Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
SharkTums replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't quite get the postponement of the announcement. If the death had been at all the parks fault, or a child had died, or an onride death I would understand, but this seems like too much. I suppose they want to avoid the "Cedar Point, where a guest died last week, announced their big new coaster today" headline on the news but if they wait till next month it will just be "Cedar Point, where a guest died last month, announced their big new coaster today". As callous as it may sound, people will get over this quickly as most of us still understand that this was a really dumb decision made entirely by a guest where the park did everything they could. Maybe this being the parks 'first official death' has them being overly cautious. -
Best East Coast parks with coasters for 42" height?
SharkTums replied to coneyislandchris's topic in Ask Alvey
^What a wonderful day you guys must have had at Knoebels! I can tell you as a mom of a short kid that Knoebels is certainly the best East Coast option for you by far. 48" really is the magic number and it will be hard to come close to Knoebels in terms of 'full size' rides for your son. Next closest to you I would suggest HersheyPark. There he could ride a looping coaster and a full size woodie as well as some other decent coasters and rides. After that the next closest good option I can think of would be Six Flags Over Georgia...much farther away! Have fun! -
Robb & Elissa in Japan - 2015!

^Actually, they may! I mean, of course Japan finds a way to make even our worst restaurants acceptable. -

There's always a reason to go back to Japan...but Denny's is not one of them. -
I've always had the best time at the Chengdu or Shanghai ones. Beijing has some of the worst operations in existence and Shenzhen always seems packed and equally poorly run. Wuhan was new and nice but missing a lot. All of the Chinese parks will start blending together for you.

Interesting. The fact that we all have different characters having the same issue after the update makes me think it does have some bug in it. Marge can be used for Monorail stuff so I'm just going to keep ignoring sending her to church.
-
I'm having a glitch requiring me to send Marge to charge 157 times. It comes up as: Make Marge Go to Churge -156/1 Everytime I send her it goes down one, but this seems kind of dumb. Any ideas?

You'll find a ton to do then. Stick with the bigger parks like I said. In Shanghai I would make an exception for two non-chain parks. Jin Jiang Action Park is at least somewhat interesting with some decent credits and there's a really nice 'park' in a real park that has one of the BobKart powered alpine slides. It's called Gongqing Forest Park. In Beijing I really wouldn't bother with the two big non chain parks. Sun Park and Shijingshan. Unless you like pain, torture, and being on the wrong side of the tracks.

If you want to have the best day possible at SFMM on Saturday, September 12th buy tickets for our big event! http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php?categoryID=22 FOUR hours of ERT on at least 8 different rides!!!

^Yup!

^A visit to Japan is ALWAYS advisable! You'll need a break from China for sure during a month there. I would stick to the bigger chain Chinese parks (Happy Valley's, Chimelong, Fantawild, etc.) and not bother with all of the Chinese Spinning Mice and Knockoff rides. What areas in China will you be in? The country is giant so if you at least tell us where you'll be we can help you choose more specific parks.

Hmmm, so I'm at the task to make Conductor Homer Practice Monorail Conducting but the game crashes every time I try to set him to the task. Anyone else having this issue? Edit - Just googled and it's a known issue. For now the work around is that you have to build a monorail station BEFORE he can do that task even though you'll get him and the request for that task way before you're ready to build a monorail station!

Still worried about this place but hoping for the best! -
If you do a search you'll see we have MANY threads about getting from NYC to SFGAd. They will all tell you your best bet by far is to rent a car. Once you make it to the park, Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro are the most temperamental so I would head to those after securing a decent FlashPass option for the rest of your day.

Completely agree. A mine train, or even something a bit more aggressive like a Powder Keg type ride would be awesome for the park. -
Looking to buy a house in the Orlando area
SharkTums replied to Coaster Art Guy's topic in Ask Alvey
If you look up the Formosa Gardens area it's pretty much exclusive vacation homes and good location for parks, restaurants, touristy stuff. -

You should write all of your updates after surgery while on Percocet.
