Millennium Force Cable
Devious replied to CPmaverick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Remember however that both ends are under load, not just the forward end The back end is still very capable of breaking and causing the issue seen in the photo on P1, it's just less likely -
The Parks of Pennsylvania

Dunno, But CP-sized queues at Hershey/Kennywood magically seem to take like 20 minutes, compared to CP's hour or so EG: Phantoms revenge, back to ramp bottom near switchbacks = ~20m despite the 45 posted Storm runner: Full queue = ~45 mins at the worst on a bad day, 30 normally, MAYBE an hour if the second set of switchbacks is used CP? Millie, 2 train op, bottom of angled switchback area, hour long wait i dont get it, personally -
Magnum’s new sign at Cedar Point!
Devious replied to Coasterfanatic245's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Magnum in any car middle seat is pretty well full of "OMFG" Airtime, in the early part or later part (Night rides own) of the day The front car middle seat will murder you at night on the pre-turnaround hills, and the last car is suicide early morning in any seat also: i'm a 6'2 140lb enthusiast, i think his average is off by ~300lb Kennywood, Geauga lake (When it was still around) Idlewild, Indiana beach, and a lot of other "Smaller" parks than CP Are all better, and Kennywood sits at my #1 spot due to the absolutely amazing value (a day for me there, counting gas, food, tolls, admission, and parking, costs ~60$ compared to ~80 or more for CP) -
Magnum’s new sign at Cedar Point!
Devious replied to Coasterfanatic245's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, The new sign does look very good And it's all about the last car middle row, Ejector air EVERYWHERE and a moderately smooth ride to boot Guess i'll have to make a trip to CP Sometime this summer -
Okay, i wouldnt even glance at SOB now wheel seats were horrible with the loop at 6-er's, 4 seaters and all wheel seats has to be death

Kennywood 09 - opening day!
Devious replied to Kennyweird's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To me, the top of phantoms second hill is only really "Rough" in a bad way in the very back car Out of the 9 rides (2 front, 4 back, 3 in cars 4/5) i had, only the back car ones had any really "Rough" jerk to them, and even then, it wasnt that bad, it gave a suprising pop of airtime on the right side of the back row back car, if being a little rough The Kurve is rougher at turbo to me than that hill is, but i'm pretty tolerant Also: i should post the lovely picture of the back of your head from when we were in the line for Kurve -

Well, i was also there yesterday i think i actually ran into Myself and Kennyweird without even realising it at first Rides: Everything but kiddyland and water rides Weather: ~60 and sunny for most of the day with a lot of clouds and cooler spots here and there, no rain though Phantom: Got to it literally within 5 minutes of park opening, 6th in line, first public ride of the day, back car, front row STILL The best steel coaster for me, it's an absolute blast to ride, while still having the intensity you'd expect from a ride of this caliber and height, and the low height requirement allows absolutely EVERYONE to ride it, the 2nd hills top was a bit rough this year, especially in the back, but it's the only rough spot on the entire ride, got several rides (9 total) throughout my day Volcano: Best themed enterprise ever (Only themed one, maybe?) and still a fun relaxing ride, second ride of the day for me, no line until ~1pm that i saw Thunderbolt: Rode this front row with a kid that couldnt have been older than 14 (Was on one of the school trips there today) and needed a partner to ride with, i was blown away by how smooth it is now and we both couldnt stop laughing after the ejector air in the front seat before the lift until it hit the brakes, still a top 3 wooden for me (the only other one still standing is HP's wildcat) Took a few photos after i rode, and hit most of the flats i'd neglected til now Bayern Kurve: Still rediculous, it has it's horn (as myselfs video shows) and generally kept a good line throughout the day, Aside from being a little rough (Expectedly) it's still an amazing flat ride and worth the wait The whip: Still a fun little ride, rode it when i saw the hour-long wait for exterminator Pitt Fall: Great views of the park from the top, and still very intense and fun, i love it I went back up to the bayern kurve and volcano, rode them both again, running into Kennyweird (i think) after volcano while in line for the kurve it was around 1:30 at this point, so i headed back towards the kangaroo and the jack rabbit, Deciding i had time to ride the jack rabbit before meeting up at 2 I was wrong, ~2:20 i got off it, and headed toward GW, realized i missed it, and generally felt bad, sorry for missing that guys Popped off and headed in the direction of the food stand after the games walk near Ghostwood, and elected for the 5$ odd Chicken strips and fries with a small drink, 8$ for a Very filling meal (Huge portions) and i decided to watch The new BMX Show they have before heading off for more rides Hit up Extreme snoozefest (Still the longest line in the park) and phantom several times (Line had shortened to about 10 minutes for back half despite the 30m posted sign) before hitting the racer (It had closed earlier) and Aero 360, Racer was running a bit rougher in the back than last year, but was still fun Suprisingly, Cosmic Chaos had a shorter wait than normal (~5 minutes) as did swing shot, kangaroo, and the paratrooper afterwards, i opted for night rides on just about everything (Excluding exterminating my remaining 2 hours with the aptly-named ride) and left ~9:30 Overall: I wish i would have taken more pictures, honestly, but i'm glad the lines were still respectable and i was able to ride everything in the park i wanted to multiple times and generally have a ball -

i'll be there the second (Opening day) around 10am in the free parking area, if anyone will be there that early, i'll meet up with you around the escalators down to the entrance path Anyone afterwards, where SHOULD we meet up? and what time? -
i have a crazy book-o-death of flatrides i came up with that are pure insanity if things like that are what you mean like the "Gyrofire" like a ring of fire, only a bit taller with 3 tracks (2 extra in the normal one) that spin on different axis while the cars inside the 3rd go in the normal RoF loop Prolly completely unfeasible and a structural nightmare, but i can dream

The flaming fireball competition
Devious replied to the ghost's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Recreating it would remind me a lot of CS's "Holes" challenge if i remember right, it has some hilarious elements like an inverting tophat and stupidly placed elements and turns edit: http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/1674/scr1.jpg http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/5034/scr2.jpg to make this coaster in NL with livable G-forces would take a bit of time and skill, to 3ds it and such would take even longer it's a regular B&M Sitdown -

Devious replied to Jack Rimer's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Assuming the standard track here, one could always reverse or overbank the turns or just add more to them to make it less "Bland" but thats the whole point of making it customizable Cant wait for this =D -
Not really pissy-ness, just annoyed It's almost 4 years old, i gave up on this project and a good number of others a long time ago, and i generally dont like people digging up old crap i made since i consider this crap myself Seriously, the layout is terrible, the speed through it is terrible, the ending makes no sense at all, it has basically no airtime, and has generally terrible g's I've made more realistic coasters in RCT
-
^ Just....no, not backseat modding, here, just requesting that a project i completely gave up on over 3 years ago that shouldnt have been necro'd goes back to the bowls of death Lock requested
-
^ Up until it was reprofiled one of the circular loops and the weird sidewinder loop both pulled 6.5+ vertical Pinfari i believe, reprofiled it and lowered it to more in the 6g range

This coaster was posted almost FOUR YEARS AGO A. B&M DOES use overbank turns (See: Diamondback, etc.) VERY similar to what i used, tho the low ones were more intamin-y than anything B. if i wanted to bump it, i would go through, rebuild the stupid parts of it, heartline it, increase the first drop height (as to get more speed on the hills, as it lacks therem and generally make a much better ride out of it than what is here Just stop responding, and let it die
-
the banking^ NL's physics is already off dealing with it (not the same trains, for instance) but the ride features a lot of "Akward" banking all over it that keeps the G's in check that NL cant do Moonsault scramble/Zonga/Mindbender/etc are all exceedingly intense g-wise, scrambles been torn down, tho, sadly
-
^ you're not helping, y'know Just let it die, please
