Mass ride removal trendscal1br3tto replied to megametal's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! ^^Funny how much coasters have evolved since then. At Silverwood, though, I have witnessed someone coming from the ride saying "Roller coasters are definitely not for me."

Mitch Hawker 2011 Wood Coaster Poll!cal1br3tto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! ^^Wow, total flashback to my first wood ballot. I was only able to vote 7, all in the western US. Now I only need six western woodies, and that's including half of Colossus. But it'll take me awhile to get to Cliff's. ^Thanks for the clarification! I was way off. I wonder if they'll repeat something like that?

Mitch Hawker 2011 Wood Coaster Poll!cal1br3tto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Not sure about red or backwards, but American Eagle Blue forwards is decidedly one of my least favorite wooden coasters. By the way, I'm a bit confused regarding last season: is one side running backwards permanently now, or did they just make the Halloween switch earlier than usual?

Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Threadcal1br3tto replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Anyone else find it odd that the park doesn't currently have a kiddie coaster? I tend to think of them as park staples and I'd assume it would make the place more well-rounded. Do they at least have plenty of other children's rides?

Mass ride removal trendscal1br3tto replied to megametal's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! ^Speaking of Arrow corkscrews, I believe Silverwood's cork from Knott's is often rumored to be on the chopping block. I can understand why as, though I've realized it's a bit fun, there's not a lot to it. This thread makes me nervous...I don't want to be scared by ideas that may end up being proven untrue for the time being, but worse, I don't want to be reminded of unfortunate trends that really are or soon will be occurring.

	For real this time?

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Threadcal1br3tto replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Pure speculation, but I had assumed they simply thought it would be too time-consuming to let everyone choose. Letting only the highest bidder choose sounds like a good compromise, especially since they'd probably have a definite idea of what they want (most likely front or back). Or can we compare to a past auction?

PortAventura Discussion Threadcal1br3tto replied to Shockwave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! ^That sounds awesome, especially if it surrounds part of the track. I will admit, though, I'm a bit skeptical of the rumored plan to paint "snow" onto Dragon Khan...I'm afraid it will remind me of chili mixed with cottage cheese.

Not counting catered meals (which I enjoy much more often than not), I'm certain I haven't either. Don't the Cedar Point ones come in foil bags (kind of like store-bought microwaveable burgers)? That was at least a litle off-putting (and of course, the burger within was inexcusably bland). Oh, and I think I noticed a lack of condiments at CP, too.

^Yeah, there are people who like to shave off even modest wait times, plus it could help out those who can only manage a quick stop at the park. And you often see people who had apparently assumed they "should" buy into such a system on days when there's practically zero benefit (actually, I've kinda done this myself). It's also true that there's no telling if this will be permanent; has it even been explicitly confirmed for CGA?

I like the flexibility of the Manta ERT. It seems so convenient that you don't have to visit the park on a particular day, but instead, (apparently) any morning during the summer. I'm not inclined to buy a pass myself, but I'm all for the option. Personally, I'm willing to just make a credit stop if lines are crazy (attempting to re-ride if I like it enough and have ample time), maybe even skipping my old friend Journey to Atlantis if lines are long there too.

I guess I missed this because it was shortly after I began posting...but I generally enjoy these too. It seems like just when I think one of the commercials isn't too funny, she'll say one last thing and a second later I'll laugh after all.

Mitch Hawker 2011 Wood Coaster Poll!cal1br3tto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! I like how a lot of ballots are basically advertisements for Intamin Pre-Fabs. Sure, I don't rank El Toro quite as highly as many do, but I'm still kind of in awe over the experience it provided, and I really like the looks of at least two of the other ones (need to brush up on my Colossos knowledge).

In the past I've found I can easily spend a day at the park, with light to moderate crowds, with or without animals. But I'm not sure how that might change now that I've ridden more than one of each of the coaster types there, and the ones at SFDK aren't necessarily my favorites. (Specifically...Medusa is still my favorite floorless by far, although I suppose the margin could decrease in the future. And V2 is just about my favorite Twisted Impulse; I prefer having a holding brake, but the angled front spike is more interesting in all seats than the typical vertical ones.)

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Threadcal1br3tto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! ^^^It appears to be "Thrills connect." The little exposure I had to the Ride Warriors campaign decidedly turned me off. It seemed grating and a bit contrived.

La Ronde Discussion Threadcal1br3tto replied to Skyscraper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! ^As long as there's still a Boomerang credit waiting for me, returning is not out of the question. Yeah, my mind scares me sometimes.
