  1. At SF Great America, get there about 30 minutes early and head for Superman: Ultimate Flight. They let people into that park of the park only and you can line up early for it. If you wait on Superman, even on weekdays, the line is well over an hour within 30 minutes of opening. After that hit V2 and Raging Bull. Both lines can get over an hour by noon on weekdays. The Gold Flash pass for just 2 people will run about $100, so if you can hit those 3 early, you can do everything in a day easy. My other advice is to hit Kiddieland on the same day as Indiana Beach. The park takes under 2 hours to do everything in the park twice. The place is a great throw back to the days of the 50's kiddielands that were everywhere in the country.
  2. I can help you with Kiddieland, as I went there closing day last year. This is from the park map. The Little Dipper is 44" to ride alone. I know I saw small children ridding with adults no problem. The following are for rides that have a true minimum 36" min w/ adult - Log Jammer, Pipeline & Ferris Wheel 38" min w/ adult - Din 'n Drop & Tornado 42" min w/ adult - Scooters One other thing is stay away from the "water coasters" they have. They are water park raft rides and the water smelled awful. If you have any other questions about the park, let me know. The place is quite fun and a perfect place to spend a day.
  3. Didn't want to steal this thread, but I also had some questions about Hershey Park and other PA parks. I'm looking to do Kennywood, Waldameer, Lakemont Park, Knobel's, and Hershey Park August 10-14 (a Monday-Friday.) Any advice on lines and such? I've never been to any of the parks and plan to do one day at each.
  4. Wow is all I can say to this. Come on season pass discount and free parking to get the haircut.
  5. We plan on doing them on different days. The plan orginaly was to do Six Flags on the way down and Wild Adventures on the way back, but Six Flags is closed on Friday, March the 27th. So because of that, it looks like we are going to have to pick different days unless Wild Adventures is open that day.
  6. I got that in about 12 hours from when I sent it and it is great they are being honest about it(something Cedar Fair is lacking). While I am disappointed since I will be in the area next year for Diamondback and all. I will still visit SFKK and again when the twisted twins do reopen. Well, that saved me a trip there. I want to go, but want to wait until at least one side of Twisted Twins is running to justify a 6 hour drive each way.
  7. Hello. I am looking for advice for people who have done each park in one day. We are looking to hit both on our drive to and from IL on the way to Disney World in the last week of March, first week of April. We are wonder about how long each park takes to do? By do I am talking about doing each ride at least once with the big rides twice. We just want to make sure one day each will be enough as I am not sure I will get a chance to do either again. Thanks
  8. Nice deal on the pass. At Great America, the parking (at 65) in 9 dollars more then the season pass(at 55.99) with this deal, which is insane.
  9. Not sure if it is the same system, but you can do the same thing on Tony Hawk's Big Spin at Six Flags St. Louis.
  10. Not sure about Feb, but for end of March through first week of April, it has gotten easier to get a room as the deal has gone on. The first night on the deal, the cheapest room was Caribbean Beach Resort and then only the upper tier places. Last week, checked again and everything was open for the same dates. Was able to downgrade to Pop and save over $400. No sure if that means less people are booking and more rooms are in the deal or they just time released them. Just an observation. Either way Disney is a fantastic place, crowds or no crowds.
  11. Great card as well. I love the older ones that show every thing in the park, give a great sense of what a day there was like. I've got an old card for the Python at Busch Gardens from the 80's I need to scan in this weekend for here.
  12. ^^ That Cedar Point card, to me, is everything a park card should be. For a very low cost, a person gets to take home a picture memory of all the big rides. A fantastic card and thanks for sharing it.
  13. And on RAW 2 I think the *only* footage that wasn't shot by TPR was Raven, Fahrenheit, and Nitro and I'm pretty sure we had lift hill footage for Nitro and Fahrenheit. I still would have to go back and look because I don't remember off hand, but I really think we have complete lift hills for just about every coaster on those DVDs. It's one of the things that people have specifically requested so we made sure that if we had the lift hill we included it! --Robb "I think Holiday World needs TPR to come update their Raven B-Roll footage!" Alvey Lol, would be nice to see TPR Raven footage. Also, a thank you for responding to my post. It is nice to see my feedback was actually read by someone. I am used to feedback going into the abyss and never seeing the light of day. It is nice to see people still care about those that enjoy their products.
  14. For myself, two big trips for me. First is 8 Days at Disney World. Along with those 4 parks, add in Old Town on some random night there. Also add Wild Adventures on the way down and Six Flags Over Georgia on the way back driving. Second is an Ohio trip. Will be my first time to Cedar Point and Kings Island. Finally, excited to see Buccaneer Battle at Six Flags Great America. Should be fun on hot days.
  15. The Roller Coasters in the RAW footage DOES include the full lift hill footage when we have it. Out of the 60 roller coasters that are on both DVDs I can only think of 2 or 3 that didn't have the full lift hill because we didn't have the footage available to us. Is there more than 2 or 3? I can't imagine there being more than 5 of them that don't include the full lift hill. --Robb You are right. I just fished watching the Woodies DVD of In the Raw Volume 2. It never hit me that some of the footage might be park provided until I saw the Raven.
  16. My first coaster was The Python at Busch Gardens Tampa/Africa. I was 6 years old and remember the Waffle Cone ice cream stand by the ride was amazing. Went there every time we hit Busch Gardens after that until it was torn down.
  17. The idea of a past coaster volume of In the Raw is great. For people like myself, we got into coaster after many great rides were gone. Now having the resources to go to great coasters, a chance to experience the heritage of coasters would enhance my application of coasters today. My one piece of advice on this topic is, if possible, to try to do more then one volume of past coasters. Such as alternate between past and current rides with the volumes. Thanks for the great DVDs so far.
  18. Got my DVD's in the mail last week and just finished all but the last half of disk 1 of In the Raw 2. I had never ordered a TPR DVD (never even knew of the site until this year actually) and decided to go with In the Raw 1 and 2 along with Coaster Expedition volume 4. My thoughts on In the Raw 2 are very positive. The few rides I've been on that are on the DVD's (1 and 2) were nearly dead on. I also liked the footage before and after the rides. Gave a greater sense of the ride. I only had 2 ideas for improvement. The first is to include full life hill footage of all the rides. This is not a problem really, but helps with the feel of being there. The second has to do with the info page for each ride. My advice would be to put the little extra info that is on some rides on all of them. I had someone over to watch the Steel disk of Volume 2 and they really found it interesting. It helped them appreciate each ride instead of them being "just another roller coaster." Over all, the products are outstanding. The free TPR pen was great too. In me, you have a future buyer of every volume of In the Raw for sure and probably all the expedition ones as well.
  19. When I was planning to do the program, you don't get a room until you get there. This was 3 years ago, so not sure how much has changed.
  20. This topic reminds me of a fun experience at Busch Gardens Tampa from 1999. It was new years eve and it was around 3 in the afternoon. We got in line for their octopus ride. It was maybe a 3 ride wait. There was a group of 14 in line with a old couple behind them. All of a sudden, 2 people jumped over a fence to join the 14 people. The older couple decided to make a big deal about it. 20 minutes later, 16 people were kicked out and banned. Made the entire visit for me.
  21. As a kid at Disney, my family made the habit to find the longest que line and eat while in line. Worked perfect then and still does to this day for me. I have no problems at all. Now my fiancée must wait over an hour and a half to ride any ride after eating. Could cause some problems in the future .
  22. My personal ones are - People that scream to annoy others. Happens all the time at SF Great America. - Teens who are left to roam the parks in groups with not a single adult around. I'm not talk 16, I'm talking the 10-15 age range. A week ago, they started a mosh pit in line for the Viper and nothing was done. - People who are shocked you can't bring a 4 foot tall stuffed animals on Whizzer. - Flash pass people walking through the que line, not smart enough to notice the Flash Pass entrance. - Most of all, to me, is people who walk in the center of the main isle in parking lots. Is it that hard to walk on the side of the road.
  23. I was at Six Flags Great American yesterday in line for the Ragin' Cajun. Someone proceeded to tell me the entire Batman: The Ride was 10 seconds long. They also told me it went 150 MPH.
  24. I was there on Saturday as well. The crowds were not horrible, but were large. Every coaster had at least a 30 minute wait with Bull having over an hour wait. Superman was down until around noon, opened and proceeded to go down again around 5 with at least a half hour line for the ride still there. Sunday, there were walk-on's on everything but the major coasters. Even Dark Knight was a 10 minute wait at most.
