  1. It seems that i305 runs only 1 train on weekdays to save on costs. Realistically, on a day that isn't crowded, it makes perfect sense. With 2 trains the ride is such a capacity monster that they'd be running empty seats for most of the day. I went on a July teusday, and I didnt have to wait more than 3 trains to ride (~5 minutes?) (the front seat wait will be much, much longer) the line just barely left the station at it's longest. Its usually pretty possible on a teusday or wednesday to ride i305 as much as you want. Hopefully you get crowds as light as I did.
  2. You're going to have no problem with lines on a Tuesday or wednesday in august I think. If you're there at opening (when they walk everyone back), do volcano or i305 front seat first (the longest lines you'll see all day afterwards). You can easily get a couple rides on volcano in the morning, although capacity on volcano isn't too bad this year, so you might be able to ride it later without much of a wait if the crowds are light. If you head to the other side of the park in the early morning it will be totally empty. Most of the crowds that come in head straight to dominator, intimidator, and volcano. As for the woodies, at least do grizzly (in the front or back), as it's just been partially refurbished (by GCI, as I was told) and is running great. If it's hot, KD has a gem of a rapids ride too. If you like the park it will be easy to have a great time on those weekdays, and you wont have many lines to wait in.
  3. I know that, but all the existing "mega-lite" are a common model, which does not fit the location of the HP 2012 attraction. Lot of times in this thread it has been speculated that this ride could be a Mega-lite, yet the layout will not be the same as existing installations of that type of ride (especially now that HP has released a silhouette of the layout), and HP had applied for a ride of 212 feet. None of this really relates to the mega-lite product.
  4. What do people mean by megalite? The same model as kawesemi? Because It is certainly not that...
  5. I think kryten was making a joke about the BGW thread earlier this year.
  6. Neat, great to see it running so well. I wish I could ride it!
  7. Heres some crazy 1080p park footage by some amateur video guys with nice cameras and post-processing. Its a little cheesy but the footage is amazing! If you havent been to kings dominion this certainly shows some of the areas really well.
  8. I was there on Tuesday and had a great time. Of course 305 is running amazingly (It somehow seems better every time!), and feels great on a hot day, but it was my first time on grizzly this year, and the retracking is great! It was smooth as silk through most of the course, and much faster than it used to run. It is twice the ride it was last year!
  9. I dont think apollo has much in the way of air, myself.
  10. Isn't attendance up this year? Six flags is climbing out of bankruptcy, cedar fair is doing alright, and disney and (especially) universal had good years. I think that that is better than what most industries can say.
  11. I think the first half is great, especially in the front. The drop has a classic arrow "ramp" feel, and the two loops are taken with great speed. After the MCBR, though, I don't think it's that fun.
  12. Steel Force is much smoother than magnum, one of the smoothest rides I've ever been on.
  13. That enclosed chute looks like crazy fun, and I cant believe how much faster jupiter looks than the last TPR video of it.
  14. That element on titan looks straight out of anaconda. That margherita pizza looks pretty nice!
  15. Im sure if those companies created such a park, the revenue splitting would become convoluted and ridiculous, and they'd be suing each other non-stop. They'd also be essentially creating their own competition, and the market hasnt taken kindly to new parks in the US since IOA. Nonsensical notion, IMO, I think those companies know that they are best suited to continue using the markets and investments they have currently become entrenched in.
  16. I think stunt coaster is a fun ride, but I hate those plastic bucket seats.
  17. I think this is a golden opportunity for an intamin blitz in the woods.
  18. This is pretty much how I feel. I think they are sort of dull forces wise, but AC dos have some good moments and an amazing location.
  19. I had heard 12 million also, but cannot recall where.
  20. Wow, that video is just plain embarrassing.
  21. I think the flux capacitor has broken, and the ride has temporarily lost the ability to go "88 miles per hour"!
  22. I'm calling BS, CP vs SFMM is by far the better bickering.
  23. I'd imagine TPR gets loads more traffic than almost any other coaster site, so it makes sense that they'd want a large part of the campaign to be here.
  24. My favorite seat on Dominator is the back right. You get an unreal downwards whip off of the top of the first drop, and it is a good spot for the cobra roll.
