Portable Coasters

Totally happy I did the add-on, I was thinking of just Great Adventure on my own, but this was so much better. El Toro was almost more than I could take, I took a break during ERT planning to go back and then realized I just couldn't handle anymore rides. The walkbacks were way beyond what I was expecting, I mean as close as some of these walkbacks get, this was probably as close as you can get while the coasters are actually running. Great way to end the NE trip, looking forward to next years trips.

Ok, now that I have totally forgotten everything about the trip, let's put up another update. Ok, so I remember heading out in the non-Brian bus and getting to the park, which looked awesome from the parking lot. We had ERT on Nitro, Dark Knight, I seem to remember riding Batman, and Green Lantern (I stood up the fear, and fear hurt me), and then we got first on Kingda Ka. I loved Nitro, was disappointed by Kingda Ka, Green Lantern was rough enough to be a one and done, Dark Knight had the lights on, Batman was Batman, and it was pretty awesome to kill that many credits during ERT and still have the whole day, with a Qbot too. Got our Qbots at the exit of Ka and made our way through the credits. Really nice park, which was great cause this was gonna be a long day. Ok, lunch was lunch, there was beer, Q and A, prizes for the lucky, and then they told us we could do a photo walkback of Nitro, which was amazing, but then after that walkback we were told that, if we wanted to, we could also do a walkback of Kingda Ka, awesome! The walkbacks were cool, cause the people conducting our walkback were really into coasters too. I Know this is the most boring report ever, but I really have a bad memory and pretty much all the days from the trip have melted down into one huge memory of what appears to be just one very long park day with endless coasters and lots of beer. El Toro ERT, amazing, I rode as long as I could take it, but El Toro beat me after about 8 rides in a row, that thing is a beast! Headed back to the bus, back to the hotel, I know a lot of people were like "I don't want the trip to end.", but dude I was so ready to go home. Packed up, had to buy an extra bag for all the crap I bought, checked both bags, cause I didn't wanna carry anything around the airport, and headed home. Trip over, yay...trip over, boo! So, pictures, I divided this up into three parts, first before lunch, then Nitro tour, then Kingda Ka tour and anything after that. I took a lot of picture of Nitro, which killed my phone battery, so fewer pictures of Kingd Ka, not to mention the fact I was about to have a heat stroke after the near 2 hour photo tour. I eventually was able to recharge my phone, I learned at previous TPR events to bring a wall charger just in case, so there are a few pictures from after the Ka walkback. Ok, installment one. Looks like it's gonna be a Six Flags day! Really, I'm totally outta captions...and beer, the two may be related. "Why did the vegan meat cross the road?...To prove it wasn't chicken!" No, he didn't say that. I heard it from somebody, no wait that was me, yeah...moving on. Nerds by the busload. Actually it's a cargo shorts enthusiast convention, true story. Remember that game Lemmings? Yeah, I'm pretty sure if Robb walked off a cliff... You can be whores, just not prostitutes. Did I say cargo shorts enthusiasts? I mean sign enthusiasts, we love a good sign, and honestly who doesn't? Fly up to fear... in this jet, I dunno. Stand up to beer...fear, I mean fear. Beer might actually make you fall down. The loop is yellow...WHO CARES! Thumbs up to fear, or something. As you can see, we got ERT, Extreme Rider Trauma. Ok, maybe not extreme, but it hurt! Some people act like El Toro was created by God himself, we shall see. I think I just saw god! He said he named it "El Toro", cause cows are delicious and we should all eat them, true story. I took this picture while I was walking on the water after seeing god during my El Toro ride, true story. A little light credit whoring never hurts. I bet that's a fun ride. I know this has probably been said before, but does that look like huge hands getting a giant boob credit to anybody else? This is what my daughters refer to as "baby" cars, cause they have obviously not grown into full size cars yet. Ok, that's if for the before lunch section, I'll get to work on the next installment.

L.A. County Fair 2011
fatdaddy replied to redmenace8's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Gregg, they are all worth it, or else we would all stop riding boomerangs, and Elissa would stop riding spinning coasters! You could alwas put him on the spacehip kiddie coaster, or the snake, both are wheel lifts, not powered. I assume he has the Crazy Coaster. -
OK, so when I did the last installment I had forgotten that I put more pictures in a seperate folder, so I had to get them resized and edit um down. So, we left The Great Escape, I guess Robb had heard about this little coaster up the street at some kiddie park called Magic Forrest. When we saw Uncle Sam, we knew we were there. I can't even describe all the weird and wonderful "theming" that was everywhere, like someone puked up all their distorted memories of theme parks from their childhood all in one place. Then we saw it, Roller Coaster, a credit even Big Mike would be proud of. So, we loaded up, and um, well look up Robb's video of it, I had the pleasure and shame of being one of those on the first train, and one of those who had to get off. At, least I got front on the next train. So, I headed over to the gift shop and was really surprised to see all the "Magic Forest" merchandise, I got a couple magnets, and headed for the bus. Took some pictures of the randomness that was in the parking lot, and we were off to Carrabba's. ...and Peter Weller as the voice of RoboMoose. Restaurant open, now serving horse and buffalo! Giant statue of Neil dressed as a lumberjack, WTF?! This would be a really cool setting for a slasher film. The picture is blurry because we are in space. Roller Coaster, why yes I am enthusiastic about roller coasters, you might even call me a roller coaster enthusiast. Man, this kid in front of me is kinda big. Robb sets up a camera for what is supposed to be just another kiddie credit, unaware of the epic events about to unfold. A lot of beef on the hoof here. And then, three rollbacks the coaster kinda didn't come all the way back into the station, so those of us in the back car had to take one for the team and get off. Just look at Robb video, you'll see what I mean. It was a pretty good sized loop for a kiddie. So fast, you couldn't even get a clear picture of it. Also, note the random giraffe head. Yes, they made it back to the station, we may have had trouble getting up the lift, but at least we didn't valley it. And you can tow this behind your car too, AWESOME!!! I would love to come back her and just stare at all the weirdness. Your a bunch of credit ho ho ho's! Uncle Sam wants you...to get the hell off his kiddie coaster! Located on Bloody Pond Road. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to dip my bread in that, or if there was a rodent problem. I'm joking of course, but really I was supposed to dip my bread in that stuff right? It was a farewell dinner, except I wasn't leaving yet. In some countries this would mean they're married. Ok, so then on the bus, and next up is my last day, Six Flags Great Adventure!

Ok, food cooking, lemme see if I can finish this before it's done. Lot's of airtime. Comet was one of my trip highlights, really was not expecting it to be so awesome.. A little village, there are no little people...because I murdered them! Just kidding, a cat actually ate them, true story. There was a cave behind this waterfall. Being an old fat guy, I can tell you, ANYTHING is better than running! Since you don't give credit, what'll you give me for deez nuts? The cave behind the waterfall, not the first time I've gone into a musty dark hole. Not quite as wet inside as I thought it was gonna be. Lemme see, what's that woman's name, oh yeah...Steve! The train, if you couldn't tell, I like riding it from behind, true story. Beautiful landscaping, or as I like to call it, weeds. I counting both of these tracks as credits, and that yellow water coaster too! I think Ray Bowers body is somewhere over here. I wish someone would supervise those children on the bridge! Insert random Disney Jungle Boat Ride joke here. I'd like to say the train was themed, but really it looks more like random junk littered the side of the track. Look, an egg boy, let's eat him! I figure if we boil his head, we can throw his brain away like a yolk. I thought that was the dragons tongue, turns out he was eating the bloody foot of some kid who wondered off the train, true story I only went on this bridge to get a picture of the train, really. What a croc! LOL! It's funny cause it's a crocodile! Whatever, moving on. Random train shot. Wow, this is a very long train wreck! Ok, that's it for The Great Escape, but the day was not over, there's more! Ok, I don't have that part done, but it'll be up soon enough.

Ok, let's get this done. As you can see, this coaster is "Primo". "Hi, Im Miss Kitty, and i run the home for alcoholic kittens. As you can see, these kittens are totally smashed." Please donate and help kittens like this one, who loves Jager and won't stop singing Lady Gaga. Here at The Great Escape, we put our hangin' meat on display. Turns out this steak is vegan, it's made out of wood, but then all vegan meat tastes like sawdust. It's very important to teach your children the joys of nice bloody steak at an early age. "Yes son, the cows soul went to heaven, but it's tastey tastey body is still here so daddy can have a Whopper." No, I'm just here to check on her grandmother...really! I have no idea how that lace got torn from her dress. Come on red riding hood, tell um I'm innocent! No really, she was a statue, so I could feel her up all I want, er...moving on. Ever been Googled by a man on a bike in public? I liked the theming, and the ride was so slow that you actually had time to see it. Not only does this ride have some sexy curves, but it also has two asses. Donkeys? Mules maybe? You've heard of the helix of death, well this is the lifthill of boredom. Yes steamin', as in pile of sh... I really don't remember much about this coaster except that it sucker punched me. Go Fast pass line, cause we know the pain is coming and we'd like to get it over with quickly. These are experienced coaster riders, judging by the looks on their faces, they know what's coming. Any park that has Sasquatch as a mascot has to be awesome. Follow this magical trail of giant M&M's to a land of obesity and diabetis. Kidding, I love M&M's, the peanut kind, cause the peanuts make um health food. Very scenic. Ok, lunch break, one more upload to come.

Ok, so let's try this again, I had a pretty good report written and started to upload and damn if it didn't get lost. Ok, here we go, The Great Escape, I was kinda numb by this point in the trip, so I don't really remember loading up on the bus in the morning. I don't remember the drive to the park, and I don't remember entering the park. For some reasons i think Piers was wearing Superman underwear, I don't know why I know this. One thing I do know is that Comet ERT was awesome, I rode as many times as I could during ERT. Lot's of airtime, fast and smooth, but still felt like a woodie. The park itself was small, a mix of old and new, but nothing like a Six Flags park. It has some decent rides, nice landscaping, a lot of little buildings and fairy tale stuff. We ate lunch, I remember Robb/Elissa saying that we were gonna leave early, some kinda surprise, I think I ate a hamburger. This is a park I would love to go back and visit again. Ok, pictures I was trying to get a picture of Jen and those people and buildings jumped in the shot. Another early morning, but TPR puts the E R T in early, or ertly. Feel free to put that on a T-shirt Robb. This doesn't look very "Six Flags" to me. Heading over to Comet for morning ERT. Look it's Jen. ERT was E R Tastic, quick somebody put that on a T-shirt. This woman has a mole growing on her shoulder that looks just like Robbs head. Had not been on one of these since they had one a Magic Mountain. It certainly looks fun, let's find out. Whitest Jamaicans ever! Kinda rough, a few stains, a little old, no back seat allowed, sounds like a bad date. Not very Six Flags. It was a hat day for Shawn. Most people don't know this, but Shawn keeps a emergency microwave burrito in his hat, true story. Wardrobe malfunction averted, hat day lives on! Total whore! If only there was a vehicle with the hull of a boat and the a$$ of a swan. Ok, break, don't worry, there's more and it gets worse.
-
^I think the issue is that, as rough as it is, there is still always a line, the GP will still wait for an hour to ride it. I mean I will ride it maybe once every three or four months, just to see how bad it's gotten. It wouldn't be that hard for them to have it down in the off season when it's a walk on even with one train. I know that everyone keeps saying Knott's, but with a project this big I would guess that the decision would be up the Cedar Fair. If they every retrack it, I hope they fix whatever problem it is that caused them to put in that brake, it really does kill the ride.
-
Ghostrider used to be pretty amazing, I think retracking might help, but I also would like to see some new trains. Really, if they did the whole steel retrack thing, it wouldn't really wouldn't need to be reprofiled. I can't imagine how fast it would run with steel track, well actually I can, it would probably run like it did when it opened.

Never been to HHN at Universal, would be cool for the first time to be a TPR event. -

I kinda like the idea of driving to wherever the NW trip starts, but I also would love to do the Hotness. At this point if I can afford it and the dates line up right, I would pick the Hotness, with the NW being second. -
Loved the Kingda Ka pictures, by the time we reached Ka my cell battery was about dead, so I got limited pictures. Not to mention that I was about to have a heat stroke, that was a long tour. Great pictures all the way around, and yeah El Toro was amazing, the more I think about it, the more it moves toward my #1.

Ok, note to self: must include at least one pictures of Jen in the next report. Thanks for all the kind words, working on The Great Escape, I actually took quite a few pictures there, so It should be a decent report, and yes there's a few of Jen. Still waiting for the Chrisrad PTR. Enjoying Benny's report, alcohol exhchange update was epic! Thanks for checking out the report Laura, I won't have to tazer you now. Ok, back to work on the next install. P.S Skycoastin Steve, any time, any place frat boy!
