Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

Agreed, the Layout looks sick 3 inversions, 2 vertical drops and some trick track for flair Looks like this could have some good forces and air to be on-par with Phantom -
Close enough, it's a Laser diode (In this case, high-power blue, hence the metal case) your turn

^ Nope, No, and Nope ^ Harder than i expected
-
No, nope, and nada Hint: it IS an electronic component, but you most likely wont find this in any camera except extremely specialized ones
-
Nope, a bit harder than that

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

This is known, it has 2 supports on the lift and a truss support before the actual lift track (where it angles up for it People are confused by the temp support, but the track looks bent on the webcam a bit, which is where i think his "Gap" is coming from, there's going to be a MUCH bigger gap between the station and that first tower when the lift is done it's going to be a thing of beauty looking over the side and seeing over 300 feet of empty air under you at the top of that lift -

Keep in mind that the webcam is distorting the image a bit due to the lens For instance, it looks as though the lift piece up to the temp support has a bend in it, when it doesnt in reality as we saw in the video And of course, outside the station where the cable lift engage system is there will be a couple feet of flat track before the actual curve up to the hill with an extension of the truss for the lift on it, look at a couple early construction shots for a good idea, or the bottom of millennium forces lift -

What is Phatnom's revenge? http://rcdb.com/123.htm Kennywoods Main Attraction, it has custom morgan lap-bars that highly resemble whats being used here, though TGG is going more the Maurer route with them and the seats (More curve and the "spike") -

^ I'm pretty sure the wide flat metal piece on the first car in that rendering is where the zero car goes, watch the video of the test train on raven, for instance Edit: Note the chassis-less car in the very front -

Quoted for truth They have a retro kind of look to them, kind of like an arrow looper train does, And i absolutely adore the style and the Phantom-like lap bars All the more reason for me to head back next year -

^ Yep, but that's the way it goes sometimes It's a welcome addition, if it rides anything like wicked, or any good premier launcher, it's going to be a favorite of mine being as close as it is Knowing Kennywood, i see no reason to think it will be a bad ride. -
Hey, Look, LOGIC! For the record, you're dead-on Arrow suspended supports after a while become loose and move (This is Very obvious in BBW's station, for instance) due to the design, after all BBW is a very early arrow (the first one to remain in continuous operation for multiple years, if memory serves) Replacing all of the concrete footers and repairing whatever stress damage on the track there is (and supports) and rehabbing the ride for another 25 years isnt honestly a very sound investment, as much as we would like it, it probably ain't going to happen

I dunno, 300ft into a ground level curve has the potential to be even MORE intense than millies first overbank -

Quoted. For. Truth. Another Intamin, that looks like it should be an absolutely sick ride, Within acceptable driving distance from me, ESPECIALLY with carowinds new ride coming in, is plenty for me to drool over Complainers should be grateful they are even MAKING this investment, for the position they are in, as much as i may not like CF -

Enterprises typically DO invert you, due to the fact that the wheel is vertical at full raise, or very close to it, putting the cars at the inversion point to 180deg or Very, Very, close to it From the ground however, it may not look it, due to the slight angle of the support for the wheel itself, but riding it will show you -

No, this is what you get when you have a company design and build a wooden roller coaster that is NOTORIOUS for bad craftsmanship, and then make well past the "Normal" limits of a wooden ride -

Honestly, i LOVE that little jerk at the top of hill 2, it kicks you out of your seat, BEFORE the steepening during the second drop, turning the whole thing into a free fall Lets hope they can smooth it out without killing that insane air And KK is fairly weak, as far as top spins are concerned, just so long as volcano stays i could care less -

Or, add a Hawaiian-themed family-friendly ride to replace it, and add some fog to volcano and that area, since that theme is a bit hard to remove with the volcano facade and all, unless they convert it to a martian theme or something to match the Disk-o nearby Volcano would look impressive with a white/green/purple light package and a martian black/silver paintjob i think
