Something just hit me, sorry if it's already been said before. Does anyone else think that it was named Cheetah Hunt because the wild mouse Cheetah Chase is right next door? It would provide some separation between the two rather than just having two totally different cheetah themed rides. Cool logo, too, by the way! Busch always seems to know what they're doing.

^That's a great freshman time! I'm assuming you're on your team's varsity. I don't know how competitive PA XC is, but in New York it's vicious. My Sophomore 5k PR right now is 17:03, which really pisses me off because I know I could've knocked off those 3 seconds.

S&S Sansei Discussion Thread
Coaster Cow replied to Coaster Joe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've always found S&S's business interesting mainly because it seemed like they were coasting off of outrageous air-powered drop tower profits forever so they could play around with less reliable stuff. Interesting development, though, and it'll be fun to see if Larson continues with that sporadic method of innovation. -
I wish I could find tickets for them live, but I have never gotten around to it. Having said that, I'm a big fan of Rush just because of the incredible instrumentation they achieve with only three people. Anyone who says that Neil Peart is not the best drummer in history is stupid. Just flat out. Having said that, I do wish Getty Lee's voice was about an octave lower...

XC season! Super exciting! Just ran a 17:02 5k, then didn't stretch and sat on my butt for two hours in a bus. Ow. In other news, the McQuaid Invitational is next week. Considering it's pretty much the biggest race on the east coast, I was wondering if any other TPR members were gonna be there.

Welcome to TPR! I'm already impressed. I especially like that entrance with the small garden. Definitely looking forward to more! -

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
Coaster Cow replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAhAhHAAHahooohhhhhman. My apologies, but I have to agree with you. Props to whatever fanboy thought that beauty up. There are just way too many factors that would say that a new strata at Canada's Wonderland is bogus, like how Behemoth is still fresh and has bragging rights as tallest in Canada. I really like the name SKYCORE, though, it really brings to mind imagery of a reeeally tall apple remanent. Rant done, peace out girl scouts. -
Crazy Diets and Ways to Lose Weight
Coaster Cow replied to Twister II's topic in Random, Random, Random
I decided to slim down for my cross country season, which is kind of a stupid thing considering I was very fit before and had almost no real body fat. Really though, I found that eating legitimately healthy is a fantastic way to lose weight. My training has me run every day, and I by eliminating all forms of processed crap, soda, and random carbohydrates (rather than fruit and the basics: whole wheat and oatmeal and whatnot), I felt fantastic and pretty much eliminated the rest of my body fat to a bare minimum. If you can develop a love for fruits and vegetables and fill upon those, and just find the time to move, either walking to work/lunch or actually working out, it can be very easy. -
Black Keys opening for the Flaming Lips, possibly the best concert I've ever been to. Black keys were fantastic as always, their live stuff is so true to their style, and their new album is incredible. The Flaming Lips, well... Not my pic, but you get the point.

That, my friends, would be sick to have in your backyard. The color and use of space is fantastic. -
I don't mean to generally contradict all the opinions in this topic, but I really like Paul Reuben. I met him when he gave a talk at the local library, just for the heck of it, and in all honesty, I think he says what he does just to keep things simple. Think about it, the general public has no real knowledge of this kind of thing, so USA Today is just going to make his words seem as flashy as they can. He knows he's not talking to crazy people like us, so he just does what he has to do to stay interesting. I think that overbearing sense of jadedness in the coaster community is really what drives us to think that he's a giant douche. Having said all that, Elissa probably knows more about it than I do, so if he really is a jerk, then I apologize for my rant. But from what I can tell, I think they just wanted a broad range in geography, coaster types, and sizes to show the variety that coasters come in. think about the audience, people.

Just saw Inception, and I have to agree that it is a fantastic movie in all senses. What I found really unique was how they took a potential pitfall in how the technology behind getting into people's dreams work and dodging it by totally avoiding that as a whole. It lets you suspend your disbelief just enough for the movie to seem realistic. Edit: ^Just found a little feature that has a brief shot of the rotating hallway set.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8kCPCx5JXE

Yup: Geauga Lake Darien Lake Canada's Wonderland Blackpool Pleasure Beach Six Flags New England Flamingoland (not a typical SLC, but still technically one) Have you ever pulled an unofficial flatride marathon on a quiet day?

I have to agree with dmaxsba2408 here. Look at more real parks and how they're laid out, and you'll see that none of them throw down rides without plan. A lot of your rides are built too close to the entrance or each other, and the paths are really small. Some landscaping for the water near the splash ride would be nice, too. I like the jungle show thing, though, it's pretty creative.

Yeah, having finally gone to both Tomorrowlands, I've found the difference in flow in design between the two are incredible. Disney World's is wonderfully done and really conveys the whole movement symbolism, while the Disneyland one seems like they just threw together all the popular Disney World rides and took all the symbolic rides out. Rocket Rods fits here, as although I've heard it sucked, it's predecessor was pretty legendary.

Smash Mouth at the Rochester Jazz Festival. You know you're washed out when you play free concerts at a festival for music you don't play.

Opryland USA Reborn! [RCT3]

I'm not a fan of the tile pathway for the entrance. Maybe cobblestone, instead? I'm really excited for this project.
