Honestly, I'm kinda surprised this doesn't happen more often to these rides, given how fast they come into the unloading station from that final helix. Although I'd hate to see it go, it might be time to think of something else to put there. They could easily fit a custom Maurer Sohne or Gerstlauer spinner in there, if they were to replace it.

Maybe I'm ignorant to the fact, or maybe I've missed it, but how different are the dynamics of this ride compared to the steel bobsled coasters? Is it the fact that its wooden, or the completely different layout design that's making this such a difficult project?

It seems the Thrashers couldn't wait to Jet out of Atlanta. I guess it was just a layover before the team Jetted back to Canada. OK, enough of the crappy puns. It really does suck for the Atlanta fans, 'cause it seemed like the Thrashers were a good fit for them. And their arena is really nice, too. Suck to have lost an NHL team once, but twice is really tough. I think the most interesting part, though, will be the inevitable conference re-alignment. I'm hoping that the eastern-most Western Conference team - my CBJ - get transferred to the Eastern Conference to even it out. I still hold that the reason we play so crappy is because we play half our games in a different time zone, and the travel time wears us out by the middle of the season.

I think they did a really good job with the ride, but I just don't get the yellow in the loop. Yes, it's for the theme, to go with Parallax, but there really isn't anything around the loop itself to distinguish it. I really think it just looks out of place on the ride. (At least on Dominator, the yellow loop isn't a radically different color than the rest of the orange track.) Maybe I'm just being picky, but they should've at least made it more clear why one part of the ride is yellow, and maybe incorporated some theming or something to go with it. Regardless, it's still a great looking ride. Always nice to see good rides get a new life at another park.

The ride in probably too compact to allow them to put in real fire (if I had to guess). Even if the fake fire doesn't look the greatest, it means less maintenance, and that (hopefully) leads to SF keeping it around longer than one season.

From what I've heard, they're now saying that he had at least one gun close to the door of the room he was in, and was apparently moving toward it when the SEALs shot him. Not sure how concrete or true that is, but it's just what I heard from CNN today.

Who knows how much longer it'll take for this to play out - it could be a few years, or it could be a lot longer. But the most important thing is that this is a massive blow to the organization, and after 10 years we finally have justice served.
