  1. Yes, nothing is perfect, stuff happens, just because you get stuck on a ride (and by stuck I mean just sitting there in a normal position and no injury) does not mean that you should automatically get a lifetime pass to all the parks in the chain... that is just ridiculous. I agree with Jew, this is exactly why there are all these stupid rules and regulations in this country, people think they deserve everything when they do not.
  2. This just keeps getting more interesting, so this ride at 5 different parks has had problems, I wonder if it was the same problem with them all.
  3. During the later years of MW in Redwood City watersides were installed, anyone remember those? And for retro GA, I remember all that stuff. I visited there many times in the late 70s early 80s and remember all those rides.... Bottoms Up, Yankee Clipper, The Lobster, to name a few and of course the train, Tidal Wave, Turn of the Century, and Willard's Whizzer....... great times. And even the dolphin show! I remember as a kid riding in the car from Fremont, going down highway 880 you could see the Sky Tower and Triple Wheel from the freeway.... it was awesome seeing it from miles away. "Marriott's............Great........Amer.........I.........Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
  4. Medusa is one of my favorite coasters, so smooth and fun and im glad the speed has been perfectly 'set up' so it does not need to be trimmed heavily and I agree it has aged very very well.
  5. That is a very interesting statement from the article. I wonder what exactly he was referring to?
  6. Yeah I don't get that. People complain when they put in a coaster saying its ruining the park, and they complain when Knott's (possibly) decides not to put in a coaster- complaining because they wanted one. On the one hand they visit the park because of its "charm" and roller coasters destroy that, then on the other they wont visit anytime soon because a coaster is not going in, preserving the charm. Doesn't make sense. I wish they would just jam coasters in there everywhere and be done with it.
  7. Wow, and I just rode thing thing in August, twice. I see, so it actually takes a couple of hours to manually lower it, now it makes sense.
  8. It wouldn't be much of a safety feature if it could be easily over ridden. I'm sure it is held up there by emergency brakes that are completely independent of the ride system, and it was doing exactly what it is designed to do. The only way is to slowly manually release the brakes until it is safely on the ground. Just like any elevator. Yes but why were people stuck up there for 3-4 hours? That's what I'm getting at. So the ride shut down as a safety precaution and kept the 'carriage' up at the top. It should have been simple to determine that it had stopped safely and it could then be lowered to let the guests off within a reasonable amount of time, say within 1 hour total, but instead apparently again it could not be lowered for several hours... why not? This is what I am trying to understand. If there is a way to manually lower it then why wasn't it done within an hour? Was there some catastrophic mechanical failure that prevented this?
  9. The Today show reported Windseeker will remain closed until the cause of the malfunction is found. Im really curious about this now as it has happened twice. So what is it doing, did it go up spinning then just shut down at the top? And why isn't there a way to quickly manually lower it in the event something like this happens so people aren't stranded for 2-3 hours..... twice!
  10. How about a Rcca/togo with vekoma slc restraints?!! Just thinking about that makes me want to take a painkiller! reading that just made me take a Vicodin..
  11. Pony Express is fine as long as the brakes don't get painted..... again.
  12. Doesn't TTD also have one?
  13. Both of those gates are manual and for both of them to be unlocked with the ride running, for this restricted area, is not acceptable.
  14. That looks really fun! ^What damage are you referring to?
  15. Why, why would you even attempt to work on it while it was running.......WHY? I just don't understand. There is NO REASON TO EVER PERFORM WORK WHILE THE RIDE IS OPERATING! His life was not worth losing fixing something that could have waited until the ride was shut down. There just is no excuse for this. So tragic and needless.
  16. Magic Mountain in Sacramento.......
  17. I second this motion... All in favor say "I" Like they do in Las Vegas when they demolish a building, make a big show out of it with lots of pyro!
  18. This picture proves nothing. Actually it proves that sometimes a pile of trash can look better than the ride it used to be.
