  1. I wouldn't mind going back to get a better taste of the quirky stuff I missed out on, like the bridges and the Alice walkthrough. I also didn't take a close look at the fairy tale buildings (I can do that at Enchanted Forest any time), but now I borderline regret that. Ah, well...secondhand info is good enough when there are drunk kittens involved.
  2. I'm sampling some white merlot from the prestigious and high-class Gallo Family Vineyards (also responsible for the renowned Night Train and Thunderbird brands). I don't mind it at all.
  3. I was wondering about the bumper cars, too. The modern round ones are actually pretty fun. But the pseudo-classic ones the park is getting are more charming, of course. SFGAdv didn't seem all that lacking in flats to me. I rode a couple and skipped several more. But lack of flats was a common complaint, so I'm glad the park listened and is starting to bolster their collection.
  4. I can't rank them, but here are some thoughts about rides that stand out: Leviathan: I like speed. And airtime. And Millennium Force. And most hypers. Plus, it's a freakin' giga! S:UF: I love Premier launchers, and this looks intense! Besides, it's the most accessible to me (disregarding TPR trips). Verbolten: Nothing wrong with a quality "family" type coaster, especially if it's somewhat exciting, uses the terrain well, and has great theming. Wild Eagle(?): If nothing else, this should have a lovely setting and some thoughtful theming elements. I've heard great things about Dollywood, and knowing how amazing SDC is, I trust the park has made a good investment here. X-Flight: I'm eager to try out this type of ride, and I might not mind if it's tame considering I generally enjoy B&Ms. SkyRush: It's unique, it's an Intamin, and it's at Hershey. Sounds good to me.
  5. ^You nailed my favorite California steelies. The five of those I've ridden (no GL or Xcel) are all in my top 15 steel. Maybe I just like the occasional not-so-wild coaster more than many enthusiasts do, or maybe I've ridden more California coasters than others, but I don't think the state is really all that lacking in quality rides.
  6. I agree that coasters like Voyage "need" Timberliners (assuming they perform the way we hope). But I also like the trains in and of themselves, so hopefully they'll at least start turning up on more smaller coasters like Wooden Warrior.
  7. I'm not the biggest fan of superhero names. (But on the other hand, who doesn't like superheroes at least a little?) And I'm getting tired of SF reusing names. Just one more ride where you have to mention a direction like West or note the park name. But Superman is fine with me, as I like the color scheme.
  8. Quoted for agreement. But if they don't, I'll still be happy to return to Knoebels.
  9. ^What possesses people to make useless comments like that?
  10. I enjoy all stand-ups at least a little. Big Stand-Ups (I like these all about the same) 1. Green Lantern 2. Riddler's Revenge 3. Mantis What I like about these are the long layouts and the fun inversions and forces, including both positives and bits of airtime. I recall Green Lantern being the most intense; in fact, the Batman-like forces were a bit much for me at times. Lil' Stand-Ups (I like these both about the same) 4. Iron Wolf 5. Vortex (CGA) I thought both of these were fun. They were rough, but had decent little layouts.
  11. The more I think about this, the more I like it. It doesn't hurt that Premier has made several of my favorite launchers. I appreciate the surprise, too. I was expecting a clone, or maybe even just a flat ride.
  12. I like all floorlesses, so these rankings are rough. 1. Medusa 2. Hydra 3. Bizarro 4. Batman: The Dark Knight 5. Superman: Krypton Coaster 6. Scream! Medusa doesn't seem like it should be too much better than the others. I fear I may have a "first-of-its-kind-ridden bias" towards it. But I enjoy its layout, and the setting doesn't bother me. Hydra has a unique layout (even the jo-jo roll is fun), plus a nice setting and a bit of fun airtime in the back row. I really enjoyed the inversions on Bizarro for some reason; perhaps speed is a factor. And it has the refreshing setting that Medusa and Scream wish they had. Plus, the theming elements, including FIRE, make it that much better. Batman had some fun forces and gave enjoyable rides, but overall seemed slightly forgettable. I only really liked the setting and the zero-g roll on S:KC, which was too mild for my taste. Scream isn't much worse than the others, if at all, but its lack of attractiveness does not endear it to me. It had some decent forces, though.
  13. I'll be keeping alert for info on Q-Bot availability and any restrictions. I might just brave the lines, since the park doesn't have too many rides of interest for me, but I'll be sure to check out my options before visiting.
  14. I am so there. Compact launchers are always a good time. This looks like a fun little addition to the park; hopefully it lives up to all this early excitement.
  15. ^Chris, that's a major selling point for me too! I've been claiming since our visit that I WILL be on the next TPR trip that includes Knoebels. This report made me sad that I'm not at Knoebels right now. But that's okay because I had fun reliving our day there!
  16. Uh, okay. I'd much rather hear good news about this park, as I love it. Maybe the term "headgear" doesn't have a clear definition to people and should be changed to something more obviously all-inclusive like "head coverings".
  17. I can only hope so! McDonald's coasters kind of annoy the heck out of me. Cool name. And I like how the logo resembles the coaster. Invertigos are pretty fun. Not as satisfying as full-circuit inverts, but better than standard Boomerangs. I put this one above KI's, but I did get to ride it in more seats at CGA (ends are best) and had ridden fewer coasters at that point.
  18. I think I have my top tens worked out for now. But really, at this point, my rankings are kinda jacked! Wood 01. Boulder Dash 02. Coaster (Playland) 03. Voyage 04. Phoenix 05. Giant Dipper (SCBB) 06. American Thunder 07. Timber Terror 08. El Toro 09. Tremors 10. Prowler Honorable mentions: Hades, Beast, Twister, Legend, Cyclops Steel 01. X2 02. Maverick 03. New Texas Giant 04. Titan 05. Goliath (SFMM) 06. Phantom's Revenge 07. Top Thrill Dragster 08. Aftershock 09. Medusa 10. Tatsu Honorable mentions: Flight of Fear, Raging Bull, Mr. Freezes, California Screamin', Powder Keg, favorite Batman (SFOT), Steel Hawg, Storm Runner, Steel Force, Mamba, and more!
  19. ^^Yes! That might be the worst dark ride ever (and I know plenty of bad ones).
  20. 100. Wacky Worm, WOF 200. Superman: Ultimate Flight, SFGAdv 300. Lightning Racer: Lightning Yeah, I eventually gave up on trying to get the worst milestones possible. But I like #200 because my other S:UF (SFGAm) was my 100th steel coaster. And #300 was exciting because I won! That made it all the more special. I'll refrain from posting my more questionable milestones this time.

  22. ^Hershey does know how to do a station right. I love Lightning Racer's. I actually really like some of the interaction between rides at the park.
  23. Rolling Thunder surprised me. It's not the smoothest, but it hardly bothered me at all. Even felt a bit speedy.
