  1. ^ Agreed, some pointers. If you see the Flight of Fear queue short then go in for a ride for most of the weekend it had a 2 hour line only running one train. It's a great coaster, but only worth a thirty minute wait compared to other coasters in the park. The wooden Coasters have improved so much in the last few years in the smoothness category. Rebel Yell is quite amazing these days. Grizzly is rough, but its built to be rough. If you like roughness it's definitely worth the ride. It use to be better before they removed the infield trees... Dominator was terrible at chopping through capacity on Friday due to breakdowns and only having two trains on the track. But otherwise it was a decent wait. It was worth the 30 minutes I waited for it. One of the best B&M Sitdown/Floorless loopers I've ridden. Don't skip Volcano unless the queue has spilled into the queue house. It's a great ride but not worth waiting an hour to ride. (unless you haven't ridden it then which it is) Anaconda is another arrow looper that has great g's in the loop and sidewinder. The mid-course begins the torture of the butterfly turn. The corkscrews are... standard. Backlot is getting worse with the years. They've put more breaks on the mid-course and the effects are going to shame. It's an OK ride. Sadly Hurler and Shockwave are closed until further rehabs are finished on the coasters. (respectively Mid-May and April 17th are the opening dates) This week it should be less crowded than this weekend due to the fact anybody who calls themselves a coaster junkie was in Doswell, VA. There will be allot of HSchoolers but with those HSchoolers will be the missing HSchool workers that Friday was missing. Thursday should be a good day.
  2. The transition S-Curves are smooth. They have a quick, but subtle pop of airtime to dull the snap of the turn. Not likes maverick's transitional S-Curves from what I've heard. I've seen "one" bad review about these turns and I don't really see the source as that credible. These turns are actually really thrilling!
  3. Great PTR! I will be going to CP for my first time first week of May!
  4. ^ the restraints are "similar" to maverick's but with a cushion of softer restraint around the hard one. These restraints are amazing. BTW, these PTR's are so amazing!
  5. This coaster, in my opinion, has redefined the standard of "hyper" coasters. The focus of Intimidator 305 is a intense ride. I know everybody has been hearing that word allot but its the best word to describe it. And personally, this ride is hard to re-ride. I rode it twice then decided to retire to other rides in the park to get a "breather."
  6. I305 is nothing but boring. Everyone that has not ridden cannot understand to intensity. Unexplainable. About the blacking out. My first ride I rode row 15 and did not black out. It was so incredible. My second ride, I had a three second "greying" moment in the front row, it was nothing serious in my opinion though I believe alot of the GP might complain. The ride is not rough, those "little" bump-hills, gives some amazing airtime. And the OTSR are very necessary. O, did I mention the cable lift is scary fast!
  7. I just rode I305 twice today... All I need to say is If you haven't booked a trip to Kings Dominion, you need to! I305 is seriously one the best coasters in this country. Floater Air, Ejector air, Fresh Air you name it! And that first turn is a must exprience! And the "twistyness"... ... It's awesome. P.S. Front Row is the Way to go!
  8. SFGAdv found that out the hard way last year...
  9. Chuck, I'm sorry for your loss. The Hummel Boy will be missed. **Moment of Silence** Great TR. I hope to begin a trip escapade of my own for 2010...
  10. BTW, If anybody was wondering... And If you didn't know... the quickest way to the Intimidator is... Wait, Why would I tell you. One less person in front of me the better... JK, I believe that the little midway that parallels the Dominator cuts through most of the Kidzville/Planet Snoopy traffic and spits you out right next Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack.
  11. Thanx. I'll be going for three days so I should be able to get in all the rides I need. I'm hoping that the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of opening week won't be too bad.
  12. I've heard opening week in May equals walk-on rides... But I dunno. I've never been. In Fact, I will be one of the first people to ride I305 before riding the original giga, Millennium Force.
  13. I'll be there around four for a quickie if the line allows for it...
  14. ^ That's awesome! I've had a few... (In no order of best to worst) The first time I saw the Intimidator 305 on the skyline of Kings Dominion... First time I rode Griffon and many more...
  15. First Park: Kings Dominion First Coaster: Intimidator 305 First New Park: Cedar Point First New Coaster: Intimidator 305 First Flat Ride: Crypt @ Kings Dominion Least Favorite Coaster I know I'll ride this year: Hurler Favorite Coaster I know I'll ride this year: Apollo's Chariot Most Anticipated: Millennium Force
  16. Here was my last... (October 17, 2009) The Legendary Loch Ness Monster This will be my first credit of 2010 in a week!
  17. Opening day of the coaster! Met with success. The new area was packed with people! The coaster reaches a max speed of 50 MPH! It can turn your world upside down!
  18. If you ever want ones of those "GEEK-OUT Drives like the one on the Ceder Point Causeway" then go to Kings Dominion from the East instead of the west and I-95. Riding down State Route 30 you crest a hill above the The Meadows (New State Fair Grounds) and you get the full KD Skyline (I305, Anaconda, Dominator, Eiffel Tower and Drop Tower). It's really epic and a great way to get hype up for a day in the park. The first time I saw I-305 on the Skyline in December of 2009, It look unreal! I can't wait to ride this thing in 12 days!
  19. I quickly visited the park to see if the new coaster was open yet... A new Flat ride has been built near the new coaster... ...called Steel Lightning! It feature two- one of a kind almost 90 degree drops and a large vertical loop. It opens late next week! Stay Tuned!
  20. I got bored one night... This really isn't a "preview," just something cool. Hyoersonic XLC in RCT3
  21. Came back on opening day 1980 to shoot a quick picture of construction and found this.. As for the new coaster, No name confirmed yet. They did have a teaser poster hinting at the name. it said "Striking fear in Summer of 1980" This is getting exciting! I only have two pictures... Testing the new coaster! They have removed the landscaping and trees near the train shed of Escape from Calamity Mine. I wonder....
  22. The drop section looks mighty thrilling on its own. It would give me a fright. The actual roller coaster part of the ride has great pacing, may have some good airtime, and tight turns as well. It will definitely draw a big crowd. I do have a feeling that some of the GP that do not know alot about this ride may confuse it with SAW: the ride. Dark Ride section, "vertical drop" Just my opinion.
  23. ^ thats too funny! v This isn't. Uh-Oh! KDFansite is on total lockdown. It's never been this bad...
  24. Final Confirmation picture of the restraints, up close and personal. Maverick Restraints + Padding = I305 Restraints
  25. I'm excited for 2010 at BGW! I think the park and Blackstone are making great strides to preserve the BGW tradition. BTW, the new paint on LNM looks great! Clicky!
