  1. ^I completely agree, but I'm not really sure what could fit there roller coaster wise that would have a higher capacity than Ragin' Cajun.
  2. ^I don't think Kennywood ever released financial information for Sky Rocket, but according to RCDB, it's 2100 feet long and YOLOcoaster is 2200 feet long, so I would guess they would be in the same ballpark with regards to price.
  3. I'm also looking forward to seeing the rest of the parks. It has always been my dream to do something like this! I hope you guys had an awesome time!
  4. My last concert was Dillo Day at Northwestern University. Dillo Day is a Northwestern tradition dating back to the seventies and this year's Dillo Day was my first as the past school year was my freshman year at Northwestern. The "Dillo" refers to the armadillo, as Dillo Day is the annual celebration of the armadillo (I guess Dillo Day was started by some kids from Texas back in the day). This year's lineup included Walk The Moon, Danny Brown, Smash Mouth, Lunice (who unfortunately was rained out), and Wiz Khalifa. All in all it was an extremely fun day full of lots and lots of partying (on a much, much larger scale than normal for "Nerdwestern") and great music! It was a great warm up for Lollapalooza, which I'll be attending in a few weeks!
  5. What really stood out to me is how massive this thing looks/feels (I guess you can't really feel anything from a video). I don't exactly know how to explain it, but for some reason the layout just "feels" more massive than it actually is, and I really like that. I'm definitely looking forward to being able to ride it in a few weeks!
  6. Three that I can listen to no matter what mood I'm in: 1) Funeral - Arcade Fire 2) Illinois - Sufjan Stevens 3) My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - Kanye West Also really, really, really good: Merriweather Post Pavilion - Animal Collective Channel Orange - Frank Ocean Bloom - Beach House good kid, m.A.A.d. city - Kendrick Lamar Person Pitch - Panda Bear
  7. This is an awesome idea. I could definitely see people digging this at CP, and other parks for that matter.
  8. Wow, I just spent a few hours reading through this thread and admiring your pictures. These are amazing! Nice work!
  9. Gatekeeper looks fantastic! I'm disappointed that I won't be able to make it home from college for opening day to snag a ride on this beauty.
  10. So this is kind of a long shot, but are there any other Northwestern students on TPR that want to get together for NU night at SFGAm? I'm an incoming freshman and I've never been to the park before, so I want to be with some other coaster nerds to try to get on everything, but I'm worried that I won't be able to find any one else willing to do so.
  11. Thanks for all of the updates. It's cool to be able to see the changes that have occurred at the park between your visits! I hope they have some of this ready to go when I visit in mid-June!
  12. Great pictures! I love to see Photo TR's from international parks to see the some of the crazy rides and the different styles of parks in different countires.
  13. Nice update, Joris en de Draak looks like another great coaster for GCI to add to their resume.
  14. IMO, adavis's logic contradicts itself. Since every ride offers different experiences to different riders, why is it necessary to rank every type of coaster individually? Everybody has their own preferences on what they like to see on coasters, some people love airtime, others love laterals, etc. I believe that the rankings show how one ride experience is better than the other. I know personally that when I rank coasters, I rank them by my experience on the ride. Since each ride is unique because of manufacturer, maintenance, etc., why should we separate another category of coasters because they are different than others. Unique ride experiences merit a higher ranking in the polls. I can understand the wood poll separation though because of the difference in materials, capabilities, and maintenance issues that steel roller coasters don't have, but who says that a ride with inversions can't have an awesome first drop or a great airtime hill?
  15. Mmmmmm...the closet Skyline to me is an hour and a half away in Lima
  16. Same here, there will probably be around that many from my school too. Opening weekend is busy, but it isn't as bad as you would think.
  17. Great pictures of Intimidator...it looks like I need to find a way to Carowinds sometime this summer!
  18. WDW Magic Kingdom- 4x WDW Epcot- 4x WDW Hollywood Studios- 2x WDW Animal Kingdom- 1x I'm planning on attending Six Flags Over Georgia on 4/15 as well.
  19. I learned that spray paint melts styrofoam and that PIE backwards kind of looks like the rounded value of pi, 3.14.
  20. I really love it when ignorant people say that my opinion is wrong because it is different from everyone else's and because I am only 15 so that must mean that I don't really know anything anyways. People are so ignorant!!
  21. Too bad nothing like this will ever be built in America...that looks like some insane airtime over those bunny hops going forward
