  1. It all depends on which park we visit first in Disney World when I go down there next week. My first coaster will be one of: Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, RnR Coaster, or Expedition Everest.
  2. For me, it would definitely be ERT at Hersheypark. It was my first time doing anything with TPR. Even though I went to the park 7 or 8 times this year, nothing beats being able to ride all the coasters without getting out of my seat.
  3. 1. Male 2. 21 3. Steel 4. Intamin Hyper Trains 5. The Voyage 6. Airtime 7. Sitting waiting for a launch 8. Scary-Yes, Thrilling-No 9. The more extreme the better 10. I don't think so 11. I like to be able to see the ride in the queue because it just builds up my anticipation as I watch it run 12. Long ride / Long queue 13. Higher roller coasters which aren't launched (Go over 400 feet with a lift hill)
  4. I can't wait to ride Diamondback and possibly head back to Holiday World for the first time since 2005. Plus I'll get to judge whether the new Boardwalk Extension at Hersheypark was worth tearing out CRR.
  5. Good luck you guys. You got my vote. Hope you win.
  6. I got caught on Sidewinder at Hersheypark this summer. When the ride goes up for the reverse lift, the chain failed to catch so they had to e-stop the ride right after the loop. For anyone who doesn't know, Sidewinder is a boomerang coaster.
  7. Sadly this has been a pretty slow year for me considering last year I made it to around 15 parks . I've been to: Hersheypark (8 times) Six Flags Great Adventure Jolly Roger's Del Grosso's Kennywood (2 times) Dutch Wonderland (Pretty much every day...That's what working there does to you) Knoebels (2 times)
  8. Cedar Point: Maverick, Mantis, TTD Six Flags Great Adventure: El Toro, Kingda Ka, The Dark Knight Busch Gardens Europe: Griffon, Apollo's Chariot California Adventure: California Screamin', Mulholland Madness Dorney Park: Hydra, Steel Force King's Island: Son Of Beast, Firehawk Dollywood: Mystery Mine Holiday World: The Voyage Six Flags America: Batwing
  9. My max was 15 times on Drachen Fire. The best part was that my brother and I never had to get out of the ride.
  10. Definitely Hydra...nothing beats the Jo-Jo Roll...
  11. While I'm not the biggest fan of this idea since I don't really like the Boardwalk anyway, I think it's what Hershey needs to do. The attendance did rise last year which helps them get more money to build bigger and better things. I am upset at the loss of CRR but sometimes you've gotta take stuff out. It's too bad they've decided to remove all their typical amusement park water rides to make a waterpark. But...I was a lot angrier at the loss of Cyclops for the Claw and the Conestoga Wagon for a crappy virtual reality show/The Howler.
  12. The first time I rode the Beast back in '02 it was one of the best woodies I had ever ridden. When I went back last year, due to all the trims making the ride just creep through the woods, it dropped way down in my opinion. I'll say the Beast is better than SOB but only because SOB didn't really impress me outside of the loop it used to have.
  13. It's nice to see someone give a little love to Dutch Wonderland. In the six years I've worked there (which is way too long I might add), I don't think I've seen anyone put up pictures from a visit there.
  14. I'm really glad someone posted one last photo report from this park. Looking at these last pics is upsetting to say the least. I was lucky enough to make it out there the last two summers before I found out it was closing down. I also remember when the two different parks existed. It's hard to believe that it was like that just 11 years ago.
  15. Best - Goliath Worst - Probably Ninja Of course, I haven't been there since 2001 so I haven't ridden X or Tatsu yet.
  16. HERSHEYPARK Park Management: -Head to Fahrenheit first thing. The line probably will probably decently long later in the day over the summer. After that, head to Storm Runner. -If you want to get a decent chair at The Boardwalk, head over and mark your territory. The lockers are unlimited use so you don't have to worry about how many times you go to them. -Take care of the rides in the back of the park (Midway America) while you are there. Most people will start at the front and work back. -Do as much as you can before 1 which is when the park typically gets much more crowded. -Everything will be opened no matter how empty the park is. Ride Recommendations: -Fahrenheit: New for 2008. 97 degree drop which is the steepest in the US. Really good pacing. My pick for best coaster in the park. Best time to ride is either right when the park opens or later on in the day. There is no shade in the line except a few trees so be prepared to wait in the sun. The line moves quickly. -Storm Runner: Intamin rocket coaster. It was the first one to have inversions. They are nothing like any other coaster. A must ride. Try to ride early or later. Line averages around one to 1.5 hours over the summer. -Reeses Xtreme Cup Challenge: Really fun interactive dark ride. You play as either Team Chocolate or Team Peanut Butter and compete against the other team. If you don't mind splitting up your group, the single rider line is the way to go. -Great Bear: B&M invert. Decent ride. The line isn't usually too long except for Saturdays during late June and July. -Lightning Racer: Racing and dueling woodie. Typically doesn't have a long wait. It is better to ride later in the day when all the lanes are open and the coaster actually races. -Wildcat: Much better with new Millennium Flyer trains. Lots of crossovers and great pacing. It is a little rough so beware. Other decent rides: Sooper Dooper Looper (Looper), Comet (Classic Woodie), Kissing Tower (Observation Tower), Flying Falcon (Huss Condor), The Claw (Pendulum), Coal Cracker (Log Flume) Food: -Subway (2 locations) -Famous Famiglia (2 locations): Decent pizza stand -Boardwalk Fries -Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs: Incredibly expensive but pretty good -Tudor Grill: Sit-down restaurant located outside the main gate. Has alright food. Best time to visit: -May or September are the obvious choices. The Boardwalk does not open until Memorial Day so take that into account. -Most weekdays during the summer are not bad. -AVOID SATURDAYS IN JUNE, JULY, AND EARLY AUGUST.
  17. The ride does look freakin' sweet. Hopefully they actually have a soft opening in the couple of days prior to the opening. Come on May 21st...
  18. Hersheypark ---- Storm Runner ...But looks like Fahrenheit is gonna take that title soon enough.
  19. The best drop is definitely on the river side of Pittfall at Kennywood. Not only are you 255 feet in the air but the river is at least another 300 feet below you.
  20. ...off the top of your head you can recite the announcements played at your fav ride
  21. The Comet at Hersheypark this past weekend. It felt so good to finally get back on a ride after the long winter.
  22. The first time I went to Blizzard Beach I actually chickened out in line for Summit Plummit, the only time I've even backed out of an attraction. But rode it 30 minutes later and loved it.
  23. I'm really not sure what got me into roller coasters. I'm pretty sure that it all goes back to my parents who ride them. We live about 40 minutes from Hershey and it all started there.
  24. It's too bad they couldn't have gotten the ride open in time for Springtime In The Park since I'm not able to go to the park after this weekend until around Memorial Day. But it's still a great addition to my home park.
