hat" will pack in more crowds (although I imagine folks were going through this tenfold with lazer loop/ steel phantom installation). Edit: I just realized how funny "top hat" can make a description of a ride sound.
  21. A mega lite, according to RCDB, is 15,000,000$, so it is not the "budget option" you might imagine. IMO, almost any american park is gonna see that figure as rediculous, when they could get a large scale B&M for that price or not much more.
  22. Honestly I think their best options are prefab track, or tubular steel. I'm sure GG or GCI track would be torn apart in 10 years just like this track was, this kind of height and speed is just pushing the limits of what wood can handle. A steel retracking would make this ride miles smoother and faster, and could reattract guests.
  23. I ate this, and maybe i just have a sensitive palate, but I thought it was completely, unbearably salty. Literally the saltiest item of food I can imagine (except for a big pocket of salt in a poorly prepared chipotle burrito which left me scarred for days).
  24. Dark ride/ spiderman IOA type ride of Bioshock. Ohh yea.
