So what you are saying is that theme parks should not invest to make their rides more modern and better? There will always be a small group of people wanting to protest the closing of attractions. Right now Roar is not a high ranking coaster, and I have not heard too many people heartbroken about this closing. RMC will make this a top ranking coaster, that is intense, smooth, and probably inverting to some extent. I was never a fan of GCI twister layouts, and would take an RMC over most any day. I would take an RMC over most other coasters any day

This is really encouraging to know and now with the renovations to Twisted Twins, this park will have a great coaster lineup. A renovated TT & LR alone would be a 1-2 punch of a line up. I was so impressed by LR. It far exceeded my expectations. -

https://np.reddit.com/r/offbeat/comments/3bjjiy/disney_confirms_selfie_stick_ban_at_theme_parks/csmvru7 A detailed explanation of why selfie sticks were banned. Nothing new that we didnt know but it basically comes down to as Robb said, people cant police themselves -

It was running today!! And my God was it hauling?! Holy crap, how can this coaster be legally running with those trains? The airtime is insane! I rode three times in the back row and a few more in other seats. This coaster easily sits in my top 4 among Pheonix and Boulder Dash. The standing airtime on this is so good!! I hope it keeps up! I haven't nailed down a date, but I plan on visiting around late July/early August. -

I can't speak for the usual saturday, but last Saturday, the wait wasn't too bad. It was very good weather. Mostly sunny, was about 80 degrees. Sprinkled a bit in the morning and then cleared up. This was the day after the park shut down early for a tornado warning. With that said, the wait time for Thunderbird was about 45 minutes from opening until noonish or 1 approximately. A lot of people ended up going to the water park, and during this time, I waited about 5-15 minutes. Around 7ish, as people started leaving the water park, the line began to fill up again but I don't believe I waited more than 20 minutes. We got 3 back to back rides at night as there virtually no line for Thunderbird and HW has the surprising policy of letting you reride if no one is waiting to take your seat. -

The lack of a stablizer makes this some what impractical for video. A flycam (portable) , jibcrane (not necessarily portable...), etc. is a better option IMO. On-ride, loose articles shouldn't be permitted period, and god forbid thoseextending past tested clearances. Believe it or not, it does help with stability. Does't seem like it would, but from my experience, footage that I've shot on my gopro with a stick looks significantly less shaky than hand held footage. Also wanted to note, doesn't look like this selfie stick ban campaign is going well. It appears the Cedar Fair parks are actually selling them. I think time would be better spent trying to get them prohibited at inappropriate places like live performances and rides -

I can't stress enough how strong the line up of coasters at HW is. I'm not sure if the locals know how good they have it. They have literally the very best rides of their class. Raven is a solid introductory coaster, Legend is king of lats, and Voyage is one of the greatest experiences I've ever had, you throw in Thunderbird as the park's launched looping wing rider and you see how it rounds out the park very nicely. It's a real contender in my list as potentially the best of modern day b&m's. It's paced perfectly and the elements deliver fun and unique sensations. I'm not sure what else HW could add because their 4 coasters are all better than many parks with over 10+ coasters. -

^ Seriously. Just a complete lack of understanding and an overabundance of butt hurt and entitlement. Its so frustrating that I can't even. And I find that to be a bit odd. -

Will be at CP for the first time in my life next Tuesday and the forecast looks bleak. Realistically, how accurate is the Ohio weather forecast this many days out? -
There's nothing wrong with criticizing the flash pass or comparing it to an efficient system that actually works. Just because SFMM is cheaper than Disney doesnt mean their crappy implementation of a skipping the line program gets a pass. Its all relevant. Pricing structures can vary, but at the end of the day, a good product is still a good product, and a shit one will still be shit There's nothing entitled about it.

I keep coming back to things like this, and others such as "if you're only going to use one station why not have a TTD/Maverick style system where you send out two trains at once?" Then I remember one thing. Six Flags.........Magic Mountain. And then I proceed to move on to what I'm going to eat for lunch. The state of SFMM operations pains me as much as the Seahawks choosing to pass at the Superbowl when they had the leagues best running back. It's just easier not to think about it and enjoy it as best you can.

^ Pretty much. I guess you have to really take your hat off to Rowling to taking that risk and putting your IP into somebody else's hands, but then again that's not much different for what she did with the movies. To Nintendo, I have 2 comments. First is, "Oh yee of little faith." But I will follow that with "better late than never." And honestly, it was probably a bit advantageous for this deal to take place later. Even as the Nintendo consoles are dropping off, their brand is obviously still very very strong, and their IP's have an immense fanbase that I believe will continue to carry on for generations much like the original Disney cartoon characters and other entertainment property.

As I have ridden Tremors, I can say that topper track seriously helps. On tremor's though, not every portion of track has it. They only put it over the "problem" spots, so some parts are significantly smoother then others. If they do in fact replace GR's track with topper track, I would hope its the whole thing. Tremors still jack hammered through some of the air hills which as far as I could tell did not have the topper track on them. I heard Cyclone at SFNE also only had portions replaced with topper track. Made it significantly better, but not quite as good as it could have been with a complete topper track transformation.

^ That seems very optimistic. How long did Tatsu run at full capacity before they canked that? We'll see how it plays out. There's enough other star attraction rides now that crowd distribution shouldn't be too bad, especially now they have another star attraction occupying the scream punk section of the park. It should also drive more people to Scream which I don't think has ever had a significantly long line.

I used to work valet at the Grand California Hotel and he would frequent the spot. Never shied away from small talk. Pretty cool experience to chat to a legend, even if it was just about his day and how he's doing.
