Knoebels Discussion Thread
SharkTums replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm gonna have to go and cause trouble here... Will it be fun? YES! Will it be cool? YES! Is Knoebels a great park? YES! Is this a good addition for the park? I guess. Is Knoebels getting a great deal on this ride because they can make it themselves? Absolutely! From everything I've seen and read about these rides it just seems like a bobsled made out of wood. Which is good, because I love bobsled rides, and I'm hoping that Knoebels will make it amazing, but those of you who might be expecting the next Pheonix or Twister, better not get your hopes up for anything better than a bobsled. -
I know we have on on our Coaster & Ride Footage 2004 DVD. It's one of those rides that is pretty dark, don't think it would turn out very well as a downloadable video.

^That's quite the appropriate pose considering your shirt!

Snake 'befriends' Hamster in Japan!
SharkTums replied to Shockwave's topic in Random, Random, Random
I emailed this around a couple of weeks ago. It sounds all nice and everything but here's my problem: WHY WERE THEY FEEDING A HAMSTER TO A SNAKE TO BEGIN WITH???? ISN'T THAT WHAT MICE AND RATS ARE FOR?? Honestly, Japan went down a notch in my book because of this! -

Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread

I talked about this to Alan Schilke a few years back at IAAPA. I believe my comment was "shouldn't you make the regular one work first". Anyways, we know the park has relationship with S&S Arrow, I wouldn't call it impossible...we know that S&S wants to do it! -
One ride is not worth a trip of that magnitude. However if you are even slightly a 'disney enthusiast' you MUST make the trip! I can tell you personally, I HATE Winnie the Pooh with a passion...but you can't argue that the stupid ride is amazing! Unless you can get really cheap airfare and a cheap hotel try to do more than just Disney and it will really be worth it. Japan is amazing, Robb and I are now trying to go every year!

Do you think we can convince Knoebels that it's possible to build Expedition Ge Force out of Wood? -
Twilight Zone - Tower Of Terror Variations
SharkTums replied to ECZenith's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I believe that DCA is running the Tower 3 program. It is definitely NOT the opening or even 2nd program from MGM's tower. -
That's a bummer...will you ever be able to ride again?

Test - Can you see this?

^^Twister, is it still going slow for you? I had that same problem, reported it to Robb, and it now seems to be working fine again. -
Wow I'm impressed that I've converted so many! There are so many people I'd like to thank...but screw that!!! Good job fellow credit whores!

Dear Theme Park Review Users! Remember that outage we had a few days ago? Yeah, that was not cool, huh? Well, in an effort to ensure that won't be happening again, we are moving TPR over to a "dedicated server." Unfortunately that means we will have to pull the site down for a few hours and it might take up to 24 hours for the new settings to take effect for everyone. The site will go down around 10pm PST (California time) and for most people, it should only last a few hours. Thanks again for all your support and we'll have a new and improved site (hopefully!) when it's back up and running! --Robb Alvey

I haven't ridden it in about 3 years but I was really suprised by it! I don't really like the morgan hypers but for some reason this 'junior' sized one packed quite a punch! Obviously it's no Intamin or even B&M hyper but it's cool!

LOL! I love the media!

Awesome new TPR europe-trip video.

Awww, It's downloading REALLY slow...I'll try again in a little bit! -
Journey is probably my favorite ride on Earth. I seriously LOVE it. Now from what I understand a lot of people love it, but think that Test Track is better, or think that it is a bit overrated. In my opionin Journey is EVERYTHING AND MORE! Plus I love the airtime you get out of the volcano! Tower should be great. The outside looks simply amazing! It's going to be interesting riding a tower of terror, that doesn't look like a tower of terror. Now saying all that...from what I understand it's basically a clone inside of DCA's tower, and I don't like that one nearly as much as MGM's so that will be a bummer if it's true. Not sure on all the costs of everything, but it's worth every penny!

^I don't think Robb was trying to talk up our videos...I thnk it's moreso he just gets really frustrated watching bad videos. I think that this new one is at least better, but I did have a laugh myself when the train wasn't even moving and yet the camera was shaking! Heck, maybe the ride is hard to film, but maybe it's also a case of people just riding once, and rushing to get a video up? In my opinion it takes at least 3 or 4 rides to get a good POV: -One ride to learn about it, know the forces, etc. -One to film a complete POV -One for the indoor sections (maybe night shot, etc.) -One to get some of the surroundings down Please don't get discouraged from what Robb wrote...he's just really picky! We all learn somehow!
