Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
themeparkologist replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Elissa- Not to be rude but you said that GCI coasters are all the same but from the three I have ridden, I'd say that each is unique up to a point, but Prowler is a terrain coaster and an awesome one at that. It's one of very few new terrain coasters in the U.S. and I think that It will fall slower than other GCIs because of this fact. Please dont hurt me. -
I know but most of them weren't caused by the rides but by some disease or condition a rider had and shouldn't have ridden or been allowed to ride. As said, it's very iffy and why I won't ride that car on BTMR at Disneyland. The cars weight killed that person not a disorder. That's why. But I'd probably ride those anyway the credit whore that I am who has an embarrassing coaster count. This is getting off topic.

^Thank you! If they made man-made valleys, this could work to their advantage and make bigger rides in huge holes! (Oblivion doesn't count) -
^Sometimes. With other rides where people died on them It's iffy like i ride Timberwolf at WoF every year and I dont mind becuase that girl died on the ground next to the ride, not on the ride itself. But...on the other hand, I wont ride BTMRat Disneyland (but I've never been there) in the front car of what is it #3? because thats where the person died and I would ride anywhere else on the train because they died there and I'm here. I don't think about roads because am I in the car that they died in? No. I'm in a different car. I'm weird. I have come to face the fact.

Power Tower Model!
themeparkologist replied to thrillrideseeker's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Don't S&S towers have 3 or 4 seats per side? I know Detonator has 3 and Maliboomer has 4. I havent seen a 5 seated tower. Is this a personal addition or true to the actual ride? Anyways, looks great! Are the blueprints 1:1 with the model? Sorry for so many questions. -

Ok here is an update. It's small because I've been working in this one thing for three days and I can't get it right. I need FEEDBACK people! I don't know what to do if there's no feedback. -
Just a suggestion... Maybe 45% of a trip group is priority members that are placed by a lottery/drawn from a hat as in they are not chosen. For 'normal' TPR members (55% of a trip), it will remain the same as it currently is with first come first served with waiting lists. In this manner the membership gets you a set number of lotto credits per year to increase chances of winning a place on a trip that they can put toward the desired trip(s). Sorry that I make no sense.

Oh I see. If that's what you want, tell me or make a comment or something. I thought nobody cared. -
In '07 at Magic Kingdom, a guy from Germany would not shut up! He told us his whole life story in the Space Mountain line! I was so irritated. I got a headache for the rest of the day! It's hard to ride coasters when 8 year olds behind us screamed their heads off. No offense to any annoying Germans.

Underrated Coasters?
themeparkologist replied to Yero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Spinning coasters. Theyre a lot of fun and can be very thrilling if the weight is distributed right: Gerstlauer=two people on one side/two heavy people on one side and two light people on the other Reverchon/Zamperla=the sides become halves I've ridden both it works. But at Primeval Whirl, don't expect it to work(very long lines and almost no capacity). They're painful enough as is. -

You hit the nail on the head! But I'll add some, it may have been said but one time at Disneyworld, a couple came right in front of us in the Fastpass queque for Tower of Terror, and started making out and held up the line for TEN minutes!!!! We tried to go around but were accused of line jumping, until we explained and were allowed to keep our place in line. Also, when I am in a group, they get bored or get tired and want to leave. So now I fly solo at parks. Problem solved. And while I'm at it, I hate those who say a bunch of stupid things like, in the quote, OMG did you know that a train on Timberwolf jumped the tracks? Or...(a friend said this) "My dad was on the design team for Patriot and drew up the plans." Mmm...see my point? I live in northwest MISSOURI not SWITZERLAND where B&Ms are designed!!! My friends are all born and live their whole lives in MISSOURI (except one from Turkey) The person who said this, his dad has never been outside of the Midwest and he lives in a trailer park. No offense but how many roller coaster designers do you know that live in trailer parks? If you do I'd like to meet him. This feels so much like the Rant Thread. -
^So true. A pilot and control unit is needed at each end and one can override the other. A little off topic...but when I go next summer, I'll wait for another train if the teal one shows up. I don't like going places where people died (hospitals and retirement homes especially) but I'm fine with cemeteries.

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
themeparkologist replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well I'm glad to see Prowler got what it deserved. It's AWESOME at night and when it peaks(around 3:00 in the summer) it really gets insane. -
Someone will DIE on this i just know it Someone will shoot me down but it looks like a kiddie coaster on steriods! Does PAX even think about comfort? Afer the bunny hill, the loop looks way too tight and the high forces continue through the fishook and then you hang there and get launched Backward UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!
