SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread
gisco replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It was already a mall and tenants moved out. They are just renovating it and putting in outlets. Don't recall a lot of retail close by other then junk for tourists and antique stores. -
Why does the weather have to be so nice and I'm stuck at work!

What do YOU take with you to a park?
gisco replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Proper grammar is "an apre battery" not "a apre battery." I thought you would know better Chuck! By the way, what is an apre battery? Back on topic. I like to keep it minimal when going to a park. I like everything to fit in my pockets. Camera Wallet Phone Sun Glasses Sun tan lotion -

Fun family ride but not a traditional mouse. Location is what makes this ride. Do you still have to take that long bus ride to get to the park? -

That will look pretty cool at night except during the Summer, doesn't it stay light past closing? -

I would think this coaster would have to be in the Orlando area to attract enough people to make it viable. Not a lot to see in Florida when you are up 500 feet. -

Looks like the park is making good steps on getting people to stay a while instead of just passing through on the way to San Diego or Disneyland. -
For DK it seems to make sense to go year round. It's like a zoo, you have the animals being trained every day anyway. Why not open on weekends and open a few of the rides that aren't in rehab. For CGA you have the water park which is a big draw and that won't be open so you just have rides. Not something a lot of families will want to do when it is cold and damp out.

It is possible that the coaster could pass through the observation structure making it the full height. In any case it will be the tallest coaster in the world. -

How would you like to be the parent of the kid who could ride it before but can't now? When my kids were little they loved Legos and would have loved to stay at a Lego hotel. -

I don't see this park making it much longer. The past debt is going to kill them. I think what the AG sees is their ability to maintain revenue stream has been diminished by the fire last August. If they had fire insurance then they could have rebuilt quickly but they didn't. It sounds like none of the buildings are insured and the AG is concerned another fire or some other disaster could make the whole place worthless. This whole law suit wouldn't be happening if they were insured. -

So is this the coaster that was talked about a year ago? -
I remember years ago that there was talk of imploding the hotel and build a new one more out on the strip. Moot point when they did the remodel.

This season has been better then the last couple. But I really dislike them bringing back previous players. It worked this season because they were paired up. Is it just me or does it seem like the eat a lot better now? They don't seem to be complaining as much about being hungry and you never see them out fishing.

Nice report so far. I visited those parks last year and even one full day at knoebels is not enough for a first timer. I look forward to going back and catching Flying Turns next time around. -
