  1. ^^Thats what I'm saying. I blew my opportunity. At least I rode Monster Mansion like 5 times. That made it all worth it in the end. The rise served its duty, and they are replacing it. I gots nothing to complain about.
  2. I would say Georgia Scorcher that I would really enjoy riding again. Shockwave definitely wasn't awful. Just really slow operations, and not a ton going on in the ride. I'm glad I have a Togo credit though!
  3. On New Hotness I got to ride quite a few stand-ups. I really, really hated Green Lantern at SFGAdv, it was just really painful and not re-ridable. And Shockwave, (?) the Togo-Standup at King's Dominion, was pretty bad, too. Not nearly as bad as Green Lantern. It was loads more comapct, which I actually liked. Mantis at Cedar Point doesn't do anything for me, I've been to Cedar Point three times and only been on it once. On the contrary, Georgia Scorcher at SFOG was actually really enjoyable. One of my favorites in the park for-sure. It was really forceful, but not painfully so. I think Stand-Ups *can* be more than a gimmick when they are built like Scorcher, or even Riddler's Revenge as I've heard. I do not, however, think we will see any new ones, mainly because of how low occupancy they are.
  4. The ride is just ludicrously long, in a good way. Always sticking low to the ground, no big, big hills, but it still looks fantastic! I was just surprised at the length of the ride; I didn't know when it would end. Element after element, after element. It really seems to have everything.
  5. All I want to do is go to Tokyo Disney; it is a dream of mine. I will hopefully be going next summer. I could spend a week there just enjoying the whole experience.
  6. 18/21; some of the clubs had me mixed up, and they should have been easier ones.
  7. - What parks/dates you are available for I would assume the 21st at Cedar Point would work. I can't afford a whole weekend away from college, not do I want to get a hotel for the night.
  8. Can you do just one of the two days, or do they expect you there both days?
  9. The view from these rides alone would make the trip worthwhile. The amount of effed up moments, coupled with this...it's just fantastic to read about.
  10. As it stands right now, this park offers almost a full day of fun if you include the water park. A few more big attractions like the wave pool, etc, etc. and this place could really take off. I have always enjoyed my time here, though I do think the Wally Cards are a big scam. Not being able to buy ANYTHING with cash is a bit on the ridiculous side. That is a whole 'nother issue. I am very excited to see some of this expansion come to form in the coming years; any word on where the Magic Express is going to be?
  11. Hahaha, I've been intrigued by this TR forever! And I finally am going to be have the ability to trek out there. So I wanted an opinion!
  12. I have really wanted to make my way out to this place for this Haunt; I only live like 3 hours from it; it looks like it would be a ton of fun. How long did you guys spend there? Was it worth the money/would it be worth the drive? Does anyone know if the coasters have been all open for previous events? Or at least Blue Streak?
  13. The first time I've been able to read a TR and actually get all the little jokes, etc! A very nice condensed version of the whole experience; I just love looking at all my pictures and being able to describe the whole situation around it clear as day. It's a ton of fun. P.S. Can't wait to hopefully be on this Japan trip next year, pending my parent's approval and the necessary fundings I'll need to somehow manage by then.
  14. The wooden coasters list is very well represented. But wow. Those Steels. What causes someone to actually think Intimidator at Carowinds is better than at Kimg's Dominion? Ridership? I feel like Dominion is more popular a park as a whole. Either way, at least their aren't too many snubs for the best park category. The order is just a bit weird.
  15. For me, I really wanna do the Tokyo tour for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it has been the country I have wanted to visit for quite a while now. And secondly, if I don't go on this trip, I won't have a summer off the rest of my way through college, and even after college, it is going to be more difficult to get 10-12 days off work or whatever. I don't know how long Robb and Elissa intend on doing tours, but I don't want to risk not being able to go with them. Planning my own trip would be a pain, it would be more expensive, less fun, and a bit scary. And really, 4500-5000 dollars for the whole thing ain't too bad.
  16. Robb and Elissa, I really am interested in the Northern Japan trip, but I had a quick question concerning the price. On New Hotness, I remember one of you mentioning the price of Hotels on Disney property being very high. 1. Will we most likely be staying on property (I'm sure the hotels are fantastic). 2. Will there be an option for Quad occupany for the Disney portion? I assume it would be a stretch, but I figured I'd ask anyway.
  17. Yeah I just was on New Hotness and I made a funny and ran with it, like any generally unsuccessful comedian would do.
  18. Well, rather than try to defend my post, I'll accept it was pretty darn stupid. It looked better in my head and after i told a few people and got laughs. Oh well. I apologize now before it blows up in my face anymore hahaha.
  19. I INTERUPT THIS PROGRAM FOR AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT/SPECULATION Cederr Pount is set to demolish (or at least dismantle) Maverick after reports of it not being as popular as executives had hoped it to be. The ride had not been filling trains for years. The park plans to dismantle Mean Streak and relocate the ride in Maverick's plot. Mean Streak will be receiving special treatment thus offseason, getting the same style trains that the Matterhorn Bobsleds currently have. In Mean Streak's Plot, Cedar Point plans to build the Son of the Twice-Removed Meaner Streak, a brand new 14 loop wooden coaster, built by Intamin at a steep price tag of almost 68.67854 million dollars (approx.) The ride will feature a brand new style of covered train where your view of the ride ahead will be completely blocked. As a final bit of news, Magnum will be removed and the scrap is to be used to build 16 kiddie coasters, allowing them to take commanding control of the 'Coaster Capital of the World''.
  20. The place looks aesthetically incredible. Radiator Springs looks like a ball. I am a bit disappointed in the other rides, though I understand their purpose being mainly to spread out the crowds there. Which goes back to the overriding problem. When parks open areas like these, they get INFESTED with people; Harry Potter world still is ridiculously crowded from what I hear. It is inevitable. I just wouldn't want to go to them until the crowds spread out a bit. Great trip report, though!
  21. I dream of going on a TPR trip to Japan when I'm a bit older! I hope, hope, hope you guys go back there, Robb and Elissa! These two parks are screaming for me, right now. (;
  22. I want to participate in the Cedar Point one. However, my parents are being tough about me driving. As an alternative option, I may decide to car pool if the opportunity presents itself. Is there anyone in the Pittsburgh area that would be willing to give me a lift, tentatively of course? I live about 15 minutes from the city and the airport, respectively, I would be more than willing to meet wherever is most convenient. If anyone is interested, you can PM me, I would be so appreciative. I wanna do this, but if they won't let me drive, I want to exploit any other reasonable option as well. -Taylor
  23. GCI makes fantastic coasters with unique layouts and this one is no exception. The theming, as everyone has already addressed, is fantastic. This park is at the top of parks I want to visit not in the US.
  24. Donated 10 dollars to Joshua Felmer from ValleyFair! (;
  25. Hoping to get signed up in the coming weeks. Hopefully all you wonderful people don't disappear from this thread when I do join in. I would love to King's Island in preference to Cedar Point. Need to either find a ride from someone in the Pittsburgh area going (so unlikely) or try to get my parents permission to do it. Either way, I am so impressed with everyone donating. As soon as I get a yes or no from my parents (in CA currently) I will sign up or start donating. Awesome work, guys!
