  1. ^Iron Rattler should be running nice and hot for you!
  2. That would make a ton of sense! It would really help the section live up to its theme. And I know they'd be able to make it as family-friendly as they think it needs to be, like I'm sure their seasonal Halloween attractions are.
  3. ^^And I was there for two of those (I think)! Gotta be my favorite indoor flat (and it has some worthy competition), both considering the amazing cycle it runs and the fact that a Wipeout is a uniquely bad-a$$ ride to stick in a box. ^^^^^/^^^^^^ I actually think the charm and setting of WOF is a bit underrated, so I'm glad someone agrees on that point. It seems to have a reputation as yet another generic corporate park that had its original character ripped out, but I thought it had a pretty nice feel to it. Then again, this is coming from someone who feels the same way (albeit to a lesser extent) about Valleyfair and even parts of Dorney, which probably invalidates a lot of what I just said.
  4. I was actually just wondering why I seem to be perennially confused about the rules for Lil' Phantom despite having ridden it. Well, it sounds like there was a restriction years ago that was eventually removed. Yay credit whoring!
  5. Yup. Never had a problem (in 2011 and 2013), even when there was a bit of a wait. Have fun!
  6. I'm rarely one to complain about bright colors, or even loud color schemes. But, yeah, that's a bit...much. I've heard that the lap bars may look like torture devices, but are actually comfortable and a real improvement. True? There seems to be some positive feedback in this thread as people get used to their odd looks.
  7. I won't vote, since that would automatically require voting for California's version. However, it is a taste of greater things to come! When I first rode it, it was my favorite ride. I loved the detail put into the theming and ride experience, and I didn't know what airtime was, so I thought it was terrifying! Last year when I rode it, it was more just "nice" with slightly above average thrills at best, but still a must-ride at DCA.
  8. It may or may not have been Falcon's Fury (might've been Zumanjaro), but I've seen some irresponsibly worded headlines lately that directly implied a new ride was open when it definitely was not.
  9. Eh, I wouldn't bet on it honestly. I've thought it could be possible that the new trains have included the vests as a "test" or "precaution" to see how everything works out with guests, and that future major installations could feature lap bar-only trains. But who knows.
  10. I'm glad that people with a lot of experience (unlike me) agree. Hopefully they'll eventually implement common-sense policies based on what the rides can actually handle.
  11. I accidentally woke up around midnight, and the first thing I did, while already falling back asleep, was check the 66 Days site. Let the teasing begin! (And I do like how this works perfectly as a countdown for my next coaster trip, too!)
  12. ^^I like that angle you got of White Lightning. Makes it look twisty!
  13. Yup! Also, at least we'll get to visit the park as we've known it, with no worries about waiting in long lines or planning differently around a new ride. And on the remote off chance it does involve modifying an existing coaster, we'll be able to ride it in a more "classic" form, kind of like how I was happy to ride Voyage's classic PTC and Raven PTC in 2010.
  14. Note, I'm pretty sure none of the line-skipping passes give you any freedom to choose your times. On the plus side, there are several unusual options within their setup including a la carte, front seat, and various sets of rides.
  15. Good. I wasn't surprised when you told me the shorter waits were likely because the line appeared much longer than it was, so locals avoided joining the queue. I'm still skeptical about the potential for this to actually improve operations.
  16. If it only adds an extra few seconds or so to the dispatch, why is that a problem? I for one think that it's annoying when no one is excited to ride. Roller coasters are supposed to be fun for everyone! Eh, it's not a big deal to me if that happens every now and then. It's like other places where people do that to hype up the crowd. Of course, it's best if the operator is really having fun and isn't just on autopilot. I will agree, though: I don't always show my excitement, so I could look pissed off or bored as hell and still be having the time of my life.
  17. "Ramblin' On My Mind" - Robert Johnson Sometimes, simple is best.
  18. ^^As with anything like this, I hope it's temporary and doesn't spread to any other ride or park. In other words, I hope it's just another SFOT thing. They do seem to be getting pretty notorious for stuff like this.
  19. I think it was painted a dark brown back in Idaho (or wherever it was manufactured) but I'm not 100% positive. Glad I asked! I didn't notice anyone talking about it, and my eyes just weren't telling me the difference. But whatever they did, I think it was the right choice.
  20. It wasn't until the last day or two that it really clicked with me just how intimidating the steel structure will be. And the drop is looking amazing. Also, I love how it blends with the wood structure so well--is it painted or weathered at all, or just purposely bare? I usually hate the look of yet-to-be-painted coaster steel, but this is perfect!
  21. Yes!!! I was hoping they still had a Dalmatian, but I didn't see her the last time I was there. I think I'm in the front seat camp for Outlaw Run, myself. Sounds like an ideal day to visit the park!
  22. ^You never know! For some reason I thought it started out as a rumored Gravity Group project, but it looks like it was rumored or stated to be GCI since at least 2008, before I even knew about it, so maybe it was just my imagination.
  23. I know that's not the first we've seen of the train front, but I am just struck by how awesome it looks. Way to go, Gravity Group, Story Land, and whoever-all else was involved in designing it!
  24. I really hope that policy does not spread. I also hope it's temporary, like maybe for some reason they have an increased need to disallow loose articles, so they're doing this until they can put in a better solution like more netting. I'm not a fan of the family coasters at Morey's, or the Boomerang. Zamperla mice are particularly terrible compared to other mice. It's more a place to go for the flats and dark rides, the location and the atmosphere. But it's definitely worth fitting into a coaster trip. Are there any updates on the new woodie, or is it still delayed indefinitely?
  25. Ugh. I hope they do go with Diavolo, because that sounds totally bad-a$$ (and I know that was rumored to just be a "project name"). Tempesto sounds very unappealing. I guess I'd end up calling it Pesto or something. Pesto Hunt?
