  1. At least it was just a valley and not the train crashing into a tree (looking at you Magic Mountain).
  2. That...actually sounds pretty awesome. Coaster night terrors? Bring it on! Way better than hallucinating a 9-foot tall spiky monster ripping your guts out.
  3. It was a Monday at the end of July. Sure, not a weekend, but still summer break unless SLC Metro does things differently with their schools. I was shocked at how light the crowds were, though certainly not complaining! The Roller Coaster had the longest line all day and it was still only 10 minutes.
  4. Who here remembers my unfortunate finale to my previous Disneyland visit in May? Anyone? Well, in a nutshell, four of the major attractions shut down at the same time and stayed down for the entire night, on top of many other attractions being down for scheduled seasonal maintenance. It wasn't a good way to end the trip. Anyways, we were given two free 2-Day Park Hoppers as an apology, which is AWESOME! Basically we saved $220 per person. That being said, we're gonna be in the LA area anyway for West Coast Bash and decided that we should totes use the passes. So we are. Because we can. Monday and Tuesday, September 8th and 9th, we'll be partying hard at Disneyland. And I mean hard. Like, when we visited in September last year hard. As in the parks are ghost towns and you can ride everything 50 times without FastPass hard. Also World Of Color right up front getting soaked to the bone and loving every second of it hard. Maybe this time we'll be able to get more than one ride on Big Thunder before it breaks 20 times throughout the day! That being said, anyone else planning on visiting? I know a lot of us will be in town for WCB. Let me know!
  5. So since a few other people have mentioned extra plans outside of Saturday and Sunday, I'll throw mine into the mix - The girlfriend and I are going to be spending Monday and Tuesday, September 8th and 9th, at Disneyland. Is anyone else planning on visiting? We can race each other in Radiator Springs, or just abuse FastPass together. Whatever works. We're flexible.
  6. ^ Not in 2011 it wasn't. That preshow took an extra 20 minutes. I'm not exaggerating at all. Ugh.
  7. ^^ What these guys said. You're landing at 8:30 and expect to be able to walk into Magic Kingdom by 9?! You have no idea of the area, do you? I'm not sure if you're flying into Tampa or Orlando, but Orlando International is at least a half hour drive to Disney's property. Tampa is an hour if you're in a Lamborghini. That's not taking into account taxiing to the gate, waiting on luggage, getting a rental car, etc. If you're landing at 8:30, your night is lost. Maybe you'll be lucky and find a restaurant that's still open.
  8. ^ I highly doubt that as it's been widely publicized that the new Lagoon coaster is a completely in-house design and build. It's the only full in-house coaster outside of Disney. Unlike Wicked which was designed in-house but made by Zierer, the new coaster is 100% Lagoon.
  9. ^ The one in Utah is a short length of track that requires a crane to lift the car.
  10. There is no indication whatsoever on what the capacity of this ride will be. Unless you know something we don't. Edit - And before you jump the gun, this is the Free Spin, not the Free Fly model in Sweden.
  11. Hmmm... any guesses? They do reference Six Flags in that article because of X2. Hmm.... Oh, come on, Robb, we all know you know where and you're just messing with us. I'm calling Canobie Lake. So there.
  12. I'm really kinda sad that the marathon dropped so much. They went from 24 riders to 11 in less than 12 hours for a 36 hour marathon. Why even bother signing up if you're not gonna try? GO CAESAR!
  13. Like I said in the report, it wasn't a pain, just strange considering that I was still allowed to hold my phone, hat, and keys in my hand but wasn't allowed to put them all in one bag, you know? I never wear my hat on any rides, anyway. I don't trust it to stay put at the slightest hint of wind, haha. How friggin' intense does that ride get?! Is there a video of it running full-bore? I'm curious to see what the differences are because it was kicking major arse when I rode! It had nothing to do with height. It was the fact that it was a T-bar on a himalaya. I sat on the inside so I didn't have a wall to hold me in place so once the ride got up to speed all of the g-forces were being put on my inner right thigh.
  14. ^ That's a shame. They probably haven't been exposed to the Six Flags ideal of building big rides but not caring about anything else at all.
  15. ^^ The concern is about the line. People see a coaster they'll instantly jump in line. People see a flat with a line, they'll come back later. The problem is this model of coaster and a flat have similar capacity, but the flat would manage it better due to the amount of people willing to wait, if you catch my drift. It's a good move for the park as it will definitely attract more people than a flat would, but it also is more than likely going to result in pretty ridiculous wait times. Again, this is a solid ride and works well for smaller parks. Destination parks like BGW, though, simply have too many people coming through the gates. I'm not knocking the ride itself at all. I have yet to ride one but they look awesome and everything I've heard is positive EXCEPT the capacity.
  16. ^ That's a shame, man. It's a fantastic ride! Last time I was at Knott's (last September) the place was empty and the girlfriend and I rode 5 times in a row, in the front, without getting out of our seat. That was at about 10:30am and we hadn't had any coffee yet, and after that we certainly didn't need any, haha.
  17. Nice little park! Not something especially pressing to go out of the way for, but certainly looks like a place to have a fun day. Cobra looks like a fun Wild Mouse variant, too!
  18. ^ I'll be honest and say I don't want to hunt through your other posts, but have you ridden Xcelerator? It's a better launch, IMO. The acceleration is quicker and starts inside the station. Ka still have a funky launch, but after the initial pull you can tell it's taking its time to get to 128mph.
  19. Dude, Giant Frisbees are friggin' AWESOME! I don't know what you're talking about.
  20. Looks nice. It's rare that you see an indoor waterpark that has that many attractions!
  21. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18656 Herp derp.
  22. ^ Alright, that's friggin' awesome and I want one.
  23. ^ I don't even know what Tornado does. The description and the pictures don't seem to make any sense together! Also, new tweet from Skyline -
