  1. Ah! Thanks for the clarification. Now I get it. Makes much more sense now!
  2. GG- The Boardwalk Bullet at Kemah is a very compact, fun, INTENSE coaster, but what was the hardest part about designing a coaster with so much track in such a tiny space?
  3. Whoa. That is much taller than in the teaser! Forget what this looks like at the end of the year, at the rate they're going I cant wait to see what it looks like in a couple of weeks! Anybody notice that steel beam at a real odd angle in comparison to the others right before the overbank?
  4. Oh wow. This is looking great. In my opinion, much faster than NTAG construction.
  5. ProSlide- We've seen the funnel, we've seen the bowl, can we expect to see something new like a cylinder or a sphere even? Like, how cool would it be to go from side to side in a gigantic long cylinder at high speeds in a clover leaf tube!
  6. ProSlide- have you ever thought of making your own version of White Waters 'Aqualoop'? Maybe you cool name it H2"Oh hell no!"
  7. S&S- Can your turbo shot/space shot/ conbo shot towers get any TALLER?!?!
  8. B&M- what is the average profit per coaster?
  9. RMC- Do you plan on renovating aging steel coasters in the future too?
  10. RMC- With the recent success of your wood coaster designs and remodels, will we ever see a pure steel coaster in the near future?
  11. Goliath at SFOT has been a few places. From Japan, to NOLA, and to San Antonio. http://rcdb.com/3976.htm And the Hornet at Wonderland operated in Canada before coming to Houston at SFAW (RIP) and then a little up North to Amarillo. http://rcdb.com/3513.htm Just a few ive ridden...
  12. I agree all the way with Iron Shark! The lap bar is a bit uncomfortable as the bar itself is a triangle and the corner is what hits my thigh, not the flat part, but that giant grin up on the front makes the car look killer. But hey, I'll take a lap bar over the OTSR anytime! Hey Robb, you should do a POV sometime!
  13. I always thought this ride looked visually awkward and unpleasing but word on the street is that this ride is killer. Ive only ridden one B&M floorless (Superman: Krypton Coaster) and its real intense!
  14. I think outlaw run should be very similar to the rattler test section. Regardless of the way the track is installed, if its the same it shouldn't be too different. That test section was a night a day difference. It wasn't smoothe, but it had that vibration of a wood coaster.
  15. Based on the pictures it doesnt look like the pier itself held up too well. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if it was built up to code? I know that they re-structured the entire pier when they built the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, and i've visited the pier. If Galveston gets another hurricane it's not going anywhere. There is steel and concrete everywhere. Its pretty solid. But the Casino and Funtown Piers looked to be made of wood. Was this up to code, especially being on the coast? They may have not had a hurricane in a good while but they had to have known they were fair game for a disaster like this eventually. Another question, where the piers owned by the same person/company? I had no clue they were literally right next to eachother until I saw the piers on Google Earth.
  16. I must have been about 3 or 4 when I took my first spin on the Serpent at Astrowolrd with my mom! That little dip under the bridge after the first turnaround after the lift used to get my stomach every time and I'd grit my teeth! Momma got me hooked on coasters and she still rides with me today!
  17. Screamscape just reported that the Aviator swing ride has been removed from the park and the possibility for the old Babins to be removed as well for future expansion. However, it was in the best interest of the park to remove the ride after the 'malfunction' as the news called it.
  18. Call me crazy, the original rattler and Texas Giant! The rattler was just so scenic and beautiful and had all the escence of a classic would coaster built onto a quarry wall. I'm excited for the iron rattler, but I will miss the old one. As for the Texas giant, NTAG is incredible, but the old Texas giant was great. It was a tad jerky but that's what wood coasters do, and the layout was great.
  19. Wow, this section is alot smaller than i though it would be. Those over banked turns are really close to the ground. I guess the promo didn't take into consideration the topography changes on that particular plot of land. The back end appears to be a bit higher than the the area up front closer to the quarry wall.
  20. So, my pieces of the Chute Out came in the mail a few days ago, and they smell. BAD. I guess that's just the smell of history. Does anybody know the latest on construction of the TSS and the paint jobs on LA Vibora and Shockwave?
  21. Being from Texas where there is a B&M or two at every park, my first B&M was actually Kumba at BGT during our family vacation. That coaster also broke my deadly fear of rolleroasters, so of course after that I was like, "Let's go ride Sheikra and Montu!" Then it rained, so we left the park and never went back. So here I am like 5 years later living with all these regrets an an urge to re-visit Clearwater and Tampa again!!!
  22. Don't know if its already been posted, but YES at SFOT on Judge Roy Scream. Literally every time I ride the ride op announces if there are any empty seats, you can ride again. I've taken advantage of that before.
  23. My bids end in 11 hours! I should find out of I won by 9am CST tomorrow morning! I should win both the pieces I bid on. Anyone think otherwise? A bit on my history with the Chute Out. I'm a youngin... 16. My first trip to SFOT was when I was probably 10 or so. (At this time, I LOVED rollercoasters, but would ride them. Odd.) Anyways, I always loved the chute out. It was so cool, fun, cool way to see the park. When I found out it was closing, it just so happened to close like 10 days after my family trip to SFOT. It was my first time on Mr. Freeze (Reverse) and my sisters (age 10 at the time) on Titan and NTAG (I drug her on them as I don't want her to be like me at age 10, a chicken.) I drug my famiy on the chute out for a few last rides and although my experience with the ride does not date back to the 70s, my heart sank when it fell. As I turned 16 in July, I was FINALLY old enough to get a bank account. I got my account a long time ago, and I knew now I can actually order stuff... ONLINE! I HAD to bid on some pieces as the proceeds go to a big cause, and because I want it to jump start my theme park memorabilia collection. Don't judge cause I'm young, I'm a nerd just like everyone else! And I'm a Texan. Yeehaw.
  24. ^^^ That's what I thought. It looks more electric, kinda fits better with the name 'ShockWave' than a dull green. I'm still trying to figure out why the paint faded so quickly and started to show the blue underneath. I also saw on the Baynum website that La Vibora's paint job wasn't called off, but it WAS postponed.
