  1. This past Saturday, they held a construction tour through the ship which various media from around the city and a couple from out (even a reporter from Toronto!) were in attendance. The paper I work for did a report on it and I did video and photos for the article. The video includes an interview with the founder of this project and the Creation Museum. Edit: Here's the article: Basically, the structure alone is huge and really well crafted. The site itself is very wide open, much like Holiday World, with plenty of room for expansion. They have the giant parking lot built, and the ark itself is about 100+ feet or so away in length from being completed. The tour went too fast for me to pull my phone out for pics as well as shoot video, so sorry i couldn't get enough to do a good TR (I was technically working ), but I was able to get a couple pics in. Still set to open on July 7th.
  2. Some lovely pics from two Facebook posts made within the past few days by RCTW crew.
  3. I'm hoping that there will be a feature where you can change the ride cycle to something like Xcalibur at SFSTL I probably should have clarified on my previous post. Xcalibur is a .
  4. My state is so incredibly backwards it's embarrassing.
  5. Just to toss my two cents in as well, one of my biggest gripes with the game currently is the flow and pacing of the ride animations. The pendulum ride has the design of a Bussink Evolution with the animation of an overpowered Loop-O-Plane. Plus the seats don't swing out or tilt back, which was what RCT3 got right with Insanity (even though Insanity directly references the Fabbri Evolution). I know not to expect them to know the difference between the models, but I question whether they've ever looked up videos of any of the rides to tweak their animations a bit.
  6. Whoops, almost forgot to post mine here as well. Basically the same thing... but with snow! Drove up from my college town on Valentine's Day and got another look at SC considering it has been months since the last time I saw it. The big overbank now gets a little brother! So tiny! Did I mention Louisville received 4 inches of snow on Valentine's Day?! The station looking fresher than ever. I also noticed, after looking through my photos, they kept the gates on the opposite side of the station...? This entire curve is complete now. The piece connecting the track to the station needs to be put in. Airtime x2! Looking at the big and little overbanks from another angle. This small airtime hill will be the next big installment. You can see the brake run on the other side of the station from here. A closeup of the snow covered little-bank. The lift hill still needs some additional parts to it. Another large piece of track waiting to be installed. Looking from across the street at the coaster. Panorama #2 And of course, panorama #1
  7. It was only a matter of time before someone attempted to hit as many RMC's as they could in a season! Looking good so far!
  8. Disclaimer: This is purely speculation and guesswork, I'm not an expert on this... Maybe if the seats weren't facing outwards, but instead inwards? A stationary zipper car would lean riders backwards, and the center of rotation in each carriage is in front of their chests instead of behind them. I'd imagine people can handle more forces towards their backs compared to their fronts. It sure looks like a lot of fun (and great work, by the way)! But I would be concerned with where more forces are being exerted.
  9. Park opens April 30th, so they still have two months and two weeks from now. None of the other RMC's are done being built yet either (Joker getting a much later start), so they still have time.
  10. I'm actually surprised there hasn't been much updates in this thread. Is anybody still following this game? I got curious and popped on to RCTW's social media pages (mainly Facebook) to see some updates they've made since the last post made here. There were some in-game screenshots and a holiday pic. "The Peeps from Team RCTW wish you Happy Holidays and an awesome New Year!!" As well as videos of 3 in-game rides making their cycles. 11. Plus, I'm sure they have the quality turned all the way up for the videos they put out for obvious reasons. Once the game actually comes out, I'm sure they'll hopefully have lots of options to turn down the graphics.
  12. It very much has Louisville colors on it. Not necessarily a guarantee since it could just be a test car they keep around. If this was the case, though, I wonder if the other train is going to keep the blue seen in the concept pic?
  13. That last dev video looked wonderful! I can now see why they had focused on the guests in the first video. The charm and depth from RCT3 is definitely showing through this, as well as the whole new style in the rides, shops, queues, and even the people's clothing styles. I'm still debating pre-ordering this, but I'm leaning towards actually doing it.
  14. Converting the ride into an partial dark ride would do wonders for it! I would think the theme would better suit traversing through the woods after dark, or maybe the sawmill idea posed above (or both ).
  15. That sure would be one hell of a turbo water slide. But alas, water is not needed. That's a pretty incredible view from the balcony! Scary thinking there's going to be a slide coming down from there, but also equally exciting!
  16. Haven't had a shame moment on a coaster yet. But have you ever ventured to a family raft water slide by yourself on a low-crowd day to see if you could get a solo ride? I have. Twice. Both times on ZOOMbabwe at Holiday World. Got away with it the first time (WEIRD experience, and definitely not as fun with not as much weight in the raft and having to sit in the center...). Second time later in the day, I was randomly paired with a father and his son for an awkward trip down the flume. I don't take that chance at water parks anymore, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either. ---- The only reason I keep track of coaster count is for my own personal benefit. Mainly because I'm a forgetful person (at 21 years old) and sometimes can't remember if I had ridden a certain coaster at a certain park or not. I don't boast or do milestones. It's a bit too egocentric for me, plus a waste of trees to print it out.
  17. Kentucky Kingdom, obviously. Had to get it while they were still offering the free drinks promo. Can't wait to see how well that system works out. If I was able to visit Holiday World 3+ times in a year outside of events, I'd have a season pass to there too. Someyear, maybe.
  18. I've had quite a few rides on both MaXair and Delerium, and I also think MaXair has a far better ride cycle than Delerium. The moment both rides hit their max swing "sweet spot," Delerium only hits it a couple of times before beginning to end its cycle, while MaXair seems to stay at max swing for a longer period of time. They're fun ride experiences, but the bulky restraint system is a bit excessive and restrictive. I'm betting the Riddler's Revenge version will be far more comfortable.
  19. They had me at "misters." But seriously, compared to Holiday World's location, free drinks and misters in a humid climate such as Alabama would do wonders! Still nice hearing updates done to this park, no matter how small. I just hope they decide to invest in a bigger attraction soon or next year. Maybe a large flat, or a large major water slide or slide complex. They could really use a family raft slide. Also, when did the park remove their freefall body slide?

  21. Quite happy to hear Legend getting some heavy TLC, let alone modifications to it! Not entirely sure about the ride experience now being relentless from first drop to the end, but I'm sure it'll be much more memorable. It was my favorite coaster the first year I went to Holiday world!
  22. One of the dueling sides were removed, but it's pretty much following the same footprint Twisted Twins used and using its steel support structure with some higher/lower modifications.
  23. ^^Great shot! It looks so much more sleek with the removal of the supports behind that track!
  24. I'm particularly fond of the last pic, which shows RMC really wanted to squeeze-in something similar to a zero-g stall, as well as provide an overbank! Also, the reflection makes it look very pretty as a structure!
