  4. These photos are amazing...your camera must be awesome and you get awesome angles of everything.
  5. This ride looks great...glad to see that it is almost done.
  6. First I must say that this ride looks like a good addition to the Point. It looks like a lot of fun and I have only one problem with it. If this ride is supposed to be so family friendly, then why is themed to floating around a river at an illegal moonshine still. If Cedar Point actually themes it more than what is shown in the video, and there really is animatronics fighting over moonshine, I don't understand how this is so family friendly. Sorry about the rant, and I am not bashing the ride at all, I think it looks really fun and I can't wait to ride it.
  7. A mid-size wooden coaster would seem to be plausible right now. No track would be arriving, just bundles of wood that could easily be hidden somewhere at CP. But, I guess I shouldn't put my money on anything, I'll just wait for the announcement, if there is one.
  8. ^Yeah thats what we understood from what he said, the worker was off his shift and we ran into him while we were leaving and all he said was that there was some guys from Intamin on the island. I'm not sure if this is true because he just said they saw them while testing the ride. They might have seen them before they went to the island, but I'm not sure.
  9. I was at the park yesterday and me and my friend were asking the ride ops on MF about the new ride and one of them told us to look back and to the left on the second hill that goes on to Millennium Island. We did so and found that there was a large spiral staircase and what looked like the metal rails found in the queues at CP. There is also boxes of what looked like nuts and bolts. This stuff is hidden very well and if you didn't know to look for it you wouldn't see it. There is also what appears to be some kind of construction looking things inside the first overbanked turn after the first hill. The same worker also said that the other day when he was testing it there was some guys from Intamin on the island with blueprints pointing at things on the island. Obviously the ride ops usually aren't very well informed about what is going on, but I do think that something is going on.
  10. ^Me too, it is a good way to entertain both the company and some of the enthusiasts like us while they prepare for the announcement.
  11. ^No, I believe he means the size of the rides, not the magnitude of the announcements. EDIT: Nevermind he already replied.
  12. Yeah I guess...Cedar Point needs to read up on park abbreaviatons, unless they really meant Canada's Wonderland.
  13. ^Hmm...I think that could mean one of two things: 1. Could be the chronological order of the press releases for the parks, considering that KD is set for 8/20, CW is 8/26, so possibly CP's will come after that. 2. This could be the height of the rides from tallest to shortest. KD is getting a 300'+ giga, CW most likely a 230' B&M hyper, and then CP which is getting something smaller than that. That is just what I think about this clue. For all we know this could just be CP messing with us again.
  14. ^Then it is a twister...none of this specultation right now means anything, it is just speculation. All that is known so far is that it will be a Beemer, most likely a hyper. All the rest will come with the announcement.
  15. ^Yes I have heard of that before, but I'm not sure if it is actually true. Supposedly when MF was built Intamin made a contract for five coasters in ten years. So far they have built three since: TTD, WT, and Maverick. If you add MF that makes four plus whatever is to be built in 2010 would be five, thus fulfilling the contract.
  16. ^^SERIOUSLY!!! TPR is not a ride...TPR stands for Theme Park Review, the website you are making ridiculous posts on.
  17. I don't know if anyone else might have noticed this, but I am begginning to think this ride will involve water. At the bottom of the Whyte Lightning website it says: Bold. Exciting. Refreshing. This may have nothing to do with the ride, but water rides=refreshing. Aquatrax are bold and exciting as well...
  18. It will also be "themed" to the wild west.
  19. ^^Yes I completely agree with you. A dark ride and an awesome woody is needed. It is pretty sad that a park of this magnitude does not have a good wooden coaster or even a freaking dark ride.
  20. ^Yes, but they also posted "Aquatrax?" on their Twitter as stated earlier.
  21. Well my home park is Cedar Point, so hopefully this will help: Crowds: According to your plans, you are attending on a Friday, which means very large crowds, especially because some of the locals will be making sure to get last visits in before school starts. Thursday night shouldn't be super crowded. Riding Plan: I would recommend that you hit up either TTD, Maverick, or MF first thing. TTD will probably have the longest line all day, Maverick's will be ok, and MF will probably be about an hour. With your early entrance I would make sure to hit these before the park opens to the public. Food: I think the best place to eat at Cedar Point is the Midway Market Buffet right next to the Raptor. I'm pretty sure it is like twelve dollars for adults and that price can't be beat anywhere else in the park. A lot of people don't know about this place and it shouldn't be to crowded. Directions: Seeing as how I'm only fourteen, I usually don't worry too much about directions. I would just MapQuest it. Places to Avoid: It really depends on what you want to ride. When I go to the park I usually skip on the rides like Disaster Transport, Iron Dragon, and Wildcat, but I'm sure you will need to get all of the credits so try to hit those around around noon-ish to late afternoon to get all of that out of the way. Can't Miss: Obviously you shouldn't miss the main coasters like TTD, Maverick, MF, etc. Other than the coasters Cedar Point doesn't offer much except for Power Tower, MaxAir, and Skyhawk, and of those I would recommend Skyhawk over the other two, but that might just be me. I hope I was helpful and you have a great time on your trip!
  22. Best Ending (in no particular order): Diamondback-I really like the helix and drop into the splashdown Ravine Flyer II-The ninety degree turn and dive into the ravine before a few bunny hills is awesome Beast-I love the insane double helix, especially at night Worst: Adventure Express-Lifthill to nothing Mean Streak-Painful, airtime-less bunny hills to end a crappy ride
  23. I really like the station for The Beast, especially at night. The signs in the station are awesome and the whole abandonded shack feeling goes with the ride.
  24. Yeah I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but last time I was there we saw a few vertical wooden poles on Millennium Island. Those poles are very close to Millennium and I highly doubt that these poles mean anything.
