The uniform designers at adidas ought to be fired on the spot. Some of the ugliest unis I've ever seen. Not every school needs to be like Oregon...

That's probably what I'll end up doing. If lines aren't outrageous, I don't mind waiting, but I'd want to get the passes if its going to be a busy day. I'd rather not spend the money beforehand and find out that I won't need them that day. -

Hopefully this doesn't get buried too quickly... I was thinking about making a trip to KI next Sunday, Aug. 26. I'm not sure when school starts down there, but if its the same as around herein Columbus, it'd be next week some time. That being said, with it being a Sunday after school has started, would the Fast Lane be a good idea? I haven't been to the park for a few years, so I'm not sure how busy it is on a Sunday this time of the year. -

Some people just can't be happy with anything, can they? I think this looks fantastic. I'm thinking that the entrance might just be a basic design in the renderings and will be more creative once its built. -

Ugh, are we seriously going back to the whole Maverick is rought/Maverick isn't rough/yada yada yada argument?? Just a wild shot in the dark, but what if the WingRider ends up being on inverted track, much like Raptor's? The trains would still seat off the sides of the track, but the track rails would be toward the bottom rather than the top? I doubt they would do this, but its the first thing that popped into my head when they mentioned Raptor in that teaser pic. -

Well, I wasn't aware the track was being made from Swiss cheese. This thing looks amazing. The only concern I have (and I'm being completely serious) is that it doesn't end up like SoB and have structural problems - especially through the barrel roll. I'm sure RMC has taken it into account, and the main track supports are on steel I-beams, but until then there is that lingering thought in my head. -

Well, that didn't take long, did it? I'm actually glad to see it go, it was way overdue for demolition and was horribly outdated and boring. Sure, it was unique and all, but that was really about it. And now, if we want to cool off in the middle of summer, we can instead go to one of the restaurants and have beer instead. -
^^^Let's see if I can help you a bit. The cheapest, dirtiest crap I've come across is a running tab of crummy beer, including Natural Light, Milwaukee's Best (Beast), Keystone Light, and PBR. I'd try to avoid those as best you can. The next step up would be your generics - Bud/Bud Light, Miller Lite/MGD, yada yada yada. I personally don't mind them myself, but I know a lot of people don't like the watery taste to them. If you're looking for something that tastes good and is still fairly cheap, I'd go for Yuengling/Yuengling Light. Its around the Bud Light price range, but upteenth times better in terms of quality and taste. The only problem is that it's only available in certain areas (mostly the East Coast - they just expanded here into Ohio in October of last year), so depending on where you are, it might be difficult to find. If you want to go a little more expensive, try Leinenkugel or Sam Adams. Both brands have a number of different styles, but the seasonals by them (Sam Adams' Summer Ale and Leiney's Summer Shandy) are probably some of the best beers around. The standards are good as well. The thing about the craft brewers is that there are so many styles and types of brews that you might have to experiment a little to find the beer you like best. But that's what they make the sample boxes for. Hopefully that's some good info to help you get started.

Simply to play devil's advocate, maXair and Delirium were installed under two separate ownerships, well before CF purchased the Paramount Parks. But I get your point. And if the reason for the upper deck on Space Spiral being closed was due to the heat, it must've been unbearable. The bottom level felt like a sauna on some days. And the filthy, never-seen-Windex-ever windows made the views and potential photography options awful. At least the Giant Wheel is still in the vicinity to get some of the views from that side of the park. -

Since this is cycling-related and doesn't really merit it's own thread, I'm posting it here. Any questions about it can be directed to me. Please consider helping!! -- I've decided to participate in an experience that raises funds for a great cause, and I need your help. Pelotonia is a grassroots bike tour with one goal: to end cancer. More than 10,000 supporters are expected to be a part of Pelotonia 12 on August 10-12, 2012. The ride will span two days and will cover as many as 180 miles. In its first three years, Pelotonia has attracted over 8,300 riders from 38 states, over 2,800 volunteers, hundreds of thousands of donors and raised $25.4 million for cancer research. In 2011 alone, a record $13.1 million was raised. Because operational expenses are covered by Pelotonia funding partners, 100% of every dollar raised is donated directly to life-saving cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. I am writing to ask you to help me raise funds for this incredible event. Large or small, every donation makes a difference. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer. One of every two American men and one of every three American women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. By supporting Pelotonia and me, you will help improve lives through innovative research with the ultimate goal of winning the war against cancer. I would love to have your support, as this is truly a unique opportunity to be a part of something special. When you follow the link below, you will find my personal rider profile and a simple and secure way to make any size donation you wish. Think of this as a donation not to me, or Pelotonia, but directly to The OSUCCC-James to fund cancer research. Please consider supporting my effort and this great cause. My rider profile can be found at the following link: http://www.mypelotonia.org/riders_profile.jsp?MemberID=172792 Thanks for the support! Sincerely, Derek DiSabato (DiSab)

^Well, technically, you got Carter from us, but it is what it is. Just glad I never have to watch Carter give less of a f*** while playing in a Jackets uniform again. He's turrible.

Honestly, with the speed that the cars came into the brakes with, I'm surprised there weren't more collisions than there were. I'm glad its being removed, though, it has always looked run-down and out of place, and the cramped cars didn't help the ride experience. -

At this point, I'm still just trying to figure out why the hell Howson is still employed. We need him and the rest of the front office gone if we are even going to have a chance as a successful team.

I'd much rather have Johnson than Carter.

That's what you get when you go the "cheap" route and have it built by RCCA, instead of doing it the right way. Let's be completely honest, though. The ride isn't that great. It's big, and fast, and impressive looking, for sure, but that's it. It's going to take a hell of a lot more work than just around the rose bowl to make that thing even remotely ridable again. And even if they do make it more sturdy, the ride is still intensely boring. At this point, I think their best bet is to just offload that piece of crap and tear it down once and for all. -

In regards to The Crypt, if I remember correctly, the ride itself has had a lot of technical problems throughout its entire life. After they neutered it by removing the Tomb Raider theme, it was just a big honkin' tempermental flat in a giant aluminum box. To be completely honest, I'm shocked it took them this long to pull the plug on it. -

+1. And I agree wholeheartedly. The over-the-head lapbars are certainly going to be interesting to see. I'm assuming the connecting bars will be shaped along the seats so they aren't in the way of the upper body. -
We just find new and exciting ways to lose games this year. Not a good season at all. Oh, and Lombardi's explanation about the whole thing is the biggest bunch of **** I've ever heard.
