I'm split on how I'll feel about him from now on, but it's probably better for him in the end. He didn't need to go through the Sandusky trial.
-
^Regardless, I'm pretty sure the general consensus is that it was a boring game and didn't need to be a rematch.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
DiSab replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Since I've never been to Hershey before, the initial release made it very hard to really see where the ride was being built, the surrounding landscape, etc. You would think that with the massive buildup they had for the ride they would have put a little more effort into the animations to give the potential newcomers a better idea of the finished product. Personally, that'd probably the main reason why I'm so underwhelmed. To me, it just seemed like a twisty coaster plopped over water. Now that there have been some more pictures of the progress that really show the scale for the ride, I will admit that it is looking better. I'm sure the completed ride will be fantastic, especially as the testing starts and we get a much better view of the scale and terrain interactions of the ride. But with what we've been given from the park since day one, it really didn't grab me right away like some of the other recent announcements did. That's all I'm saying. -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Hmmm... I dunno. Maybe its just me, but I'm really not "feeling" this ride. I don't know why, since I love other Intamins, but I just don't get the same feeling about this one as I have in the past. Maybe its that I've never been to Hershey, so I don't know the park layout and the location of the ride. Maybe it's the turrible animation of the ride. But I've just been kinda underwhelmed by this one since the beginning, and I still am underwhelmed. I should be getting some sort of a feeling looking at the construction, but its just not doing anything for me. Maybe that'll change when the construction if finished, testing pics and videos start coming out, and I eventually get to ride it, but at this point, I'm just not seeing anything "amazing" about this ride. -

^You forgot the colon in the destination address. This just gets sexier and sexier. I think its finally time to apply for a passport. -

At least they ride better than Boomerangs. /Disclaimer - I still have yet to ride a Windseeker or a regular Boomerang (though I have been on an Invertigo), so this is solely based on hearsay. -
Ryan Braun tests positive for PEDs. Thoughts on this one? Myself, I'm kinda surprised. Given that he's been adamantly against the use of PEDs in his career, and has been used as an example for doing it the right way, it seems odd that he'd show up in this discussion. A lot of rumbling in the NL Central, with Pujols leaving, Fielder possibly leaving, and now this.

^Which is why I think having the coaches' poll influence the BCS rankings is a major problem in an already problematic system.
-
^^^I stand corrected. Regardless, the BCS is still a complete cluster, and the NCG matchup this year just proves it. Hopefully the NCAA comes to its senses and starts to figure out a way a playoff system will work. In other news, the Big East is rumored to add a number of teams to its conference, including some from the west coast. I wonder if that means they'll change the conference name? Might I suggest, the "Still Crummy at Football Conference?"
-
Remember a few years back when Saban said that a team that doesn't win their conference has no business playing in the NCG? I really hope a reporter calls him on his bulls*** sometime soon.
-
^Same with us in Columbus. PHX certain seems like it will be the next team to relocate, so maybe the East with fewer teams was actually done to accommodate that. Of course, if that doesn't happen, I'm sure the league could look into expanding to 32 teams within the next few years to get an even number throughout all 4 conferences. But no matter what, the new alignment is nice, since there will be fewer long-distance trips and every team gets to see every other team at home at least once a year, which is one of the better points of the proposal.
-
Different? Yes. Better? Maybe. Will it work? Who knows. It's definitely an improvement for a lot of the teams who wanted the re-alignment in the first place. As a fan, at least this means much less of those killer West-coast road trips for the Jackets. We're not solely in the Eastern time zone like I was hoping, but I definitely think its better logistically to have 4 conferences instead of 2. But the playoffs will be a cluster, for sure.

Reason #864 the BCS is flawed - Virginia Tech gets steam-rolled by 30 and still gets into a BCS bowl.

TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl > National Championship Game. I mean, seriously, the NCG is a rematch of one of the most boring games in recent memory? So much for the whole "the regular season is the playoff, so we don't need a postseason playoff" viewpoint. The BCS really messed this one up, big time.
-
You're welcome. But seriously, that was one of the few bright games for us this season. It's really a difference when we have all the big off-season acquisitions healthy together. It's also not a bad thing that Mason isn't in the net to give up goals he shouldn't. I really think the biggest problems we've had have been with him. I really think he's more suited for a back-up role, not the everyday player like he was his rookie season. It's just a shame his production from that season fell off so much.

I've always liked the two-toned tracks that Mantis and Raptor have, so it's nice to see another park venturing into this territory. And I agree, I wish more parks would do this for their coasters. -
^Agreed, I saw it with my girlfriend tonight and I really enjoyed it.

Had a glass of Barleywine tonight at Barley's, a local brew pub. It was an intense beer, definitely more suited to sipping than drinking. But I did enjoy it.

Upgraded to a Droid Incredible 2 today. After having a DumbPhone for so long, it's nice to have something this awesome. I've had it for about 12 hours and I already love it.
