A wicked, mutant foreskin?

There are a lot of bad woodies out there (like Mean Streak), but there is nothing - and I mean nothing - on nearly the same level of awfulness as Son of Beast. One of the all-time worst-designed rides ever. I can only hope this investigation closes that damn thing for good - that area of land can be used for so much more than that piece of crap. Every ride feels like my insides are being rearranged...

I haven't ridden Shock Wave, so I don't know how crazy it is. However, I have to disagree with you there. I don't think anything can match bacon. Except more bacon. Looking forward to the rest. So far so good.

Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out -- Bruce Springsteen

^I dunno, sometimes they can be fun to watch. Especially when they are stumbling up an icy hill in the middle of winter in heels. Hilarity ensued.

Uterus: The Ride - that could be the most epic WIN in quite some time. Kieppi looks like a Breakdance on steroids. But without the nasty, Barry-Bonds-like side-effects.

Regarding that yellow label on the track pieces... I believe that they are either warnings not to use chain directly on the pieces to lift them into place, or they are showing the workers where to attach the chains/ropes/etc. so the pieces are balanced while in the air and don't slip out of place. -
I know they were talking about the Roethslisberger accusation some on SportsCenter today. It wasn't a lot, mostly just when he had that quick press conference regarding the accusations.

I'll air-drum every now and then, but I'm more of an air-guitarist. I'll do it anywhere, too. In the car. Walking to class. Anywhere.
-
^I dunno, from what I've heard about the ride that could be the best thing for it.

Holy crap, one of the best drum songs ever. And even better live.

Absolutely awesome pictures. I only wish I had throngs of adoring fans following me around everywhere.

Kings Island Trip report 7-17-09

In all honesty, DB (or really any B&M) doesn't break down that much. Sounds like you just went on a bad day. DB's line really does move quickly. When I was there, the line went all the way to Rivertown Junction with full switchbacks. We were in the station in under an hour. -

I would imagine they would tear it up. Dominator was built partially over a parking lot at KD, and they ended up tearing it up during construction. I would imagine they would do the same here. -
Just a quick question as well - I won the Screamscape ticket giveaway to Dollywood, so I'll likely be making a trip there later this season. I have a 42-44 inch waist and am around 270 pounds. Given my problems at KI a few weekends ago, I was wondering if I can expect any problems at DW. I know I'll get into TN Tornado fine, but never having ridden a GCI or a Gerstlauer before, I don't know how forgiving they are. If MF trains are anything like PTC's I might have some problems. If anyone has any info that'd be great.

Firehawk =/= Thunderhawk. FAIL. I know its hard to believe, but I heard that most rides has ridiculous waits this past weekend. I guess a company decided to have a corporate event the same day as the public was there, resulting in lines nearly twice as long as usual. Apparently here's what I heard about the lines (in case anyone was curious): -DB's line stretched all the way past Rivertown Junction -Beast was backed up past the photo booth with a full queue -Racer had at least half the switchbacks on each side filled -FoF was out into the X-Base plaza -Firehawk was more than a 3-hour wait -etc. etc. etc. -
I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed.

Has a waterslide ever scared you?
DiSab replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Speed slides (the near-vertical ones) scare the living shit out of me. I don't do well with free-fall experiences (which is why I don't ride drop rides, skycoasters, etc.), and the fact that these have nothing to keep you from falling off the slide but your own momentum really messes with my mind. The only time I rode one, my heart rate was about 1,000x faster than normal for the next 2 hours. not a pleasant experience. -

^If that's the case, what do people want? Every park to have the exact same rides with no variety whatsoever? (Not saying that you think that's the case, but just in general) -
That's exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago. I've got wider hips and thighs than normal, but a 44-inch waist. That's what gives me the most problems. The seats on DB were deep enough, but I couldn't get my ass down into it enough for the lapbar to lock - I had trouble squeezing in width-wise. Those extensions along the side of the B&M seats sit right where my hips are, so its hard for me to get down into them. PTC trains are a little bit of a squeeze, but I can push my legs down so the lapbar locks. And only enough, I have no problems whatsoever on the Arrow OTSRs. Even though I have a bit of a gut, Arrows lock with plenty of extra room.

Copper Mine (NoLimits)
DiSab replied to haux's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
If only Arrow or Vekoma made a mine ride like this... A little bumpy, but that's the norm for those kinds of rides. Awesome layout and setting. I really liked some of the parts when the banking threw the train to the side quickly. Overall its a very good ride. -

You're... you're kidding, right? Right?? Doing this is, like they've said above, completely illogical and a waste of time and money. It's not going to happen. KD is getting the Intamin that is being delivered to the park. They won't be moving the track to another park. End of story. -
Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but it looks like Goliath could use a new coat of paint already. And considering the ride's only 4 years old, that's pretty bad if it's faded that much...
