  1. ^ lol maybe, maybe. Or maybe I was actually stung and I was starting to swell up.
  2. That's too bad. Would have been cool to hang out again.
  3. So originally I thought that my first ride on The Voyage would have to wait for 2007. Luckilly it turned out that my parents had to go down to Indiana for a wedding the weekend of Candian thanksgiving. This also happened to be Holiday World's closing weekend. It's fitting that Holiday Worlds closing weekend was on thanksgiving. Almost destiny even. The downside was that it meant two VERY long 12 hour drives with my parents(one of them overnight). But that was a small price to pay to finally get to ride Voyage. My parents and I left friday after work, getting into Indianapolis at about 4:30 am. My parents had to go to the wedding saturday morning, while I slept all afternoon. Sunday my cousin and I made the 3 hour trek down to Holiday World. I had already been to HW last year, so really I had little interest in most of the park. I was really only here for Voyage and to a lesser extent Raven and Legend. (though we did take a courtesy ride on the log flume and Gobbler Getaway). It turned out to be a very nice day, sunny and 75 degrees. After getting our tickets the ticket lady tells us "don't forget about the new ride Voyage". Yeah, like I was going to forget. Where did she think I was going first?? All told we got 8x rides on Voyage, and 2x each on Raven and Legend. Raven and Legend are fun rides, but I've never gotten a ride that I'd consider ranking them #1 coasters. Very fun, but nothing too special IMHO. Voyage on the other hand blew me away. All the good reviews I've heard were right on the money. I'm a big fan of speed and laterals, so this ride was near perfect to me. It left me pretty much out of breath by the time we hit the brakes. On my top ten Voyage just edges out Thunderhead for the #1 spot. It was the backseat rides tossing me around like a rag doll that sealed the deal. Though Voyage ended up being a bit more nerve wracking for me in a way I did not expect. And that was due to the wasp nest that had taken over the top of the lift hill. I'm borderline allergic, so this kind of worried me. (one sting is not serious though I blow up like a baloon, but I'm bad enough that 3+ stings would be considered possibly fatal). In the front it wasn't too bad. The wasps would be sitting on the railings, and as the train rumbled by they would get disturbed and start buzzing the hill. But in the back of the train the top of the lifthill ended up covered in pissed off wasps. Luckilly for me though they didn't seem to be sting happy at all, and for the most part left us alone. Though the wasp problem did result in a double ride for us. Later in the afternoon the wasp problem got REALLY bad. Probably at least a hundred+ wasps were swarming the lift hill. Because of this HW closed the ride so that the maintenance guys could go up and spray the hill. We had gotten in line just before they closed it. When our train came back in there was only a couple people left for the front. So the ride ops let us remain on the train for one more ride. I breifly weighed my options. I could get off and stay out of harms way. Or I could go for another ride, risking running the chance of being stung. I quickly made the right choice and went for another ride. Didn't get too much pics, but here's what I did get. Any ride which nearly tears the shirt off your back is good in my books. On Ride photos must add 30 pounds though. I could have ridden this all day. Maybe not as good tunnels as Hades, but they still add alot to the ride. Ninety degrees!!! That train is covered in wasps at that point. I loved how agressive and out of control Voyage was. Gobbler Getaway was fun, but I still suck at shooting dark rides. I'd say Legend is better then Raven, but still no Voyage. I have yet to have a #1 ride on Raven. But it's still a really good ride. Voyage was everything I had hoped it would be and more. Canadians everywhere were eating turkey. But I had the better idea. Peeking through the trees is the main reason I'm here. Holiday World, the perfect way to end a season.
  4. What does that even mean? ARe they trying to use Army as an adjective? ie instead of be very strong, be Army strong?
  5. ^ Mean Streak being trimmed had nothing to do with insurance. It was because the ride was tearing itself apart and was costing >$250,000/year to maintain.
  6. How could a park that has a trash can every two feet be dumb?
  7. How many rides have had major brakedowns now since TPR came through??
  8. ^ Hocus Pocus at Chessington. The sign from certain angles makes it look like "House Bastard".
  9. how true that is. I think I would cringe if I still had some of my high school VB projects. I made the game Risk in VB and hard coded the entire thing. I only had north america coded though. It worked, but it used thousands of if statements. Still got a great mark too.
  10. When I read "first time", you're first programming experience was the last thing I expected. But funny enough in a geeky way.
  11. Awesome, good job. I noticed it awhile ago. They would only show for the user who was logged in. Why would I want to message myself?
  12. Good to see that Ted remembered his cooking utensils before throwing the meat on the grill. Though it is funny watching him run through a downpour with Catrina's coat on while the meat burns.
  13. Aren't you a bit old for trick or treating? At leat around here once you hit like 14-15 is pushing it. Anyting older then that and people don't normally give you candy. Which reminds me. My mother would always keep the crappy candy that me and my brothers wouldn't eat. (like those haloween toffy's,etc). She collected them for a few years. Then she had one bag of the crap 4 year old candy, and another bag of fresh good candy. The ugly kids and the teenagers got the crappy candy, the cute kids got the good stuff.
  14. ^^ Not too mention if any don't get to you at all. The last few weeks I keep getting mail from all sorts of addresses that aren't mine. Some have the same #, some have close to the same number, most of them are totally different streets. I think some poor bastard missed his gas bill thanks to our mail system. And I haven't gotten my masercard bill. Hopefully whoever's house it shows up at is nice enough to pay it for me.
  15. Your choice of course. However if you want to run a commercial website and ignore the majority of your customer base, well then that's a really risky aproach to take. Bash windows all you want, but they are the majority. Linux/Mac does not have the same sort of userbase that windows does.
  16. I kidnap 16 year olds who hang out in graveyards.
  17. It's more accurate to say "more than one day in Cedar Point". Because really once you get across the causeway Sandusky kind of goes to hell. Sandusky as a city is a pretty sketchy town.
  18. ^ I'm going to go out on a limb and say no. White castle is more of a midwest USA thing.
  19. ^ They probably ended up at White Castle after that ride, thus completing the circle of life.
  20. I think you mean poor fellow trippers. Just ask anyone who was in the van with me last year when I pollished off 10 white castle burgers in one sitting. We got to the Wisconsin Dells and I almost killed 3 people before they could get out of the van. Oh I also had a medium soda, which ended up being about the size of my forearm.
  21. Was it used as an emoticon? Becuase XD is also a type of flash memory used in digital cameras, etc.
  22. Is that the size of the park, or the land that each park owns? I know shortly after buying Paramount CF mentioned free land at each Paramount park. PCW had a fairly large amount of unused land. I'm just wondering if those numbers include the undeveloped land, as I highly doubt Kings Island is 453 acres??
  23. I'd be interested to see an official stat on that. I really don't see PCW being 370 acres, unless that includes the entire land block including the parking lot, etc. There's no way PCW is bigger then Cedar Point.
  24. That inflatable bug just looks disturbing. Bad enough to scar the kids for life.
