I wish I was more of an enthusiast when I was last in Austrailia! We spent like 2 days in Melbourne shopping, checking out that nice Casino (where I met George Clooney opening up the Planet Hollywood!) and doing other "natural" site seeing. We'll be in Australia within the next few years! I can't wait! Elissa "although it's a bummer you can't climb Ayers Rock anymore!" Alvey

All I can say is good luck... Public Transportation between major cities is pretty sketchy at best. Have you looked into just renting a car for the day? You can rent one on in Manhattan, drive immediatley OUT, then you'll be coming back later at night with less traffic. Elissa "again, good luck!" Alvey

Questions about Trip Planning in Florida in October
SharkTums replied to Matthieu - News Parcs -'s topic in Ask Alvey
I've had Newark airport take me 45 minutes and 2.5 hours! (as a US Citizen) Don't let it stress you out too much though as there are tons of flights from Newark to Orlando every day. As long as you are on the same airline from Newark to Orlando as you were from France to Newark they will take care of you. I think Reed answered the rest of your questions. October is really a great time to visit! A lot of us will be there! Elissa "Halloween Horror Nights and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party are awesome events!" Alvey -
No matter how many there are you have the same chance as everyone else! The TPR Team watches each video at the same time, under the same circumstances. Send it in! Elissa "Almost video watching time!" Alvey

TR: Six Flags Astroworld 4/10/05
SharkTums replied to Rastuso's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Maybe it's still early enough in the season that the ride ops still have that 'youthful energy' to them. It will be gone very soon. Glad your son had a good time getting on some new rides...what's his coaster count up to nowadays?! Elissa "Heck, Colossus has been running 1 train for about 4 months now!" Alvey -
Luck is most of it, the other part is knowing someone. I wonder with this kind of 'rushing' to get it done in time for the 50th if it will even have normal soft opening. It may just have Cast Member Previews. Start finding and sucking up to the cast members now! Elissa "I'll post if I hear anything, but I'm not really in the Disneyland loop!" Alvey

That's okay, you can love him! But then you get to deal with him! Elissa "that means you have to put out!" Alvey

^I never found the Florida weather that bad!!! Keep in mind that I would go from: Air Conditioned House to Air Conditioned Car to Air Conditioned Work/School to Air Conditioned Car to Air Conditioned House Repeat. If you have to be outside...then you'll be in for some serious suckage! At least when it's really hot it will pour at like 4pm and cool you off for like 15 minutes! Elissa "but then it turns into a greenhouse!" Alvey

Hmmm... Looks like someone should have paid more attention to our site (especially the Sea World updates!!!)... http://www.themeparkreview.com/flfall2004/swo1.htm Great TR's! I hope they'll switch out Twister and Backdraft, I like Backdraft so much more! Elissa "haha to riding in the front row!!!" Alvey -
Best Drops....
SharkTums replied to BiCoastal Kid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I totally just posted about this in the Best 1st Drop...said it was hard to pick and I wanted to list any drop on a woody! That being said...Jack Rabbits Double Down & Cyclops' Psycho thing! Elissa "drop rides...Acrophobia & Blue Fall are insane!" Alvey -
Gosh this is a hard one! I had totally forgotten about Grand National till someone else posted about it! That's a pretty good drop, I also would say that Colossos is up there too. Come on NE Cyclone guys...that first drop is awesome!!! It's so ungodly painful in a way new way each season when they reprofile it that it's got to be up there! When are we doing the topic for favorite *any* drop on a Wooden coaster? Then I'd say: JackRabbit @ Kennywood and Cyclops at the Dells would be up there! Elissa "Mmm Cyclops" Alvey

Ok, so I was bored in the car yesterday going to Knotts so I was trying to think about good theme parks...DisneySeas came up, and I remembered how much I loved Journey to the Center of the Earth. Then we saw some ad for Universal and I remembered Jurassic Parking. So logically in my brain I came up with IOA's next ride. We had all heard those rumors for so long about the "jeep safari adventure". Can you imagine how awesome they could do a 'jeep' ride using the Test Track/Journey technology!?!? Man, I think that could be one of the best rides ever. You could have it go around corners fast like Test Track, drop over cliffs like Journey coming down the volcano, it could really be done well. Sorry for my geeky moment...I had to occupy my mind with something to try and ignore the fact I was going to Knotts and figured I'd share! Elissa "if they don't get that, they better get my Captain America Intamin Hyper Coaster!" Alvey

The PSP really appeals to a different crowd than the DS. For example we asked the kids (ages 10 & 14) this weekend how they were enjoying their DS's from Christmas and they still love them. When we asked about the PSP they didn't even know what that was and said no one at their school had one but everyone had DS's. Nintendo has always catered more to the younger crowd and Sony to the older crowd. For me, I prefer the 'kiddie style' games on the DS to nearly anything Sony has. Elissa "will play the PSP when Katamari comes out for it!" Alvey

That's why he needs more people to input the wait times...although come to think of it, my 'average' wait time for Dragons is probably about 3 minutes! Elissa "tries only to ride when there's no wait!" Alvey -

Awesome TR! It's funny it sounds like you and I have nearly the same take on all the rides at Universal Studios! I think Mummy is in my Top 10!!!! Elissa "but I'm mad at you for not going to Mythos!" Alvey -
