List the parks you have visited in 2010
noticias24 replied to Groteslurf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Time to change this to 2011! -
I particularly would recommend going with a travel agent, but always be sure to check directly with the cruise line to compare prices. A travel agent is likely to get you onboard credits, a free excursion, etc. It depends on the agent, but either way, booking a cruise is really easy because everything is just in one place, so if you forget to book something like a excursion or a soda package you would still be able to do that while you're on the ship.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
noticias24 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm planning on going the 17th to the 20th of may, so it would still be a week before Memorial day, any clue about how crowds are that week? the park says it will be open from 10 am to 6 pm so Im guessing they should not be too bad. -
Retro Photo TR: Islands of Adventure 1999

Thanks for posting this, I really like to see "old" photos of theme parks and compare them to how they are now. Would love to see the Dragons with brand new paint again... -
Weekend trip help
noticias24 replied to KBrylczyk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have no idea on how the crowds are the days you're going, but you could always buy a quick queue in BGE so even on a saturday that would work. That way you leave KD, which doesnt have fast passes of any kind, for sunday and get lower crowds. -
Post your milestone coasters
noticias24 replied to bgwfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My 50th coaster was Deja Vu, at SFMM. -
First of all I am not in any way a Potter fan, hell I just read one of the books. But I think you said yourselve that they are missing a big opportunity to introduce people to the franchise, and here I agree with you. The only thing I said is that they may eventually try harder to appeal to the non Potter fan. Yeah I see what you mean that is really difficult to explain those things if you have not read the books and such, but in the end the land is built around magic and that sort of thing that is pretty well known.

Favorite Dark Ride
noticias24 replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorite is Indiana Jones at Disneyland, the first time I rode it was just AMAZING, specially since there's no use of screens and that kind of stuff. -
I have to agree with Larrygator here. I do enjoy seeing how the Golden Ticket and Mitch's Poll end up ranking their coasters, but I am commited to my own list. What I want to say is that if the majority of people think that a hyper is better than a looper then its their choice to do so. For example, in my case, I would not rank a wooden coaster over a steel coaster in most cases, obvious exceptions here (SLCs, etc), even if they're a great and amazing ride like Voyage. It's just a matter of opinion, maybe most of the people just enjoy a coaster with no inversions than one with inversions, I just think that separating the steel coasters between looping and non-looping could be a little too much. Really interesting article by the way, I completely understand your point of view, its just a little different than mine

Track Spottings!
noticias24 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As much as I would like to know for sure where this track is going, I also think that we'll only know when its painted and shipped. -
^ You know, actually I was thinking that with one season would be enough, but then I hear they wew asking for a second season and got interested in what would they choose to do in it. But if they wrap up most of the show's questions, it will be ok.

^ True but the thing with the gold flash pass now is working kind of differente. The gold pass "only" cuts 60% of the wait time so if the wait time is 60 minutes you still have to wait like 24 minutes or so to ride it again. With platinum you get almost inmediately on the ride. Also it was my first time at the park and I had to go with a tour company which had a schedule so I got like 7 hours at the park and not the whole day, and I had an extreme desire to ride all the coasters I could

I was actually getting really interested in this show...I will have to look for something else now..

I just visited SFMM on a saturday and it was crazy, huge lines, BUT I got a Platinum flash pass and can't even begin to recommend it enough!. You can ride twice without getting up your seat and save A LOT of time!.

Personally I think that Spain or Brazil SHOULD win this one, they are playing real good. As for who I would like to win, being an Italian citizen I think answers that question:p, even though I definitely do not like our team's playing "style". Also I would keep an eye out for Ivory Coast and Netherlands.

What is your favorite launch coaster?
noticias24 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorite has to be Hulk's launch, but Speed: The Ride second "wave" was really good as well. -
I know this is a bit late but I just wanted to let you know that a few weeks back I went for the first time to SFMM using the Platinum flash pass. All I can say it is definitely worth it if you just have a day at the park, specially a saturday like mine was, and don't know if you're going back soon. I got to ride all of the coasters at least twice, since I did not have to get up from my seat for the second time. One thing that I will say is that some operators didn't have ANY idea of how the platinum pass worked. Since I didn't want any trouble with the rest of the people in the queue, I made sure to tell the operators that I would be riding twice in each ride, so they could tell that to the other riders that wanted to ride together that they would probably need to wait 2 trains. On Batman I told the operator, who then started telling me I was not allowed to do that by any means. I tried to explain him how the pass worked but he just kept saying "I work here I know you can't!". So finally I just told him to go ask the other operators, hoping they would know better, and when he finally did, he got to know he was wrong and apologized to me. I found the park to be a really great experience! specially since it was my first real "thrill park", I am from Orlando but there's nothing like SFMM around here.
