Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
SharkTums replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Honestly, THIS IS A GOOD THING! It's a ride, and a damn good one from what Robb said of the Thorpe Park one! As Robb and I walked around SFMM on Saturday and realized that the last flat ride they got was a TILT A WHIRL, you realize that adding some of these new generation flat rides is a good thing! CP was lacking in the newer flat rides and they seem to be doing something about it, this is a GOOD THING! Heck, maybe I'll go this year since it seems like not as many CP Fan Boys will be there! 2007, they'll all be back! -

"Mack new age powered coaster"
SharkTums replied to rosscoe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think it's for Monsters as from what I hear that ride is pretty much done and used the old Intamin system... I love the Mack Powered Mine Trains, even if they aren't credits! -
Yeah and Silver Bullets loop is 105', weird that it's the tallest, but has one of the smallest loops! I guess this could maybe be good?

Awww, I miss Wild One! Almost any park can be awesome when it's that dead, but I agree I always liked SFA! -
I think I see what he means, it looks like it's 'drunk' and leaning back!
-
I got it done in 2000 or 2001, so I'm pretty sure I've always had it in the updates...not sure though.

No, I wasn't flipping anything off, I was doing the choke thing...I know, beam me back to the mid-90's!

I don't like Hershey Park, and I think Lightning Racer is one of the most overrated coasters on the planet.

Sheikra VS Oblivion
SharkTums replied to dc006f5086's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah Shakira in the 3rd row is awesome! Oblivion doesn't have that sort of hang time! I like dropping into the hole on Oblivion and everything, but Shakira does that in its second drop so they're both pretty similar. Kip, I remember what you're talking about and I believe you're still correct, Shakira claims to have a 90 degree drop but it's not. -
Final Destination 3

Love that it's a Vekoma ride... Kind of annoyed that it looks so cheesy compared to the plane crash or car scene from the previous two movies though. -

I really like this idea! -
I still wouldn't say we're 'famous' by any means, but I really love it when people come up to us and say hi! On the Europe trip it was great being in these far away places and having people say; 'are you Robb & Elissa from America?" It's very humbling to realize that you have an impact on people around the world. Now there's the good meetings like that, and the bad ones! Like being recognized at a McDonalds in the middle of nowhere Indiana! That was just creepy! The only other thing I'll say about this is a lot of times we get "oh I saw you guys, and watched you, but didn't want to say hi or introduce myself". Please, Please, PLEASE, come over and introduce yourself! We don't bite (hard).

Robb, Elissa, Wes, & Katie on In The Loop!
SharkTums replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ugh, I've been sick since I got back from Florida and today it's even worse. At some point I'll have to go to the doctor if this doesn't get better...grrrr... thanks for having me on, sick or not! -
What did the FSU grad say to the UF grad? "Would you like fries with that?" Go Gators... Anyways, I'm not sure about the English Grad program, I would look it up on some sites and magazines. As for Class size, it's all what you make of it. I had very few HUGE classes, partly because of the honors program, and partly because of selection. If you're coming in as a Grad student, I don't think class size will be an issue to begin with. As for the area, I liked it a lot. Not very Florida like, and a nice college town where there's weather, but not scary weather! Plus there's great food and two huge airports 2 hours away so travel is easy.

I'm not a vegetarian, I'm just weird. My parents like to tell the story about how they had to throw away all of the jars of baby food they ever bought for me! I've been this way since birth! Now, when I do like something though I can eat a crapload of it! Here's a partial list of what I eat: - Plain Pasta - Steamed Rice - Nachos with Cheddar Cheese and Salsa (has to be specific brands) - Cheese Pizza - McDonalds Hamburgers and Fries - Taco Bell Beef Burritos, no onions - Chicken Tikka - Hot Dogs (without the skin, and with lots of ketchup and mustard, specific brands) - Coke/sprite/water - French Bread - Plain Cheese Quesadillas Um, and a few other specific things.

You mainly are looking down because it's pretty hard to crane your neck up to look straight. If you're not in the front row the ride is not about visuals as you're mainly seeing what the person in front of you stepped on throughout the day. Granted I like the Supermen in the back better because of the forces.
