How is it a different situation? Mine was me being an overly curious annoyed youth, and hurting myself in turn on a normal item that wasnt defective The kid in the article hurt himself with his food (that was supposed to be hot) because he grabbed the food tray (there's a lot of detail left out here, did he grab it from his parents and knock it over? did he move it too fast off a table? did it break when he grabbed it? etc.) "Different" only in terms of what happened, both are just examples of unfortunate accidents, the kid will recover, just as i did, he'll just have a scar and possibly a "Burning" hatred for nachos the rest of his life I do get your point, though, but, it's not too far off in legalese. -Devious "I'm going to hell for that" R.

I Have a permanent swell to one side of my bottom lip for deciding it was a good idea to unplug a running fan by using my mouth to unplug the cord from the extension cord it was plugged in to when i was like, 2 or 3 years old Did my parents sue? Naw, quick trip to the emergency room and a life lesson learned that electricity = fun stuff My point? Kids get hurt all the time, sometimes badly - it's happened to me, it's not a reason to sue, just a life lesson learned. 'sides, i still randomly scald myself with boiling water/Coffee all the time, but it's not like i sue the gas station for serving hot coffee because i hurt myself, i just suck it up and move on, S*** happens. I read the whole thread on their site, it was amazingly amusing. Hell, i've been here for *SIX YEARS* i joined in mid/late 2005 - it's now 2011 Sure, at times we've butted heads, robb, but like anything we're mature enough to work shit out like adults and just move the hell on - Rather than just throw childish False DMCA's and reports on things on the internet to try and get someone banned over it like a slow-motion directionless version of a 4chan raid -Zerethon "Brb, putting the tail on and raiding starbucks" T. Because i can. -

Good move, i did the same with my page and only very few things can actually be seen by anyone else Sucks that people are dickbags with no sense of humor or, at least, a pair of brass balls, but meh, s'the way the world goes Denzel "That Furry kid" R. -

My giant purple one has an inflation point for what i assume is a basketball-type pump, so it probably depends on what one you got -
And it's one of the most popular, and best, coasters they have! Perceived "danger" only drives people to it. People want to feel like they're living on the edge and taking a risk, when they know they're really perfectly safe. You hit the nail on the head *I* For one, welcome this new "Golden age" of lapbar-only inverting coasters, it'll be nice to see a Eurofighter with them - As done right, they'll be even more awesome

-Prevalence of the launched coaster, and the perfection of it for smaller rides (EG: Sky rocket, the launched Eurofighter, etc) -Intamin Prefabs --Intamin "Megalite" deserves a mention here -Depending on the outcome of the TG Makeover, Possibly Rocky mountain track (Serious potential for "Hybrid" woodies here) -Relative Perfection of the Flying coaster, Especially Vekomas, they need to build more of them. (Xflight/Firehawk is a beast) --Honorable mention to B&M here, while i find theirs tame, they do have their merits and some, like Tatsu, are pretty awesome LBNL -The 4-D Coaster, 'Nuff Said.

Wolf was an interesting one Compared to eagles fortress? Yeah, no contest, The fortress of F***F***F***F***F***F***F***F***F***F***F***! kicked the crap out of it However, The end of the ride, that mad-drop over the river into some wild-mouse-like laterals, absurd banking, and wild swinging leading into that final, anticlimactic turn to the breaks? Quite possibly the most fun element of any suspended ever i always rated it very highly, but it was a very overshadowed ride in it's final years, especially once griffon was added to the mix Though, that's not to say i wouldn't love to see a "Modernized" Version of it pop in

Ha, yeah, i lurked a while before the forum went live I Don't get it, i'm a member over there, i think i defended kat for like, 24 hours before she didn't actually show any proof of support or even a plan (I Can whip up plans for a multi-floor office building refresh of 300+ Seats, assign techs, and more, in a matter of hours) then i just said "Meh" I still support the Idea of dipper made to run again, but i won't support someone without a plan. -Z -

"Jeff" is Jeff shimko, or ffeje, he was part of the group who organized, arranged, and cleared the sale, did business directly with tom woosnam and the new owners. "We" Refers to those of us of GLT (Or, geauga lake today) who are personally helping out at the oktoberfest being held at the historical society to raise money to rebuild the hay baler barn for use as an exhibit Look, by my name and nature (Devious, or Zerethon {Which means despair}) i'm skeptical as all hell too, i personally volunteered to help *JUST* so i can meet some of these people casually and firsthand (Most of them i merely saw at the townhall meeting last ear) Yes, i know you've worked in the field, and i'm a youngling, but i'm also willing to see something like this through, and get my hands dirty to help out Even if it fails, i can sleep easier knowing i at least *TRIED* to make a difference, rather than speculating and heresay without ever lifting a finger either way (No offense to you or anyone, robb) -

*Sigh* Look, we'll have all the details most likely by the 10th (I'm assuming the owners will be at oktoberfest to meet the group who helped bring this much attention to it in the first place) We know this: 1. The people involved DO have the money to store, refurb, and relocate the ride, and have places in mind to move it 2. We do have people involved with expirience 3. The ENTIRE RIDE was surveyed to be rebuilt already, it was done in case it did end up demolished, a park could build a copy of it, using the trains 4. it really isnt a small job, they know this, a large part of the ride WILL have to be redone to rebuild it at it's new home No offense to our own TPR Experts here, but they DO know the risks, nothing was finallized until, LITERALLY, yesterday afternoon (when jeff personally called and told me that the check had cleared and it had new owners) Give them time to get going, at least? the website was tossed together something like 10 minutes after the deal closed, theres a more permanent one being made, i'd bet on it. and judging them purely on it is crass, even for us and our jumping-to-conclusions That said, if you really want to know everything firsthand, come to the historical society's oktoberfest this coming weekend, i'm sure people will be more than happy to answer questions (As i said, i'll keep a log of everything for anyone who misses it) we've been skeptical before, and been wrong, it could happen again. -

Theres a lot more here than whats been posted, robb, it's just more of the secrecy we've had since day one of the whole thing There are industry professionals involved, and (I know of 2, currently) Parks that are intrested in the ride I'm helping out with the oktoberfest this coming weekend, i'll find out everything i can from the guy who helped make this deal, maybe i can shed some more light, or at least, give you more solid info on it -

It's interesting that they got that donate button working before they could produce a credible-looking website. Its amazing how the paypal donation button is a single line of code you add to your website, isn't it? People, Please, just give it a rest for now The dipper *HAS* been bought, *WILL* be moving into storage, and will be reconstructed at a another park in the future, once it's been restored Once it's running again, that will be the second historic wooden coaster saved this year, and by enthusiasts, no less (First the CLP Blue streak grant we helped get, and now the big dipper) These are some of the rides that helped start the "Major" enthusiast movements and got a lot of our families into it, and even made some of us into enthusiasts. -

Reality check time, ready for this? "Closing down GL Was a sound business decision" is a load of steaming, rank s*** Yes, it was, but for who? ONLY CEDAR FAIR Anyone remember when you'd drive through that part of aurora, and you couldnt even find a parking space at the fast food places because it was so busy? I Do. Guess what, it's a ghost town now, the business are a lot slower, a few have outright closed, and the whole area is like driving through the bad parts of cleveland compared to the bustling business center it used to be Geauga lake was a MASSIVE draw to the area, stores nearby had LATE hours just to capitalize on the huge outrush of people leaving at park closing, and restocking what they used in the day or making quick grocery stops on the way home after a day at the park Closing GL Killed a huge amount of that business, now it's purely locals, when people from states away used to stop there after days at the park on the way back to hotels and such Yeah, the decision was great for cedar fair, and the people of Aurora and Bainbridge are still paying for it, WWK just doesn't have the draw the GL once did Yeah, saving dipper wouldn't bring it back either, but it would definitely be the start of something that might, at the least, redeem GL and bring back that lacking business
