Chuck's Busch Gardens Williamsburg Thread

Who doesn't love a little pirate theming? Hopefully I can get down there and check it out in person. Now if only they could serve the grilled Greek honey cheese during Howl-O-Scream... -

I enjoyed the park and finally getting to ride an X-Car coaster, except for when TP Dave smacked me in the nose while riding it... ouch. Their water park looked pretty nice and I wouldn't mind going back to check it out. Another great update Marcel. -
I went to the park for an hour last week with a friend. Like everyone says, the operations are meh, but the park has always been empty when I have gone. if they are only ever used to empty stations I can get why the ops are not rushing to dispatch at any sort of pace. Not that it's excusable but just an observation. And given we walked onto every ride we wanted to I didn't feel the need for speedier ops that day. It was interesting riding Jokers Jinx after just ridding Poltergeist at SFFT. The pacing is noticeably slower on JJ, those extra few MPH really make a difference in the ride experience. I also felt Mind Eraser wasn't too bad after giving it a curtsey ride, there are far worse running SLCs out there. Surperman while still a fun ride, seems to have gotten quite the shimmy and shakes. It's not painful but noticeable especially along the straight aways and in the both helixes. I recall Darien Lakes running much better when I rode it last year. Oh and their swing ride was making some god awful squealing noise that I hope gets taken care of soon.

Worst Coaster Experience
SuperShawn replied to airforcekid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My 3rd ride on Hades 360 during our ERT session. I had ridden the back and front which were doable and then for this lap sat in one of the middle rows. The pains in my lower back were on par if not worse with how I felt after the 100th lap of Jaguar during coasting for kids. Never have I completely and utterly wanted a ride to end, be able to get off and watch it burn than during that ride. -
It's my friday night, feeling relaxed and half a bottle of wine into a care free evening.

Between the level of theming, fly throughs, and a slightly more unique looking layout this seems a little more interesting to me than the other wing riders that have been built. This could finally be a win for B&M wing riders instead of another just kind of there one. -
Dressing up into semi-formal or business casual attire doesn't have to be uncomfortable or vacation ruining. At least to me wearing a pair of slacks or khakis and a dress shirt for an evening isn't all that different in comfort level from cargo shorts and a Hawaiian shirt or polo all day. I for one look forward to the formal nights and dressing up on my first cruise.

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Sad to hear that after all the time and effort the Timberliner trains are being completely nixed. Now to try to figure out bumping up my first visit to Holiday World just incase they decide to make a more drastic change to Voyage in the coming year(s). -

^ Say it isn't so! That's such tasty Fondu it can't be discontinued! Looks like I can numb the possible lose with the new Dessert booth items, Hazelnut Chocolate Cheesecake yum! And then there is this: Always excited by new food to try, but Vegetarian Haggis? Really? -
Disney D23 Expo 2013
SuperShawn replied to ILoveRides's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Definitely intrigued by what the take on Into the Woods will be, and also curious about the Cinderella version specifically if they go with a darker take on it. Maleficient I am really iffy on since she is my favorite Disney Villain and not too sure how the live action will pan out. Only time will tell. Great coverage David, seems like it was a blast for your and Spears. -

While it is a bit sad that the whole SFOT stuff didn't pan out as hoped, I'm actually glad it didn't because Summer Adventures was such a surprise and there's a good chance I would otherwise have never gone down there. The Dark ride and crazy spinning kiddie coaster were some of the biggest surprises of the trip. Also loved that the employees were happy, enjoying their jobs and extremely welcoming. Great updates by the way Erik! -
Building the sunsphere now and just started Snake on his task to get Eddie and Lou unlocked. I've really been neglecting my Springfield and just focusing on getting Krustyland land stuff. Guess this update might balance that out for a bit. Only getting tickets so far.

Texas/Midwest 2013 Tour Mini-Updates!

Those faces sum up the ride experience so well! Reminds me of laughing at all the painful yells we heard while waiting in the station. -
Texas/Midwest 2013 Tour Mini-Updates!
SuperShawn replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Going back through these updates is already reminding me of some of the highlights: Finally meeting a coaster I couldn't marathon (Hades 360). City Museums completely wrong and injury filled fun. Eating our way around SDC for 16 hours. A last minute trip to the Texas State Fair. Surprise stop at Little America. Disco ERT on Viper Backwards. Maverick ERT (Thanks Kyle and crew it was a blast!). Ending the trip with glow Millennium Force ERT and drinks at TGIFs. A huge thank you to Robb and Elissa for setting up these two weeks of fun. You guys are the best and I can't wait to do another trip next year. -
