  1. Yay! I wasn't too impressed with the place (nothing wrong with it, just not a lot for me to do), so I'm glad they'll be improving it. I'd like to "complete" New Jersey, or at least the shore credits, after the Morey's woodie opens up. Hopefully the few I'm missing will survive until then.
  2. I think I like the new color scheme. A bit subdued, but somehow sexy. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I'd really like to get out and ride Xpress. I know about the Disney ones, but I like seeing compact launchers outdoors. I love the look of the twisted layouts, and on Premiers I've found the headchoppers are that much more intense when you can see them clearly.
  3. ^Agreed. I can't wait to see more pictures of that gorgeous track.
  4. Totally agreed. I highly recommend the TPR official add-ons, not just for the convenience factor, but also for the extra time to get to know fellow TPR members (and maximize time with TPR friends during any post-trip add-ons). Even one day can help a lot with that, no matter how few or many people you know. Do you already have your day-to-day spending for New Hotness worked out? You might want the flexibility to, say, head over to a restaurant with friends at night, or enjoy random tourist attractions we may come across.
  5. ^Now I know why I've never regretted not being able to ride it (as I often do with defunct wooden coasters).
  6. I knew it still had potential! I'd like to get some rides of that caliber in before they transform it into something even better (if indeed they are going to).
  7. ^I'd like to experiment more with staying relaxed on coasters. It also seems to help on more intense rides, or at least it shows what the forces do to you. I noticed El Toro makes your arms fly up on the first few drops. ^^Yes, I've found Grizzly gives one or two minimal, basically inconsequential pops of "airtime" in the back of the train.
  8. ^I'm not sure how insulting it really is, since I'd assume only ACErs and a small number of other enthusiasts are going to care if a ride loses its status. Do they even notify the parks? (That could be obnoxious, but would presumably only affect a few people.) Besides, the designation has no bearing on whether or not a wooden coaster is "classic". Classic means old (slight oversimplification). If I say a coaster is classic, that has nothing to do with ACE.
  9. I understand the point of the ACE Coaster Classic designation and don't have a problem with it. I'm all for keeping traditional trains and restraints. Really the only issue I agree with is that a number of the coasters (not the Cyclone, of course) are so tame it wouldn't matter what lap bars they use.
  10. ^^Unfortunately, yes. The only Morgan trains I like are the ones with buzz bars. And then, I only like them because they happen to have buzz bars. Obviously that's not the case here or on Colossus. ^Yeah, they can keep the 'shaky' for all I care, if only they would take out the 'boring'!
  11. ^That's my main problem with Eurofighters, too, though I'm sure it keeps them cost-effective. For one, Untamed is over so quickly that the only real fun is in the first drop.
  12. If there's a chance we'll see the ride (or half of it) again somewhere, I'm all for it. But what is the likelihood? Is this related to past rumors of its sale, or is it an entirely new development?
  13. I love the look of that! Honestly I'm not all that skeptical of these rides...but maybe I just like how that dive resembles a pretzel loop.
  14. Playin' around. This is intended to be a classic out-and-back.
  15. I preferred the idea of an El Loco or other compact thrill coaster, but spinners can be great fun in their own right. It's just that I've ridden more than my fair share of them, though I have yet to ride a Maurer. My favorites are by, well, Zamperla and Reverchon. It would've been so convenient for SFDK to send their spinner over here....
  16. Which is why rides like Sky Rocket at Kennywood are a good compromise. Personally, I would rather see a giga or hyper, but, realistically, a ride that would suit everyone's tastes would be a Premier-designed looper, with plenty of airtime and lap bars. Sky Rocket is just a compact launched looping coaster, but manages to have more airtime than any coaster at SFMM (I counted 7 spots). Good point. Sky Rocket is a solid ride with fun stuff for enthusiasts that still seems to maintain an approachable vibe.
  17. I don't think Grizzly is likely to redeem itself with me through any amount of retracking. But at least they're looking after it.
  18. ^But how similar? For some people it might go beyond just the appearance. I like the buzz bars, though the extra padding is bizarre and I'm not sure how much it really helps.
  19. It would be sooooooo funny if Shambhala turned out to be unexpectedly MEGA INTENSE.
  20. Is this a kind of ride where the particular height even matters? When I rode Windseekers last year I appreciated the views more than anything else. I don't see them being too much worse from a lower height.
  21. I hear ya. I've developed some hindsight regarding my past spending, and I wish I'd learned earlier to be a serious saver. Maybe not to the level of creating an emergency fund or long-term savings, but at least saving for something reasonably major like travel. In the past, even if I did "save" it was never for anything more than new electronics.
  22. I'll add my vote for a terrain Blitz. The world could use another Maverick (or better).
  23. At least Khan is really looking striking these days. The faded paint still looked somewhat appealing, but I kinda got the feeling it could become ugly if it deteriorated further. Glad they're looking after it.
  24. I remember finding CCMR uncomfortable, but I just dismissed it as a "mine train thing" and didn't think about it much. I'm all for this improvement, though I agree that the Gemini trains could stand to be made a little more mine-y.
  25. They sure do know how to make it sound exciting. Actually, as a Bolliger & Mabillard fan, I bet I'll enjoy it. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the layout come to life.
