  1. I still haven't d/l the update yet. (And won't unless forced to.) I decided to wait and avoid the inevitable initial glitches, and concentrate on my weekly monorail stuff. I'm almost finished with this weeks haul. I did cruise past some of the boards and discovered that there were several glitches, most of which (but not all) have already been corrected thru 2 small, quick updates. Hopefully, I'll be d/l the update later today.
  2. When I'm playing on my iPad, and pinch the land down, it does pretty much cover the whole screen. Maybe a tad bit more to the sides. A good example would be: if you look at my housing farm on the lower right of my land, it only takes 2 taps to cover all of the houses.
  3. I "think" the total investment was around 20 million. I didn't realize it till after I was done, and down to 94mil. I "think" I had around 114mil at the time.
  4. I agree, though I was hoping for a one button collection. I didn't even notice how much it cost to upgrade. Works nicely though.
  5. Somewhere along the lines of the latest update, EVERYTHING got reset, and (the glitch) resets to the time (supposedly) to when the update was implemented. So. if your game is set to do automatic updates, that may explain it. If not, hold on… The update went live, and their were TONS of glitches. Late yesterday, an in-game prompt came up and they did a forced update. That alleviated a majority of the problems, but not all. EA is aware of these and is actually working towards solving them BEFORE the Halloween update. There's a rumor that leaked out that we're getting an IRS building at some point. The IRS building will allow you to collect everything ($) in your town at once, so it will be very handy. Kinda like the Christmas decoration switch we got last year. These glitches SEEM to be connected to the rumored IRS building. That's all I've found for now.
  6. I'd hold off on doing anything associated with Springfield Heights. It really IS just something to do in between normal updates and challenges. We're given the mall station today. The ultimate prize this time is the rail yard, where we can continue to make track AFTER this event ends. So this is probably the most important prize you can get, if you like/love the monorail. Though I imagine that the rail yard will be available for donut purchase after the event, but don't quote me on that.
  7. Level update today, prompted by Homer. Four new buildings (one premium), with the premium and the one prompted by Homer having characters. It was announced as being a "limited time" purchase.
  8. I think the issue with removing the restraints was only on the EXISTING trains. Law-wise, that may have been true. But, yes, they have been severely skirting the issue (including making the "When are you going to remove the OTSR on Revolution?" question a non-topic for discussion at Q&A sessions) the last few years. So, I'm glad it's happening. But, will it have 3 train operation, with all trim brakes removed on the course? Trains can be in the station, on the brake run, and on the course with no problems whatsoever. The question now is, will they remove the numerous (unnecessary) trim brakes from the ride and have 2-3 train operation, or leave the brakes in? Jeff -Who remembers 5 train operation on Revolution, back in the day.
  9. There is an Ap store update available today. They say it fixed a smaller monorail glitch, but more importantly - you can start storing the gawd-awful buildings from Springfield Heights again. So, if you have too many, or max out on a building, you can store them.
  10. I saw the same thing on TSTOForum.com. However, there really isn't a limit on how much duct tape (or previously, blueprints) you can get as some people had over 800,000 blueprints. The "limit" is on how much you can EARN thru recycling. I was just pointing out that the sooner you get the final prize, the more track you can earn, as (with the blueprints) the cap was lifted on earning potential. However, I'm now reading that some people are that have already got the Hippie, are getting daily caps, while others aren't. People that had bazillions of donuts from earlier glitches in the game are spending them to rush Lisa's recycling plant. Those guys already have more track than they can ever use. Every 2 donuts gives them 350 duct tape, with no limit on that. Those guys are already bored with the event and are awaiting Act III. I don't have those donuts to spend, but I'm about 3 days ahead of the schedule (only checking/playing about every 4hours), which will give me extra time to earn track. Currently have 54,749 duct tape!
  11. How did you manage that? So far I've only obtained enough track to go a relatively short distance. If you completed "Act I" early, you could still collect blueprints. In previous updates, when you collect additional stuff you could win donuts. In this update, once you collected Ray Patterson, you could collect track. 1000 blueprints for the first piece, 2000 more for the second, etc... The best part is that once you collected Ray Patterson, there was no maximum daily tasks, so the more diligent you are at playing, the more blueprints you'd collect. I collected an additional 15 track pieces by collecting ~120,000+ additional blueprints, before "Act II" started. I'm hoping (actually, assuming) that this will remain the case once we collect "Uriah Heap's Recycling Center". And, for those interested, there is a 4th monorail station in the game files - The "Mall-O-Rail" station. As large as the stations are, I think it's fair to assume that we will be able to connect all the stations without having them all on the same plot of land. So, I think the possibility exists that you may be able to buy track after the event ends (either in-game-cash or donuts). (Edited to add) Always go for the highest payouts on the (now) duct tape, so you don't max out on daily tasks (10, I think), for quicker rewards, until you get Uriah Heap's Recycling Center. Then, it should become a free-for-all again.
  12. Not here, and I haven't heard of that one yet.
  13. From what I'm seeing - there seems to be the ability to get a whole bunch of track. Possibly making it tour your whole town. Now, I did buy the Krusty station, and am really not sure where to place it as of yet. But I did put Cletus' station near my dump and recycling centers, as it does fit the motif. I've stretched the track out where it almost connects from where my first station has been put up. As this is only "Act 2" I'm guessing a third station will come with "Act 3". So I'm counting on connecting them all at some point. I may also dedicate one to Springfield Heights like you did. Since so much land has been added, I've been rearranging my town, so as to make most events have their own little section, with possible room for expansion. I'm enjoying the game again. I was pretty much done with that stupid sports update. The monorail has definitely renewed my interest.
  14. Ok. Honestly, I'm liking the monorail update quite a bit. Looking forward to the amount of track and add-ones coming in the next 2 stages. It's really renewed my interest in the game. I finally bought up all the extra land. (Somewhere around $20mil) While doing so, I discovered that you can build Squidport tiles again!!! ($17,500 and 3.5 days). All this new land and stuff that has been added, along with the monorails ability to run over the roads - I figured it was time to do some redesigning. I'm gonna try and create a sports complex, a restaurant district, and just try and reorganize some of this stuff. May even cut down on some of "farming", or at least relocate it, as the extra land cost a lot, and I'm down to 101mil. I'm thinking the good stuff in the coming months will cost a lot, aside from using donuts. So, after all that - yeah, you can get more Squidport tile.
  15. ^ I'm having the same problem with Hans Moleman. I'm at -128, and counting. I haven't seen anything on the boards like this though. He's a useless character anyway, so I just keep sending him back.
  16. I honestly believe that this is just a time killer addition between real updates. I mean, getting all the tasks done was fairly easy, but getting all the rewards certainly takes time. Even the highest person on my "friends" list is only at 220mil. Still a long way from getting that billionaire playground. You don't have to play, and you don't get penalized for it. It's just a cool addition to play, when real updates are completed or pending. After all, if you have all available floaties to get, you're using 36 characters. Most of which, can or will be used in regular updates. That being said, I like it.
  17. OK. I'm really liking this "Springfield Heights" addition so far. It appears to be an ongoing addition, that you DON'T have to do, as much as it's something you CAN do. Each building and upgrade can take quite a bit of time, but the buildings and building upgrades, give a much more fun objective (IMO). The prizes seem descent as well. Granted, I have today off, and spent quite some time playing this portion. So I've got some wealth established. That'll stop once I get back to work. It's also a great way to pass time, in-between real events. So, yeah. I like it, so far.
  18. Great coverage! Damn! That Yakatori looks sooooo good!!!
  19. Hate to admit it, but I totally agree!! I'm barely logging in once a day in the morning to collect $$, and play what's available. Bring on Halloween.
  20. One row, and one colum. Costs about $16mil. Down to 103mil. This ought to be interesting.
  21. "Placenta Jelly"???? WTF??? LOL!! Big question is "Did you buy it?"
  22. I stopped playing yesterday, as I wasn't going to get the Bob sign. Got everything else. Finished Burns mountain of money. I didn't mind this event as much as others seemed to. Far from my favorite though. Believe it or not, "Whacking Day" was my favorite. My biggest pet peeve with this one was that visiting neighbors (leaving seeds, tapping Bobs) was basically worthless. I still enjoy the game, and am awaiting the next update.
