  1. ^ Hardly working. What do you call a baby yogurt?
  2. I would: Put a pretzel loop on Firehawk. Make Diamondback's first drop 90 degrees. Put T-bars on Intimidator 305 (Wait, does it still count if it's under construction?) Remove Beast's trims. Make T2's trains longer (right now it's a capacity nightmare). If location counts as part of a ride, I'd bring Chang back to (OF)KK.
  3. ^ No. What happens when Pinocchio says "My nose is about to grow?"
  4. The world's first modern looping wooden coaster opens, and we know that didn't go too well. Also, the Paramount parks are sold to Cedar Fair and Darien Lake is no longer Six Flags.
  5. A Pythagorean Theorem problem is treated as a Where's Waldo picture. DO NOT try this on any geometry test!
  6. One thing for sure is that drop towers would be super slow and boring, although it would be a beautiful sight to look up at Earth while on a roller coaster
  7. It wasn't THAT bad. It was rough, but not painful at all for me. I actually liked it, but with all the accidents, some people probably say to it, "You are a curse!" just like what 1 said to 9 in the movie 9. I kinda feel sorry for that beast, but if they take it out, at least I can say, "I got the credit (the no-loop one)!"
  8. This has been said many times before and I don't want this post to be a clone, but here goes: I think the Beast has the best coaster ending (the helix is extremely rough, but I don't mind) and the lamest would be Adventure Express (the lift that plays with 1st time riders' emotions by ending the ride). I also like the endings of BLST (going under the queue), FoF (that corkscrew was so fast and smooth), and Diamondback (that one is more about aesthetics than experience). I also like T^2's double in-line twist ending.
  9. Name: Deus ex Machina Age: 19 What is your roller coaster count? 26 or 27 (not sure if you count Avatar at KI). I need to travel more! What is your home park? Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, unfortunately What is the nearest big city? Oh God, it's all around me! I'm talking about SFKK's home, Louisville. What is your occupation? None. About how many times a year do you visit a park (including your home park)? Don't pay attention. About how many times a year do you travel to a park that is not your home park? Once or twice. I need to travel more! When you travel do you go primarily to amusement parks or do you also try and hit other sites? Primarily. What is the farthest you’ve traveled to go to an amusement park? About 5-6 hours to Geauga Lake. Does roller coaster time get in the way of family time? (Do you choose to miss your children’s or family’s sporting events, holidays, birthdays, etc…) No. Do you have any other major hobbies? Some physical and mental workouts, so yes. Also use No Limits. Do you get feelings of sadness in the offseason? Do you even have an offseason? Do you travel during the offseason? A coaster craving during the off-season is not fun, so yes. Do you consider yourself friends with someone you met who works at an amusement park? (Or reverse it, if you work or worked and an amusement park have you made friends with enthusiasts?) Not yes. Would it bother you to go to an amusement park by yourself? Maybe a little bit. Have you gone to an amusement park by yourself? If so have you ever ran into another enthusiast and tagged along with them? No. My last answer was sort of a guess. Do you find it easy to make friends with other enthusiasts? Yes and no. How do you get your coaster news? TPR, news channels, park visits, TV commercials, and YouTube. How many different forum sites do you regularly post on? Just this one, and I'm not sure if I consider it to be regularly. Maybe. If there was a poll that asked a large pool of enthusiasts what their favorite roller coaster is, what do you think would be the top 3 responses be for wood? And for steel? Wood: 1) Voyage 2) Beast 3) El Toro Steel: 1) Expedition GeForce 2) X^2 3) Diamondback Same scenario but for amusement parks, what would be the top 3? 1) Cedar Point 2) SFGAdv 3) Kings Island Have you ever “stole a kid” to get a credit on a kiddie coaster? No. Seems pretty foolish IMO, unless the kid is fine with it. Do you cut other categories out of your budget to make trips to parks? (Entertainment, fast food, holidays, tobacco or alcohol, etc…) No. Before you visit a new park do you research the park finding the best way to navigate the park, get the best deals, or what days to go? Yes. Do you feel the roller coaster enthusiast community is a warm and accepting community, or a negative and discouraging community? Warm & accepting Do you like to talk about your hobby with people who are not roller coaster enthusiasts? Absolutely!
  10. What are they trying to do, drive away customers? Have they ever heard of "tuning it out?" It seems like the wind from the ride should cause the odor to dissipate, and it's not fair for those of us who use deodorant. If jason10 is right, I just might end up having a good time if I ever go there. However, if they throw me out for putting my hands up, I'll tell them, "I don't wanna come back to a park that has such an unorthodox rule!" It seems like they're using the rule as an excuse to favor bad hygiene. Hiding the BO problem does not solve it.
  11. ^ They're actually black holes. The tiles came from the Hadron Collider. If you could shine a flashlight at the edge of the universe, what color do you think the boundary of the universe would be?
  12. SFKK sure likes gambling with their future. Might as well make it a huge big water park. Pretty soon Iroquois park will be a better place for thrill rides than One Flag Kentucky Kingdom if they keep this up. I will not be able to ride on the expressway without enraged feelings for a while. I would have been fine with Chang's removal if they'd replace it with an equally good coaster, but a water park expansion? R.I.P. Dry Park 1987-2010 or later. Hopefully they'll put something awesome in it, but I'd rather have more new rides in the dry park. I'm suffering withdrawal! It doesn't help any that they're not opening Northwest Territory.
  13. IMO, Scooby Doo Ghoster Coaster at former PKI is my worst coaster. It was TOTALLY not worth the long wait. I did not feel safe on it at all because that small door is all that holds you in. It was even scarier than Drop Zone. It was also extremely short and uneventful. The capacity was so bad it made T2 at SFKK look like Diamondback's. Also, the ride op had to push the carts onto the lift by hand, which looks cheap. I do not miss it one bit. Seriously, how can anyone call that a kiddie ride?
  14. ^ Whoever calls him a gay fish. How much can Chuck Norris bench press?
  15. The last coaster I rode was The Beast at KI. I was near the back and it was night. The ride's name is an accurate description of the helix. Pic: http://www.rcdb.com/67.htm?p=135
  16. I say Arrow because my last ride on Vortex at KI gave me a headache . Adventure Express is rougher than it used to be. The only seriously rough Vekoma I've been on is T2, and it's not as bad as said ride on Vortex. I don't remember Invertigo or Firehawk being so rough. I haven't ridden that many from either manufacturer TBH.
  17. When I was waiting for The Beast at KI last summer, the ride op said all these amusing things. For example, they said that in one of the tunnels, there was a hose and it became the first ever underwater coaster and they didn't use all the trains because one of them sunk. After that story, they said something like, "clap your hands if you know that was a lie." Whenever a train was dispatched, the op said it's "launching out of the station at 2 mph." All this made up for the extremely slow wait (this was at night).
  18. One thing that bugs me is when they make hospital patients leave in wheelchairs when it's time for them to go. If they can walk fine, no need to transport them. The liability thing is stupid. If you fall and trip in school, you don't sue the school. Heck, why not put everyone in a wheeled device so no one gets hurt and we would turn into the people on Wall-E. If you've been in the hospital for 2-3+ days, I'd think that walking out of there would give you much needed exercise, but no! The hospital staff have to act like paper will seriously injure someone and force you to be lazy. People are too overprotective these days. If this rant has been mentioned before, 300+ pages is too much to look through.
  19. 5 things to do before I die: 1) Ride the Voyage at HW 2) Go park hopping 3) Get a front row seat at a Colbie Caillat concert 4) More arm wrestling 5) Repent
  20. That's pretty creative. The POV makes the environment look like a flip book and if you stare at it long enough, you may get hypnotized. The target view looks like it drank Red Bull . If you rode that thing in real life, you'd turn into goop.
  21. It's Frylock from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. If you watch the show, that should be fairly obvious.
  22. My park would have a decent-sized B&M flyer, a drop tower similar in size to Drop Zone at KI, and there would be a fast-paced coaster with a bunch of unusual elements where you listen to music while you ride (like HRRR). I would make the whole park be a no-smoking area and really push for maintenance. Other rides I'd have are: Giant Frisbee, decent-sized wooden coaster with a dense layout, and an Intamin Mega-Lite, and a bunch of other flat rides. No kiddie rides or racing water slides, but there will be family rides. I also say no to one trick ponies.
  23. 5 facts about myself (wow, this is gonna be hard): 1: I like to arm wrestle and I often win! 2: I graduated HS in the top 10%. 3: I made sure to get my ride on Diamondback this year . 4: A few years ago my house had a fire. 5: I will not let bad reviews or accidents stop me from riding a ride I want to ride. I may come up with more.
  24. The story behind my screen name is, you see, there's this computer puzzle game called Sokoban (you may or may not have heard of it) where you have to push objects onto goal tiles. In addition to the original level set there are also tons of user-created level sets and the name "Cantrip" was derived from this one super-hard and awesome level set that I played and completed. It's also one of the most memorable and could be considered a rite of passage . The real definition is a kind of magical spell.
