Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV
KBrylczyk replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You should have been by Godzilla's side ever since the second movie came out! That's when he was resurrected/reincarnated/whatever the heck they decided it was and we learned how to control him to protect us from other Kaiju (like Mothra and Rodan). Sure, they still destroyed cities and tons of people were killed, but Godzilla never had anything against us. Now, that Matthew Broderick movie, on the other hand... -

Fort Fun was one HUGE surprise during the Europe 2012 trip. I had way too much fun there, and I'm talking BEFORE the unlimited beer and BBQ started! -
There should be a TPR bash for the Mean Streak Bonfire. Beer, meat, and S'mores for all!

This sounds very similar to The Doctor Who Experience, as well as that Aliens haunt/experience (where they give you prop guns and you shoot your way through). That being said, I'm all for it. I haven't been to either the Doctor Who or Aliens attractions but everything I've read about them and seen pics and videos from have been excellent. I think this could end up being very successful.

Russia to build Vekoma GIB in Sochi

^ Huh. Well, then. -
Looks like those Millie train bases were involved in a felony or two, haha.

Wheels might seem lame to coaster enthusiasts since we are accustomed to more thrilling attractions, but tourist and the GP tend to eat these things up. The London Eye is the most visited pay attraction in England. They tend to make a fortune, that's why so many are popping up. Yup. The High Roller in Vegas is expected to make quite a bit of money. I don't remember the exact figures (Kevin would know for sure) but I remember knowing it will make back its $100 million price tag within a year.

^ I meant currently. Is it really that warm right now?! -

^ I love that ride. Suspended coasters are usually pretty tame rides except for their finales. That one is bugnuts crazy all the way through! -

^ That looks like a LOT of photoshop/graphic artistry at work in that photo. Most likely a promo image. It's hardly shorts and T-shirt weather in Sochi. -
Holy geez, the concept art shot in the video gives a slightly better idea than the still Robb posted. That looks ridiculous. It reminds me of this evil contraption I came across in Myrtle Beach a while ago called Turbo Twisters at Myrtle Waves Water Park. Yeah, looks pretty awesome, right? WRONG. The sudden changes of direction and insane amount of speed meant you were tossed around the interior of that tube like a pair of sneakers in a dryer. It's a miracle I didn't get a bloody nose. I really hope Ihu's Breakway Falls doesn't suffer the same fate.

Movie Park Germany Discussion Thread

First there were Chinese Knockoff coasters. Now we have German Knockoff King Kong 360 3D. Just without Kong. -
Who will break 500 feet?

I'm pretty sure that's Dan's actual job in Dubai. He's just using the other parks as a cover story. -
Knoebels Discussion Thread

Oh man, I got to meet Whirlwind again on the Europe 2012 tour at Fort Fun. Same model, not the exact same coaster. It was run by a psychotic German who decided to let us go through twice, only to have the ride overshoot the sensors and it wouldn't unlock the restraints. I still have nightmares to this day.
