Ok. Did some looking - it's not a glitch. You're limited to 90 probes in 24hrs, from visiting friends. The rest is just cash. Apparently, it's to prolong the event (which goes to Nov 11?) which is fine, but gives plenty of opportunity for those with billions of donuts to speed things up and then bitch about nothing to do. The only known glitch so far is regarding the alien UFO's you can shoot down (and get bags) - after shooting one down, you can shoot again (if you have the ammo) and get more bags, as long as you don't scroll the screen. I've done this, it does work. But, ammo is few and far in between. Also, instead of the mystery box daily prize, I got a gold bag. Apparently, you can also get bags from other days as well, but since this was the first, that's all *I* can report on. Liking it so far. Bought the drive-in. Kinda cool looking - 5 different movies you can put on the screen. I haven't found anything on the possible advantage of the hunting license (90 donuts). I'll post more as I find more.

Nope. I had 420k elixir and 219k coins. We got nada.

Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?
OldJJman replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I still like that boomerang at Woobang Tower Park in South Korea, that was being welded while we waited to ride. -
Same here. In fact, still doing it while I'm at home (stopped doing it at work when I finished in about 8 days), that's why I'm over 214k in coins, and about 400k in purple.

^I still need one more baby powder. Needed it for two days!

How do you watch YouTube?
OldJJman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I usually watch YouTube videos on my desktop. However, if it's in HD, and something I'm really interested in, I will watch thru my providers (AT&T U-verse) YouTube channel or my Apple TV, whichever happens to be on at the time. -
I did a bit of looking. Found NOTHING related to the possible benefits of preserving elixir. That being said, I am saving it just in case. I've maxed out the nerd availability (130) and nerds per castle (30). The latest talk is how to maximize your gold. People are now reporting on how to get upwards of 30k/day. Though it seems to be of no additional benefit, other than to level up characters (for bragging rights only). I don't know if the system (some have called it a glitch, but it really isn't) works or not. I haven't tried it, though I may, just out of curiosity. I'm already over 100k in gold and 60k in elixir. The only benefit of spending elixir for me seems to be getting more castle walls, and I have NO desire to expand my castles, and the walls cannot be sold for $$$. So, I'll be saving elixir, and waiting to see what happens.

Ok. I got to the 38,000 gold plateau and have all of the prizes and tasks completed. So... to help anyone who needs it, I will no longer defend any of my houses that are attacked, so the attacker will get the full amount of gold/elixir. I will only rebuild the destroyed ones. (You know I have a lot of housing farms!). I will defend my castles, just to get the nerds and give me something to do. I don't think it should be too hard for people to complete this event before the end on Oct. 7.

Yes. I saw it this morning. Some kind of bus. Didn't notice too closely, was late for work, but same kind of killing mutant Stewie, etc...

[youtu_be][/youtu_be] I got some great stuff too, BUT, I just noticed there is a new building "George Takei Training Center" (7500 blam) that drops porno mags. Also, we can now make "Iron Baby" and there is some fusion reactors that cost 2,000 blam each, and you need 10 of them! (Of course, I noticed all this AFTER I spent about 20,000 blam on the mystery boxes!)

^Along those lines - I like how, when you visit the strangers' towns, the game automatically scrolls from the (first sideshow Bob) castles, to Flanders, to the most expensive houses to the cheapest, in order. So, if you happen on a town where you are left staring at a castle under attack, or in ruins, you'll know that there is nothing left to attack in that town. The formula that Chris/Dane used has started popping up on the boards as the best way to work thru this update, so thanks to them for sharing. Also, during the day when I have limited time, I'll just attack whatever pops up, (one nerd at a time) and only castles when I have the time to do it. Makes the update a bit more enjoyable. Side note - after you unlock the small pieces for recycle castle and boxingham palace - extra walls, towers and gates all cost donuts. So you may have to be creative to finish those castles.

I think you guys are on to something here. In the last 7hrs, I've raked in a little over 1200 gold, just doing what Chris said about one nerd per castle (yes, it does take a bit of time)... But, before that though, (since about 6am today) I was just going after anything, which paid out 70/25 (I think). During the day (as close to 2 hrs as I could) I'd still get elixir and gold. I'm thinking that whatever the "conquer" time is, if that elapses you get the full amount. If the victim defends his property, you collect the instant payout as a percentage of the time you were on the attack, the next time you log in. That could account for the varying amounts paid out (and the amount of nerds you have. I'm up to 45) I haven't found anything like this on the boards anywhere. Any thoughts?
-
I just did what you said with my 35 nerds, and will do so for the rest of the day, and see what happens tomorrow.
-
^DAMN!!
-
Thanks for sharing that Chris! I'll give it a try. Quick question - Do you attack friends, or strangers only? Or, does it matter? Kinda curious about that.
-
Ya know - I find that extremely funny - as most people on all the different TSTO boards really hated Whacking Day. Yet we (TPR) seemed to enjoy it, as we figured out how to do it as a community, and how to help each other reach our goals. So, yeah - Bring back Whacking Day, or bring on Halloween.
-
So far, I would rate this update "interesting" and nothing more. I just can't quite seem to find a working formula to making the most elixir or gold. I see that Chris and Dane have a lot of gold. I like the social aspect, but *I* thought because of the bigger rewards! that visiting (ransacking) strangers would be the best (especially visiting people that were only level 20, or lower). Not spending any donuts on this update at all. Though, I have to admit, this is the best set of graphics EA has put out for this game in a long time.

I saved my harpoons for a couple of days, so I could get the "Action Movie Set", but I have to kill giant Stewie 5 more times to get the final car and the jet prize. Don't think I'm gonna make it. Also, with all that blam from getting the movie set, I got George Takei yesterday. Now what to do, except fulfill quests?
-
I believe it's part 9 of homers tasks, either needs to be started or completed. Them all that stuff should unlock from your inventory.
-
You get both elixir and gold for defending. I'm NOT sure which direction yields the most for the player. Still working on that. But, either way, you still get elixir and gold. BTW - I just got a notification that I should log in for a surprise - 15 donuts for "being among the first to play". Cool.

I'm beginning to think that the absolute goal is a lot more interaction between players, and that EVERYONE benefits, regardless of friend or random. Although, interaction between friends may be slightly beneficial to both players. No proof of this (yet), but it is my suspicion.
-
^^ & ^, I've thought about trying that (not knowing about the FB posts) but, I'm still advancing in the game at a decent clip. I don't think it'll be much of a problem getting to the top prize (Takei). I got Stan Lee and started doing his tasks. In the pursuit for the pesticides, I've got a ton of bombs (23 right now), so I can bomb at my leisure. Not as much pressure to complete as TSTO.
-
I am absolutely - NOT SURE! I loaded the game this morning, and found my castle and 2 destroyed buildings. The game prompted me (via Barbarian) to fix, and get revenge. While doing what the Barbarian asked, the game lagged massively. I was getting a bit pi$$ed off. Once those tasks were completed, game speed returned to normal. I *think* I've only attacked one friend (don't remember who, sorry) so far. Everyone else has been the random generator by tapping on the home screen. I do like the fact that it doesn't show the name/handle of who you're attacking. I'm still unclear of reaping the benefits from being attacked/attacking actual friends, and whether it's better than the randomness of the games' choice. That being said, the nerds seem to multiply quite quickly (2hrs, or something like that) so that encourages more gameplay throughout the day. Or, at least having to check your own town for random attacks. When I can figure out more, I'll post it.

TSTO One new strip of land. Price $200k - $1.5mil. The board is now coded for 15 new strip of land, so they may be adding more strips more often. Being a new update, your "confirm donut spend" has been switched to off, so you'll need to go back into settings and fix that. An icon of Bender (from Futurama) has been added to the files. Supposedly, a tie-in to Season 26. Your "other" Springfield has been updated to level 40 and has a castle to go after (but it's Krustyland and Squidport have been removed). Medieval Times (event ends Oct. 7) Currency is elixir. Prizes earned with gold. There are 10 prizes to collect. There are also a "Gang/Mob/Army of Nerds" Assuming this is for Donut Purchase (probably similar to the Goblins at Halloween) There are "cheaters" as well (jewels in a bag) for donut purchase. The Barbarian IS a separate character. There is also a barbarian skin for Homer, wizard for Marge, archer for Lisa, and a goblin for Bart. There is all kinds of new buildings and stuff, incl: A cardboard castle, tower, and walls A recycled castle, tower and walls A real (buildable) castle with tower, walls, etc... You will be earning skins as you go, (and they are placed in "inventory", though you may not see them. Not sure) but they WILL NOT be available until you've completed quest #9, and are automatically added for the quest you may be trying to complete at the appointed time. Ok. After the 16hr castle build, you start visiting friends and tapping on sword(?) icons over the houses. That can destroy their house. By repairing your own houses (that others have attacked) you earn elixir and gold. If one of your houses (stores, whatever) has a shield over it, it has been attacked. Tap on the shield to collect elixir (and maybe gold). Kinda like the handshake icon. You can also send "nerds" to visit neighbors. More nerds, more damage done. The most nerds you can have at one time is 40, so any new nerds you gain will be lost. (Kind of forcing you to visit neighbors) Elixir may be bought for donuts, but ONLY on Wednesdays. (Go figure) As far as gameplay goes, here is the best, and most complete info I have found: Clash of Clones: Guide to Clashing That's all for now...
