  1. I'm going to assume the "Built on steel" bit is due to the theming they have planned, at least from the artwork they did Most likely, it'll end up hidden
  2. The mayan calendar ends in 2012 because in their religion it was supposed to be their "Next era" and the "End of that world" though, they crashed out long before they reached it, theirs your mistranslation, mostly lost in time and well hidden take that as you will
  3. That Red/Black viper is just.... i'd love to own one to cruise around in, but i love my beat up, tiny, loud, but gas-efficient buick century seriously, you could drive it off a cliff and cause no damage, drives better than a lot of cars i know and have driven
  4. GG: http://americancoasterenthusiasts.com/AceNewsNow/?article=55 and according to another person: ---------- (10:19:57 PM): still in negotiations - nothing finalized they never actually sold the park, it's still in negotiations, but parques will be the owners if it goes through thats my understanding and i havent seen anything to say otherwise
  5. According to what i've read, kennywood was NOT sold to anyone, it's still owned by the family, as they'd need a majority vote they dont have to accept a purchase offer that said, i'm buying one the second they go live
  6. X-Flight @ Geauga lake when it was at SFWoA Pre-CF Especially when it first opened
  7. [Quick Reply] Cedar fair is getting desperate, adding perks like this for passholders just to get people to spend money on them Too bad all they will find are bad operations, bad park expiriences, annoying (often) staff and stupidly overpirced food and things that are subpar when other parks are far better for half the price =/
  8. Project 1 - Headhunterz vs. Wildstylez
  9. That looks SICK! i'm a huge fan of the vekoma flyers, preferring them over B&M by a longshot Seriously people, vekoma makes AMAZING rides, just a few of them give them a bad rep because parks havent gotten the newer trains they've been using (3rd gen? cork trains with the open sides on their boomerangs for example) Dont diss it till you ride it
  10. Villain i'm not sad to see go, i rode it about a year after it opened and it easily hurts a hell of a lot worse than RWB Ever did, the g-trains jackhammer like hell on turns and villain even did it on a lot of the hills failry badly
  11. Sorry For the double post, here are the pics: (Resizing and uploading courtesy of Robb) One last shot of RWB Without it's flags, including the barbed wire stopping any good pics of the whole ride from being taken The little red metro that could and a sentra, with dying history in the background Close up on the Rib-breaker RWB 1st TA, slightly clearer, it saddens me to see this ride rotting away Villain...Being jailed, the whole fan turn is gone now Station-side turn, i had to lean through a fence to get this pic >.< RWB lift from the side Headspin Being Dismantled RWB Lift, sans it's trademark flags 2nd TA, Through the trees! RWB First Turnaround and the slight hill leading to the rib-crushing Left turning hill Close-up of the turn by the station on RWB
  12. well, after my posts earlier, i felt justified to drive out there and get a few pics of the demo around the front Villains Fan turn is GONE, entirely, to the ground, and RWB is still intact as far as i can see, it hasnt been demolished yet beyond them chopping the **** transfer up and such to sell in the stupid auctions i may have more tomarrow, working on permission to take pictures from inside the park if they'll allow it I'll upload pics/email them if anyone wants to see, they are like 1900x1200 so i'll need to resize them a ton to post them
  13. Sorry for the double post, but...just noticed the big dipper fiasco's stupidity Reading through it all, he purchased the ride for his buyer for ~$5k A historic coaster for FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS Does anyone realize how low that is? I MYSELF as a 19 year old college kid with a sales posistion could have purchased that coaster, hell, forget an apartment, i'll live in a roller coaster in fact, without touching half my investments, i could have upped his offer by 5x without flinching, to leave the dipper onsite as a historic landmark, whether they'd like it or not Let that sink in a moment
  14. /\ I was intending a while ago, but didnt have the influence, to potentially have the big dipper marked a historical location (Like historic houses) Doing so would have forced the ride to stay on-site and be kept up as such, hopefully operating That would have derailed the hell out of CF, but sadly, no groups really went after it past Ace, and even then, Aurora didnt give a s**t about what happened to it anyway, or the dipper and most of GL probably would still be around right now, kept as a landmark
  15. /\ Being able to watch it running, and being able to ride it, is FAR different than remembering how much fun it was to ride it with friends
  16. i knew GL was going as soon as it was announced XFlight was being removed I'm actually so angry at cedar fair right now, i may consider boycotting every park they control for the rest of my life Why? The Raging wolf bobs at Geauga lake was the first coaster i EVER rode, Double loop shortly after, my aunt took me on both when i was just barely tall enough Ever since, the Raging Wolf was my favorite coaster in existence, call me crazy, but i could ride it for hours on end, even with all the roughness now? it's f*****g firewood, Congratulations CF! you've officially managed to fail as a company, being too f*****g lazy to actually put some effort into a small park in favor of bulldozing it and forcing people to go to your larger parks that arent even CLOSE to being as family-friendly as GL was Thanks, A**holes, for ruining many years of good memories with a couple short hours of demolition
  17. Great bear is one of my personal favorite rides, it's unique and thrilling, but not overly crazy (EG: The B&M "Batman" layout) so it has a lot of reride potential if the line isnt too bad the first drop on it is still one of my favorites, the left "Helix" into the right hand turn to the drop is the most unique pre-drop i've personally ridden
  18. Sorry, but Dragonforce tears those up by far, and the band members kick ***, i was hanging out with them after a concert here, it's impossible to deseat them as a favorite band for me
  19. *decloaks* Lets see *rummaging about on the fail shelf* Simple plan, nickelback, ALL RAP MUSIC, most country music singers, everything vaguely Emo/Goth/Punk/hip/cool/whiny Bands i listen to that dont suck? Dragonforce, Vanishing point, disturbed, Between the buried and me, and a lot of random artists that make the songs (Like the vertex series) from in the groove and DDR both lists could be longer, but the dust from moving the crap CD's on my fail shelf is annoying me
  20. /\ Correct If you look at that section of track from the ground, theres nothing there, just the metal bar on the track where they would go It's easily tied with Phantoms revenge as my favorite non-launch steel coaster
  21. While waiting for front row on Dominator at Geauga lake: GP: "F**k that! i'll lose my feet!" being spoken by a 5'4 or so person i about died laughing
  22. (Delurkage) I concur, lately, intamin has really been making some impressive rides, as has GCI and others And DenDen, Imagine if intamin re-did meanstreak, same layout, but intamin awesomeness and smoothness, /drool
  23. Meh, just another reason for me to go to kennywood instead, 40$ for a mediocre expirience with 3 reridable coasters (MF-Raptor-Maverick) or like $20 for the awesomeness of phantoms revenge and an amazing park expirience, not to mention KW is a shorter drive for me, so less wasted money on gas GG CP, you f*** up again
  24. Not this year it wont be, Its going to get its total retracking. http://www.martin-vleminckx.com/mv_en/work_in_progress.htm I cant wait for Villain and Big D to get re-tracked. Big D is going to FLY which means MORE airtime. Weeee. That and Ill be able ti enjoy Villain a bit more because it wont be beating the living daylights out of me. Agreed, dont hate on the wolf bobs around me.... Roughest coaster i've been on? the boomerang at geauga lake, i'd rather marathon mean streak at CP than ride that thing again
