  1. ^I believe the full price is $20 per person, but this early in the season it will probably only be $10 or $15.
  2. Done, done, done, done, and done! Thanks everyone for the quick responses; I have donated $5 to each of your pages.
  3. I am excited to be participating in this incredible event at Kings Island again this year! Give Kids the World is such an amazing organization, and riding coasters is a great way to support it. Last year, I was able to raise $365; this year, I have increased my goal to $500. Let's get the ball rolling: I will donate $5 to the pages of the first five donors to my page! (Please post in this thread so I can find your pages easily.) Thanks. http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/adamdamico/KingsIsland2013
  4. ^There's usually a full queue on the weekends; granted, that's only about a 30 min wait.
  5. Yes it did! The only time I ever rode Cascade Canyon was in 2000. It was certainly on its last leg, though. The mats were disgusting and the slides were deteriorating.
  6. I have found touringplans.com to be very helpful in the past. It provides a lot of free content about Disney, including restaurant menus and recomendations. Also, for $12 you can get step by step touring guides for the parks that really work well to make the most of your time. Keep in mind the parks will be packed over Spring Break.
  7. I finally got around to compiling my list. Here are my top 35: Intimidator 305 Kings Dominion VA y y 1 Favorite Wood Coaster Any Park Anywhere ** y y 1.5 (Phoenix) Millennium Force Cedar Point OH y y 2 Phantom's Revenge Kennywood Park PA y n 3 Maverick Cedar Point OH y y 4 Behemoth Canadas Wonderland ON y n 5 Ride of Steel Darien Lake NY y n 6 Nitro Six Flags Great Ad NJ y y 7 Goliath Six Flags Over Geo GA y y 8 Storm Runner Hersheypark PA y y 9 Diamondback Kings Island OH y y 10 Griffon Busch Gardens Will VA y y 11 Top Thrill Dragster Cedar Point OH y y 12 Steel Force Dorney Park PA y n 13 Mystery Mine Dollywood TN y y 14 Tatsu Six Flags Magic Mo CA y n 15 Gemini Cedar Point OH y y 16 Chinese Fireball Islands of Adventu FL y n 17 Raptor Cedar Point OH y y 18 Alpengeist Busch Gardens Will VA y y 19 Skyrush Hersheypark PA y y 20 Magnum XL-200 Cedar Point OH y y 21 Volcano: The Blast Co Kings Dominion VA y y 22 Steel Eel SeaWorld San Anton TX y n 23 Fahrenheit Hersheypark PA y y 24 Mindbender Six Flags Over Geo GA y y 25 Tennessee Tornado Dollywood TN y y 26 Talon Dorney Park PA y n 27 Hungarian Horntail Islands of Adventu FL y n 28 Apollo's Chariot Busch Gardens Will VA y y 29 Goliath Six Flags Magic Mo CA y n 30 Raging Bull Six Flags Great Am IL y n 31 Intimidator Carowinds NC y y 32 Firehawk Kings Island OH y y 33 Expedition Everest Disney Animal King FL y n 34 Wild Eagle Dollywood TN y y 35 A note on Skyrush: While it is a great ride, I only rank it 20th because it was too painful for me to fully enjoy. This could very well be do to the massive bruise on my right thigh from the back seat of the Cyclone too days earlier. Skyrush's restraints clamped down on my thighs instead of my waist, like most coasters. With I305 restraints, I truly believe it would sit comfortably in my top 5 (maybe even at #2). As Intamin stated in Robb's IAAPA interview with them, the park chose to go with lap_bars only (which I am usually all in favor of!), but the old style Intamin lap_bars (like those on the S:RoS rides) would be unsafe with that kind of extreme air time.
  8. The Timberliners are expected to reduce lateral "roughness" drastically and vertical "roughness" slightly, while navigating the course at a faster speed due to fewer frictional losses. As for my opinion of the Voyage, it is brutal, but I love it. My only experiences on it were during Holiwood Nights 2011. While it is less reridable than the Raven and Legend (three rides in a row and I needed to take a break), I would always choose the Voyage if I could only take a ride on one of the three. It currently ranks fourth on my list under Phoenix, El Toro, and Ravine Flyer II.
  9. Sheldon: I'm afraid I can't allow that. Pursuant to Starfleet General Order 104, Section A, you are deemed unfit, and I hereby relieve you of your command. Leonard: General Order 104, Section A does not apply in this situation. Sheldon: Give me one good reason why not. Leonard: Because this is not Star Trek!
  10. ^ I know they have in the past, but I don't see anything on the website currently. ^^ The Platinum Pass ERT is awesome! As long as you're not there on a Saturday, you should be able to knock out Invertigo, the junior hang-and-bang, and 8-10 rides on Diamondback before the park even opens.
  11. ^^ In terms of food, if you have a Platinum Pass, the Back Yard BBQ is a great deal. It's all you can eat for $12, soft drinks included. If not, Panda Express, in the Fest Haus, will fill you up for $11. The cheese steaks by D-back are really good but overpriced.
  12. Now that my finals are complete, I finally had the chance to fill out my ballot. For the first time in my life, my favorite steel (I305) is ranked higher than my favorite wood (Phoenix). 13. I voted for Coaster Expidition since it has been a while since a new one has been released. That being said, I would still like to see a RAW DVD released each year around Christmas time, if it is possible to do both.
  14. That cinnimon bread pick is making me hungry! The look on our faces say 'Why weren't you on this ride with us?'
  15. Yes I do want free stuff! Packages make me happy.
  16. I was in Mason yesterday for a wedding and staying five minutes from the park, so today I stopped by for a couple of hours this morning. The park was empty and operations were the best I've ever seen! Firehawk was consistently releasing one train before the other had returned to the station (and the trains were actually full of guests). In just 2.5 hours (10:20-12:50), I managed to accomplish: -Diamondback: 10 rides (Gold Pass ERT) -Beast: 2 rides (walk-on, running slowly since it was cold and early) -Firehawk: 1 ride (5 min. wait) -Flight of Fear: 1 ride (10 min. wait, no longer stops in the MCBR: makes a huge difference in the second half of the ride!) -Racer: 1 ride (10 min. wait, running slower than usual) -Adventure Express: 1 ride (walk-on) -Flight Deck: 2 rides (walk-on)
  17. Is anyone planning on going to the park for closing day (this Sunday)?
  18. Well, you might as well just sign me up for Scandi 2014 now!
  19. I don't have a Blu-Ray player and will, most likely, NOT be purchasing one in the near future. As for digital downloads, there are benefits such as reduced cost, but I would much rather have Coasters in the Raw on DVD. Call me lazy, but I enjoy not having to boot up my computer and hook it up to the TV when I want to watch a movie. I own a copy of every RAW DVD to date and would be disappointed if the DVD option were discontinued. Thanks for all of the hard work you put into these; I truly appreciate it!
  20. ^Viper is on the smoother side of the Arrow multi-looper spectrum, about on par with Demon at SFGAm. As far as the GP opinion of the ride, compared to ROS, the lines will tell the true story. Assuming two train operation on both rides, a 30 min. wait for ROS will mean Viper is walk-on, and an hour wait for ROS will mean 10 min. for Viper.
  21. At those prices, I really hope they are donating a portion to charity.
