The only thing I see odd about the pirate theme is that the Pirates of Wildwood dark ride is on the same pier.

I'd say FT should open sometime this summer; they got the new trains and since Black Diamond is opening in 2011, it looks like this might finally be the year.

Crap. Please disregard that report mods, I wasn't thinking straight, then I read it over. I'll ask the same question that someone else did in your last post, did you write that yourself? Nice job. Although I don't work in any ride operation departmen now, I hope to sometime in the near future. This thread kind of makes me think back to the thread about the mother bribing the ride attendant. Kind of makes you want to take this thread and show it to them.

I believe this is the last operating in the United States. I, for one, am not bothered by the Krazy Kars, I far prefer regular bumper cars over them. And agreeing with others, I also hate the Wild Mouse...worst ride and longest wait in the park. Let's hope now that they have something planned for the former Laser spot!

It could be, but in '08 there was a fire, damaging a moderate sized portion of that pier. They did replace the damaged bumper cars with the bumper cars from a different pier, but there was also some extra room and a smaller kiddie flume that I don't believe was replaced. It could very well be a dark ride. It could even be a family coaster if they got rid of the crappy Zyklon with OTSRs.

^ I haven't been since '08 and I never got the SLC credit. They've rearranged a lot of things between '08 and now, so I don't know about space issues. They do have PPR and the POP was pretty expensive from what I remember.

Back in early 2009, rumors came up about a new walkthrough on the Mariner's Landing Pier of Morey's Piers. The rumored name on Screamscape was Ghost Ship Island. In December a teaser site: http://5292010.com/blog/ was discovered, counting down to Memorial Day weekend, 5/29/10. There are some pictures as well as some blog entries. Today, 1/24/10, Morey's Posted this on their Facebook page: We are building a new ride for this summer 2010 located on Mariners Landing. You can see the name of the ride on our website on the link below: http://www.moreyspiers.com/index.php The link takes you to Morey's official website and shows a short picture of the 'name', Ignis Fatuus. As of now, no one else knows any more information, but when anything else is released, I'll update everyone. Here's the logo

My dad usually doesn't go with me to amusement parks, except for the family trip to Knoebels in the summer. On weekdays at Knoebels they only run one train on coasters. When we end up going to a larger park (I.e. Dollywood this summer) he's absolutely amazed that they run more than one train on coasters, he thinks it's dangerous or something. And he's also amazed that they charge for parking (but of course he followed his amazement at Dollywood with -- "I guess we're paying for another boob job). So it's not necessarily a stupid thing, but more-so clueless GP.

I'm using my iPod touch. It works pretty well with the zooming and everything.

It's better than Jersey Shore, I'll give it that much.

About two years ago at Knoebels, I was waiting in line to ride the bumper boats. The cycle before mine ends and the boats return to the loading dock. The ops come around to tie the boats to the dock and hold them so people could get out. One kid on the end was able to tie his boat up, but didn't wait for someone to come and steady the boat for him. He stands up and puts one foot on the platform and the boat starts drifting. Two seconds later, he's in the water, soaked from head to toe. His only words..."Well, this sucks."

I'd have to agree with the boomerangs. A nice flat (or two) could be put into the footprint of one.

I totally agree with these! Fahrenheit is my second favorite steel coaster, I really had a great ride on it back in October, and was smoother than my ride in August (that was pretty rattly). I like WC too, the first drop is really steep and insane and I prefer it over Thunderhead!
