  1. Haha, you guys have basically covered my initial reactions. I remember TMNT (still) being popular when I was, like, 3. Not surprised there's going to be a new series making it relevant again, explaining why it's worthy of a ride theme. Cute name...I'm generally a fan of rides that are somehow interactive, so this looks like fun.
  2. I think the back row to offers the best seats in the house. I feel it maximizes the sensation of flying, though I can't be certain since I never bother with other rows! Then again, at my local theater you must exit to a high indoor skybridge, so sitting low wouldn't help in that regard.
  3. ^Opening day, no, but I really don't care how long I'll have to wait when I do go. With three coasters I don't really care for and three I like that have near-clones elsewhere, I doubt I'll be too anxious to ride anything else.
  4. ^Do you happen to have the pop-up book "Stairs" by Rein Jansma? I suppose it might qualify as "stair porn".
  5. Interesting read. I hope they're serious about improving food quality. Glad to hear they're planning to roll out Fast Lane chain-wide (assuming it works at least as well as it did at Kings Island last year). I'm not saying I'd always use it, but I feel more comfortable knowing it's an option.
  6. I've seen so few pictures of that scheme. Was it short-lived? As a fan of green on coasters, I like the look of it.
  7. ^I do appreciate their flat ride collection. It's great that they've preserved an Intamin Freefall, and though Pennsylvania isn't exactly short on Whip rides, they are rare in general. With Boardwalk Bullet as an example I have no worries about the ability to fit a good coaster in that amount of space! I love the layout of that ride (how it runs is a different story, though).
  8. ^I'm not sure how I feel about the idea, myself. It does seem like a modest park, and I know it's generally easy to finish within a few hours. But in a way, I do think of the park as somewhat well-rounded, with some desirable thrill and family rides. It helps that I'm a pretty major fan of not just Talon, but also the less popular Steel Force and Hydra. As for what I'd add, I only have one concrete idea. I usually don't like to make random suggestions, but I think a GCI would fit well (hey, wouldn't be the first time they've had two woodies at once, and a GCI would surely be a drastic improvement). I have no idea what their next steel should be, though.
  9. ^Agreed. I think the only ones I didn't especially enjoy were Back Lot Stunt Coaster and Runaway Mountain (which is clearly very different from what they usually build). But both are perfectly enjoyable for what they are. I rank Flight of Fear, the Mr. Freezes, Powder Keg, and Poltergeist very highly, and I'm a fan of Sky Rocket as well.
  10. I am interested to see how they will theme this. And yeah, while I'm not saying the park would need coasters in order to be successful, that is most likely what would draw me there someday.
  11. ^I heard it was a trainwreck...hopefully it would be better organized this time around. Actually, I've heard speculation that a line-skipping option wouldn't be feasible at CP, simply because no matter how high they priced it, too many people would buy it for it to work well. But if they plan it carefully I'm sure they could work around that potential issue.
  12. I was a bit skeptical simply because I remember being fine with the old site...but I do like the look of this. I doubt it's a ground-breaking improvement, but it seemed easy to find pertinent info. I'm also looking forward to seeing any Fast Lane updates for Cedar Fair parks. While I appreciate parks offering VIP tours, I'd be worried about reserving one outside of very specific circumstances, simply because so many parks can be experienced adequately without upcharge help (or with a simple line-skipping product). I was easily able to complete Cedar Point (18 credits by my methods) in one day, with only one credit during early entry and one during TPR ERT.
  13. I'm glad they really are going to call it "Shambhala". I don't know how any other name could top that.
  14. ^^I had been confused about Ninja because a couple years ago it went down for a lengthy rehab and I wasn't sure if that was yearly...glad to know it's usually just a weather issue.
  15. ^ I'm sure fading is a big part of it. My first visit was in 2009.
  16. I swear the uninspiring paint scheme on Vortex actually makes me dislike the ride even more. (Actually, I don't dislike it that much, but that's beside the point.)
  17. I'd say Worlds of Fun is comparable to Dorney, but I decidedly prefer WOF. While I liked the atmosphere at both, WOF seemed quite a bit more charming. However, Dorney probably wins for me in the coaster collection (with WOF having better wood by far). At WOF Prowler and Mamba are my top favorites with Patriot and Timber Wolf as runner-ups, and at Dorney I enjoyed Steel Force, Talon and Hydra best with Possessed also being decent. I absolutely agree. I spent a full operating day there in 2010 (when it closed at 10:00, I believe) and by the end, I practically felt like I wanted to stay forever. Depending on your interests, one full day could be fine, but there really is a lot to do and see there. Anyway, holding off until it fits better in your itinerary sounds like a good plan.
  18. Yay for more Premier launch coasters! And yay for more mall coasters, too...they really appeal to me for some reason. Looking forward to hearing just how crazy this will (hopefully) be.
  19. I love the look of that tunnel!
  20. ^Is this the first mention they've made of a late May opening? I sure like the sound of that. The more I think about this coaster, the more I think I might like it.
  21. ^^The most interesting thing on that page is the video of the car flipping.
  22. Wow, how colorful! The area looks very well-done.
  23. ^I do have to wonder about the potential impact on Holiday World, despite their dedication to caring for the park.
  24. The Crypt isn't good anymore, right? I forgot all about it when I was there last year. I was mildly interested in whatever theming remained, but tame Top Spins aren't much fun.
  25. This had better happen. I always love to see rare classic rides resurrected. I hesitate to be so sentimental about a place I've never visited, but this really does sound like a dream come true.
