  1. Awhat up, awesome light package. Seriously, more coasters should have track lights like this - and not only woodies.
  2. How cute. First they rip off the SLC design (to this day, I still am trying to figure out why they chose that one to copy, of all the rides out there), then they "rip off" the SF Serial Thriller color scheme. Looks like a winner to me.
  3. ^^That certainly sounds like the common reaction to an SLC.
  4. Am I the only one who finds it awkward that they play the games in middle-school gyms?
  5. I mean, they have the Lingerie Football League, why not the Lingerie Basketball League?
  6. Since I didn't find a topic about cycling, I figured I might as well start one. I'm not a professional cyclist by any means, but I do enjoy going out on a ride as often as I can. I've been riding on a big-ass mountain bike for a while, but about a month and a half ago I got myself a nice road bike. I must say, that thing rides so much easier than the mountain bike. Since I got it, I've put a little over 400 miles on it, and I'm hoping to ride a lot more before the weather gets really crappy here in the next month or so. I haven't ridden in any tours or anything yet, but I'm planning on doing a few next season (most of the ones around here are done for the year, so it's probably my best bet to look ahead to next year). I'm also going to try to ride the Pelotonia next year as well, as I've been wanting to do that for the past 2 years, but it just hadn't worked out that I'd be able to ride. Hopefully that will change next year. Anyone else have anything to share or discuss about riding?
  7. Yes. And it sucked majorly. Have you ever gone to the store and completely forgot what you went there to get?
  8. No fan base should have to endure Joe Bauserman. None. I dunno why Fickell doesn't give Kenny Guiton a shot, especially if Braxton can't play next weekend. There's no way he's worse than Bauserman.
  9. Houdini -- Foster the People
  10. ^Classic. Westboro is a bunch of brainwashed morons. But we already knew that, didn't we?
  11. Punching In A Dream -- The Naked and Famous
  12. Holy crap, that doesn't even look like him. It's a sad, sad day in the entertainment industry. Apple literally revolutionized the MP3 player, and it's going to be different without Jobs' innovation.
  13. ^Except that KI is the one open 2 more hours.
  14. Do they still take down the scrambler for Haunt and use it's pad as the Massacre Manor queue as they've done in past years?
  15. Nice pics, but I have to ask - what the hell is with the half-and-half support colors on the Motocoaster? It looks like someone got lazy at the paint factory.
  16. ^Interesting. Can't say that I've seen a ride graveyard at KI in the past - only the one at CP. We can only hope that they're hinting at the end of SoB forever.
  17. I'm kinda surprised no one's mentioned Wicked Twister yet. Both in architecture (simplistic yet graceful and effective) and location (right on the CP beachfront), I think it's one of the better stations. Plus, the lack of a drop floor results in a number of great footchoppers as you shoot through the station.
  18. After reading that Mindbender pr0n, I feel like I need to shower. ...must get on a TPR trip soon...
  19. I've never understood why Invertigos (and possibly other Boomerangs, though I don't know since I haven't been on one yet) need the giant prison gates, when Intamin Impulse rides can function just fine with the regular air gates. I think the worse I've been in is The Beast's. I love the ride and the station atmosphere, but the sole fact that they have a few rows of switchbacks in the station just make it a gigantic cluster when people don't know where they are going in the line.
  20. *And you should feel proud, as I believe this is the second facepalm you've received from me - quite the accomplishment.
  21. ^^No, it starts out like Batman, but continues on a different course after the second loop. And it's also built by Giovanola. This gives you a good idea of the layout. Pic from RCDB.
  22. ^Jeezus H. Christ, will nothing please you?? Here's a little list that I just thought up of possible reasons for a long brake run: - Taller coaster = faster speeds = more distance needed to safely stop the train. - No MCBR, so a longer brake run is necessary to hold more blocks, and therefore run 3 trains efficiently. - To allow for the ride to stop at a more gradual pace and not tear up the wheels (as was mentioned above). - To break the world record for longest brake run on a roller coaster. In all honesty, though, is it really that important to the ride itself? Would an extra hill or two really have made this ride more awesome than it already is? It's a completely bad-ass B&M giga coaster, I don't see how much there is to complain about. It sure as hell seems like you're just bitching for the sake of bitching. So, kindly stop it, as I'm sure no one here enjoys reading over-emphasized complaints.
  23. Only one for me, Maverick in '07. Not only was it in the first year, but on Opening Day after the delayed replacement-build. EDIT: Oh, are we counting rides, and not just coasters? Then you can add Skyhawk to that list for me as well. DOUBLE EDIT: And Firehawk.
  24. And just when you thought that the video-games-to-movies transition couldn't get any worse than Bloodrayne.
