How about #11....being the most disappointing one-trick pony of all time? -Bryan "still wishes it had crazy airtime like it did in 2000" Wood -

Milka is the best! Our former German exchange student sends me bundles of it all the time. Beats the heck out of any U.S. Chocolate bar! -Bryan "still devouring his Christmas package of Milka" Wood -

http://ptreport.thrillnetwork.net/images/sfmm/psyclone1.jpg I love that picture(I'm in the orange button-up)! I can caption myself shrugging...all I remember is "Am I really that much of a credit whore to risk my ribs, spleen and pancreas for this ride?" P.S. WTF? I look more tan than SoCal leatherface moms who fake and bake... -

If I lived in Western New York, I'd visit at least one a year to get some delicious S:RoS airtime... -

Agghh...I went into work last night and dealt with my co-manager (who is "senior" above me) and she said our District Manager loved who we left the store monday night. She then started raving about tiny things that had no baring at all. On top of that, she handed me 5 sheets of concession product from the past week and a half that needed to be recieved. It wasn't done because I was on vacation. So my peeve is that she whined, but she didn't do crap while I was on vacation and left everything for me to do when I got back. Sometimes it sucks being a reliable and hard-working person. You get the shaft really bad sometimes. -Bryan "I wrote up someone higher on the pecking order than myself for the first time last night" Wood

Today is a little odd of a mix for me, but it's stuff straight from my childhood...Billy Joel and Guns n' Roses. This doesn't make any sense to me, either, but this is my eclectic taste...

Whats the most involving coaster area?
TheGreatOne replied to ChrisFL's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd have to say Silver Bullet is one of the most involving coasters for me...you walk just a few feet away from the ride...and no nets! -Bryan "Surprised CF hasn't put up nets around that ride" Wood -

You forgot to add the part where the kid took about 20 seconds to aim at something in the Shooting Gallery and right before he shot, I set off the camera flash, every trick went off, and he pulled up and looked really confused. That was hilarious! -Bryan "I love being an idiot-jerk" Wood P.S. I, too, was completely underwhelmed and would choose any other park on the trip over Knott's. -
Right on...I realized the other day that I hadn't popped in my Rammstein CD in a while...good stuff! I've never been to one of their concerts, but I hear they're very "interesting"...I used to listen to Rammstein and Pantera to pump myself up before football games. As for right now, it's "Tranquility" by Between Home and Serenity. They're a sort of local band from Cleveland that is beginning to break out.

This is me devouring a giant turkey leg that tasted like ham and not turkey at Disneyland last week. 6 parks in 5 days...it was a fun trip! I'll probably have more pictures to post soon. I'm a carnivore!

Six Flags Price Increases
TheGreatOne replied to GAcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm lucky...I already visited SFMM, plan on visiting SFoG, SFStL and Great Adventure with possibly SFKK, SFDL and SFGAm as well. I have only one thing to say... I'm a tool. -
Which is worse, Arrow or Vekoma?
TheGreatOne replied to MLRC7 CP's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me, it goes like this: Arrow Coasters I like: X Big Bad Wolf Carolina Cyclone Loch Ness Monster Viper-SFMM Anaconda Steel Phantom-RIP Vekoma Coasters I like Deja Vu's Disney's Vekomas I actually like quite a few Arrows, but the ones that are bad are bad. Then again, I really don't like many Vekomas. Therefore, Vekoma is "worse" to me. -

TheGreatOne replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ahhhh you are awesome! you like the silver comet AND you quote the rasmus in your sig!!! Yeah, I tend to be awesome. I'm like Keanu Reeves and Arnold Schwarzenegger combined without any of the idiocies. If they could only find a way to put Silver Comet and Superman in the same park, I'd be more tempted to go to Buffalo more often. As far as holding it at SFDL for storage...I'm not sure I see the logic of letting it sit. Sure, it's probably not the best ride, but SFDL could use something else to entertain the people who come for thrills. It's not like it could possibly be rougher than Mind Eraser.... -Bryan "Mind Eraser permanently damaged the 'sanity' portion of my brain" Wood -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
TheGreatOne replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I went to SRM in 2002 and 03, the Friday morning before the event started (it started at 6pm on Friday) was empty both years and I got tons of rides. But then again, the park gets a lot more guests then they used to. -

TheGreatOne replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really enjoyed SFDL a few years back, and I'm thinking of visiting this year (only because I want to ride Silver Comet again really bad and will stop at SFDL for a few hours). That park needs something new in the thrills department in the worst way. It felt that way when I was there a few years ago, I can't imagine what it must feel like now! -Bryan "SFDL is easily the cleanest and best landscaped SF park I've been to" Wood -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
TheGreatOne replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It is. But Holiday World makes it so fun that it makes that fact irrelevant. It's amazing how much nice and efficient employees can make things so much better. Where else do you have maintenance workers come up and ask you if you like how their coasters are running and if they can be improved? -
Your 2005 Year In Review!
TheGreatOne replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't even remember what I said. As for me: --Your 2005 year in review: This was probably my worst year since becoming an enthusiast in terms of trips. I blame Arizona. I just got back from SoCal, but it doesn't count towards 2005. First time visits: Cliff's, Mt. Olympus, Timber Falls, SFGAm, Indiana Beach. Repeat visit: CP. --Your first coaster of the year: New Mexico Rattler. Outstanding ride. --Your last coaster of the year: Cornball Express, Indiana Beach. --Best new steel to me: Raging Bull. Didn't ride many new ones, and this one stood out among the others. Finally getting a Deja Vu credit was nice as well. --Best new wood to me: Hades or Avalanche. Six months later, I still can't decide. LoCoSuMo was just crazy and gets a very honorable mention. --Best new flat ride to me: Robocoaster at Mt. Olympus. Just nuts. That was one of the craziest rides I've been on, period. I'm glad I payed $2 for the most intense cycle. --Best new water ride to me: I don't think I rode any, sadly. --Best new dark ride/walk through to me: Den of Lost Thieves, pretty fun, but winner by default. --Best new water park attraction to me: No waterparks this year. --Best new park to me: Six Flags Great America. Great park, it felt more like an Anheuser-Busch park than a typical SF park. I renamed it Busch Gardens Chicago. --Best park "moment" of the year: My first ride on Avalanche. I'm pretty sure that's the only time I've laughed through an entire ride. It was so crazy and fun. --Best overall park "trip" of the year: My road trip to Dells, GAm, IB. --Worst new attraction (any kind) to me of the year: Maxair at CP. After loving Delirium at PKI and seeing CP running theirs not nearly as hard, it was just a "meh" experience for me. --Best event at a park: None this year, but I'm heading to Spring Fling, Holiwood Nights and hopefully Coaster Madness this year. --Best non-event day at a park: Mt. Olympus/Timber Falls. Crazy rides, not heavy lines and Culver's. --Best non-park related moment of the year: Finally visiting Wrigley Field. Being a huge baseball buff, it was so much fun to visit a place like Wrigley. --Favorite TPR post/thread of the year: Anything out of the mouth of Thrillrider15. I love lowering by IQ while browsing the internets. --Best Amusement related news of the year: Six Flags Changeover, Cedar Point actually going for a new non-coaster ride over a one-trick pony coaster for two years in a row. --Worst Amusement related news of the year: Astroworld, Libertyland's goodbyes. --Ride that I had to rethink my opinion of in 2005: Magnum really ran well this year and I fell in love with it again. --Hopes for 2006: Visiting all my old favorite parks like PKI, Kennywood, Knoebel's and Holiday World when I move back to Ohio and visiting new to me parks like Dollywood, Beech Bend, Great Adventure and hopefully a weekend at Lake Compounce and SFNE. -

I thought SFoT's Looping Starship was coming from SFoG. And as far as the SFA rumor "starting on Screamscape"...anyone can make up something and submit it. I heard this from someone before the rumor hit Screamscape who is in the know at the park. -

A little birdie told me Six Flags America is the only park in the SF chain that would get it.
