  1. ^Hey at least you guys have been picking up a bit! And don't dream for a B&M, the way they've been going lately it will just be a cookie cutter clone! LOL - An Australia commercial just came on TV while I'm typing this!
  2. ^Sorry to rain on your parade a bit, but come on! Australia needs more than an overhyped mouse and a nearly cookie cutter El Loco to really stand out on the coaster map. It's good that you're at least getting more stuff, but I wouldn't call this one 'special and unique'.
  3. ^There were two sides of slides, they looked identical. The side that was open had two 'full size' slides that curved a tiny bit before straightening out and one child's slide that just went down and was about 2/3 of the height.
  4. ^Don't feel bad for Takabisha...it will have plenty of other records! - Longest wait for a ride ever. - Ride that closes in the rain faster than any other. - Largest track length to capacity ratio ever. - Most small cakes devoted to a coaster. And more!
  5. ^That's one of the reasons I cited. And if Wet n Wild thought it could have made money elsewhere they would have moved to a different location. I think they realized they were too big for the city. This smaller water park off the strip has a better chance.
  6. Holding breath starting now....
  7. I don't really follow much of Phantasialand updates...do we know what this construction is for?
  8. I'm starting to rethink this "Orlando Group" if you're all just going to recite preshow spiels!!!!
  9. Pretty much what I said a couple of pages back, thanks for the confirmation Shane!
  10. ^I'm not an expert, but I think the problem with Wet n Wild was a few things: - On the strip so locals avoided it and tourists didn't go to Vegas for a water park - Land was worth a ton of money before the big downturn - Too large a park to support I think this new project has a ton of potential, hopefully they do well!
  11. ^Thanks Larry! Keeping my fingers crossed for some soft opening love of Grizzly next year!
  12. ^It will be similar from last year.
  13. ^That's exactly what happens! We rode the one at Park City one day, then the next day you could barely see it due to snowfall. The day after that we watched as employees basically dug it out all morning before it opened in the afternoon. Kind of funny!
  14. It's always a pretty safe bet that we'll do some sort of Japan trip! Right now we're looking at one for 2013 that would hit Tokyo and head north!
  15. And now I'm starving!!! Although I have to ask, I notice that this place cuts the 'wiener'. As a hot dog snob what are your feelings on that?
  16. This looks amazing...but also one step below showing up on one of the Hoarders shows!
  17. ^^I think you're looking at it the wrong way. A lot of people who go to Fun Spot are looking for a cheaper alternative to the big parks/waterparks. They do a few go kart tracks in the Florida sun and then would kill for a refreshing little water park to cool down in.
  18. ^^Someone REALLY wants some crap!
  19. ^I'd rather spend the extra money on merchandise! The bigger food and merchandise locations in Disney will take credit cards, don't expect or assume they will though. Japan is very cash based and you should have plenty of cash on hand.
  20. ^You're out of the group!!!! Worst. Preshow. Ever!
  21. Yeah, I can definitely see how it can be 'fun' with friends or family if you're not going for one of the big ticket items. My mom and I went to Wal Mart at 10pm (got a little scary as people started tearing into the plastic wrap!), then Toys R Us, then Target for Midnight. Target was actually the most disappointing as they didn't open till right at Midnight, due to the slow line let in we didn't get in till 12:10, then inside they didn't seem ready, they were missing at least two of the items on sale! The workers seemed really confused and panicking!
  22. ^The rooms overlooking the lagoon with a Balcony were all over $1000 a night. We 'splurged' just to get a room with a window overlooking the lagoon. Yes, we've stayed at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. It was amazing, but not any better than Mira Costa, Grand Floridian, Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach, etc. Like you said, focus on one park on Day 1, the other park on Day 2, then you have Day 3 to hop. Make sure to also watch the website as they'll announce attraction closures months in advance so you can prepare.
  23. ^There are some dates in October that are INSANE because they allow adults to dress up for Halloween. If you stick with week days though, and make good use of Fastpass, go early, stay late, three days should be 'ok'. I personally would do four if it were my first time and I really liked Disney. The Hilton Tokyo Bay is an amazing hotel, we love it, have stayed there multiple times and will stay there again. It is more convenient to the parks than the Ambassador hotel. The only negatives is that you'll miss out on a few Disney Hotel Guest only perks, but for the price savings it's probably worth it.
