  1. ^Agreed. The green and purple scheme was cool, but thankfully so are the black supports. Will be interesting to learn more about what they're doing with Xpress.
  2. Not to make a big deal of this, but I heard they used to make exceptions during coaster events, but eventually became completely strict. I wonder if it's not because of the design of the ride or train itself, but the surrounding trees (I touched one a few years back). Who knows.
  3. "She's Good She's Bad" - Tora Tora One of the most rockin' lesser-known bands of the glam metal era.
  4. Somehow I'm glad Timberline Twister is staying, even if I have no idea if I'll ever bother to ride it again. Maybe because I used to officially consider it my favorite kiddie coaster!
  5. Not sure I've ever thought to tally up my Wacky Worms. Just went down my list and counted 11! I've grown to think they have a certain charm to them.
  6. Have to agree on Hexenbesen and Tyrolean Tubtwist. Why doesn't Tubtwist get much attention? Is it just an out-of-the-way park? I assume adults can fit on it. I'm guessing it's one of those rides that is fun for sentimental and historical value rather than thrills, kind of like Leap-the-Dips or tamer Scenic Railways.
  7. Those shows always get a lot of press in my local paper since they get a lot of contestants from Portland/Oregon/the Pacific Northwest. I'm not quite sure why it's been so long since I've watched regularly. I've also read one or two of Gunn's books. Don't remember too much offhand, but the last one I read was pretty interesting and funny.
  8. "Not Fakin' It" - Michael Monroe What a wonderful man...
  9. ^Ha, glorified pop-punk acts. That brings back memories. Think I was more into real punk by the time the worst ones were super-popular, though (well, depending on what you'd call the worst).
  10. Timberline Twister was one of the more lively kiddie coasters, but I guess I have no reason to miss it. It will be interesting to see the new developments; I like the rumors but so far the truth seems pretty well-concealed. So Log Peeler was a Mini-Scrambler, I see...never would've guessed that from the name. Gr8 Sk8 seems like the kind of ride that could still be marketable in other parks--not too different from rides still being added elsewhere.
  11. ^^Nice work by the Title Fairy there, I must say.
  12. "Beer Barrel Polka" - Seabreeze Park band organ Yes, it's a polka, but apparently it's about beer, so it's okay.
  13. ^^^^^^^(This post--I'm slow!) Very well said, Bobby. These are pretty universal feelings and experiences in friendships and romance. I know it probably doesn't make it any easier to know it's common, since you still have to go through it on your own, but maybe it could help to keep it in mind. Not trying to be all serious here--just wanted to comment on a good post.
  14. Haha, thanks Ryan. I feel like I should've seen them post that!
  15. Source? I mean, I guess the pic says it all, but hey, there could be an interesting story or historical information. And yes, I realize it's safe to say this probably never happened.
  16. You might want to also check out the home park thread and closest coaster thread. I'm going with the driving distances and lowest time estimates from Google Maps. Oaks Amusement Park in Portland, Oregon: 12.9 miles/31 minutes Enchanted Forest in Turner, Oregon: 54 miles/1 hour Washington State Fair in Puyallup, Washington (only operates during 2 yearly fairs): 156 miles/2 hours, 34 minutes Wild Waves in Federal Way, Washington: 159 miles/2 hours, 41 minutes
  17. "Bungle In The Jungle" - Jethro Tull
  18. "Sinful Love" - Blue Oyster Cult
  19. I could use a Dole Whip right about now. But not quite enough to fly to California for it.
  20. ^I'm so out of it I didn't know if he meant it was weird that uniforms are free, or weird that it needed to be pointed out. Not really a subject I'm up on, I guess. Anyone here go to the job fair?
  21. It would've been a real nightmare if you'd only gotten to ride Skull Mountain and Dark Knight! Glad everything worked out, and great pics as always. In the past I didn't "get" Nitro, but I enjoyed it a lot more the last time I marathoned it. Turns out it's a front seat ride.
  22. I looked back to see if this was the park that I half-jokingly hoped was getting an elephant-themed ride. Guess not. But it sounds like this name provides for some interesting theming possibilities!
  23. I'm really liking the color scheme. It's kind of a mix of exciting and understated. Now they just need to add a Mega-Lite named Giraffe Neck. (No, I don't know where that idea came from...)
  24. ^Sounds like a spot-on description of what I remembered. The wilder parts easily make it better than most coasters.
  25. I am slightly confused, but still somehow impressed. I think this update was even better. It almost made me miss SFMM. Almost.
